  1. Hi guys! I am a brand new DJ within Second Life. I have just learned how to use Mixxx thanks to some SL friends and even using Google and YouTube. I am a very new DJ, but am willing and able to take advice and feedback from others. Below is what I have typed/saved up in a notecard. -------------------------------------------------------------- Looking to work at a club, at your SL wedding, venue, or anything as a DJ. I have been self learning Mixxx and learning thanks to SL friends online, Google, and YouTube. I play 80's tunes, country, classic rock, rap/hip hop, and anything else you want to throw at me. Song request friendly and have decent Internet. Tips and/or an agreed upon amount is ok. If a club or venue I'm looking to possibly be a cover or perhaps take 1 perm set as a DJ. Due to being new to DJing in SL and DJing itself, I will work for whatever to gain experience. I am able to provide my own stream. Please send me a notecard as IMs maybe capped! Thank You, NipahRika (Rika) Edit: No longer looking!
  2. OK, that is fine. I sent a request anyway.
  3. Hey, did the same thing. I came back after so long and made a new account. I found new friends in SL recently, but could use some more. NipahRika in world.
  4. I might add you when I get home later on tonight. I am NipahRika(Rika is my display name) in world. I go to clubs mostly atm
  5. Yup, exactly!! I ended up caving and just got the Erika mesh body the other day! It came with some clothes to wear and mess about with. I found some clothes on MP and even some in world itself. You got to spend money to 'look good' for sure.
  6. I for sure agree with this. I came back as a not new SL user and found the bigger clubs just didn't give me a positive or full on newbie friendly vibe. I only know of one club which I'd not suggest to furry avis and similar types. I went there when my avi could come off as a furry or anthro! I found 2 clubs but one is technically a sister club where furry types are welcomed alongside Dinkies! Fun times there as a VIP!! Be very careful in general with what communities you find and even join in SL too in relation to fur and anthro stuff too. I'd stay far away from certain adult stuff in the fur community. Not against adult sims or adult hangouts, but most of the time I've found they can be used as pickup spots.
  7. Looks good! Here's some threads hiring dancers etc. Do note I think many/most clubs require you be 30 days to 60 days old to be employed.
  8. I found it very rare to meet the shop owner or anyone who might be working for them. I've met skybox rental folks before who were helping me find one back years ago. Was a fun experience and sometimes I'd get a cheaper option cause didn't want certain stuff.
  9. I am just a member/VIP of these clubs and do not work for them. Not lesbian clubs or anything, but I've found they are acceptable of everyone and anyone. Back to the 80s is one club I like where people do socialize usually. I sometimes AFK dance there and just remain quiet at times when doing something else on the side. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Awa/145/220/3501 is the SLURL! A place where the Eighties, the Decade of Excess, lives on with some of the best music from 1979-1991 in a world full of neon nights and pop-culture nostalgia. Come Back To The 80's and Feel Where You Belong! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Davvi/47/48/3502 -- [IN]dustry Nightclub is pretty much another club with the same folks in it, maybe different people too. Founded in 2020, by clubbers, for clubbers, delivering some of the hottest tracks from across the genres! Our DJs are legit, our Hosts friendly, and our Guests nothing I find attending clubs when they do events is best as that's when I notice people tend to socialize and talk more
  10. I was in Club Carnage and they are hiring Hosts and DJs! You can come hang out and get a feel for the club first if you want! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Young/191/220/30 is the link. you just got to find the application box and click on host application. read the notecard carefully.
  11. Making friends in a non adult sim is probably best IMO. Some/most adult sims and even some LGBTQ+ groups can just be pickup stuff. I've made some acquaintances in 2 neko and fur friendly dance clubs recently, but I am starting to consider some of those people my friends. You do you. It is your SL after all, not mine. This has been my issue with clubs in general besides the two I find myself going back to. The people are just like AFK dancing, or do not reply to me due to my avi being a neko (she has regular human skin and shape! has cat ears and a tail tho). Yes, I think trying to search for trans friendly clubs (gen to moderate) you may find some stuff. I have not looked myself to give any thought out input or suggestions. I agree, but for me over the years I just don't care what gender IRL or even in SL someone is. It doesn't bug me whatsoever. I know it does others, and I get that and understand that.
  12. Yes, make the header be something eye catchy like a meme or so. I just think \it should be eye catching or silly IMO!
  13. I saw the group notice go out in this group about it! Seems cool! https://www.essential-inventory.com/post/skinfair-2024 I am unsure yet. I may just have to 'shop around' and see.
