I think I watched this way too many times. I was just trying to focus in world on something and kept looking at the map. Maybe for new people make the map button really stand out with improved mapping overlays and have a bunch of AI randomly picked learning tasks (something for new people to do to help learn) on a random map they receive when they start sl. That would avoid trolling areas new people are expected to go to. Maybe dedicate a few hundred regions for this. Retention prolly go way up. At the end of learning give more than a hair piece. maybe a nice horse or yacht, maybe starter maps based on interest. The "map maker" could build a starter map based on interests. Maybe map maker could create maps to help teach scripting, prim building?

Maybe with slight tweak to the map system the map there could be multiple maps, world map showing future planned construction areas. Custom map overlays showing bookmarked landmarks collected. The map is the most powerful tool and should always be updated and interesting. Should know where all public spaces are with a click. Maybe something like this. The only area I know how to spell in SL is bellisseria, oh (and horizons) lol but I think one is sansara? There's others lots of others. No long term name recognition for me. I've only been mall rating sl for close to 4 years. Maybe something more like this for official map overlay at like 390 meters and for people who want to advertise should be official supplies offered to do so and use at 400 meters.

I just found out about this event today, level up SL. Griding for loot games are the best! Explains some of the strange things I've seen traveling around recently. I saw a cake on a hill the other day was not sure what the heck, I'm trying to find that hill again to see if it's just a quirky thing or if someone lost a cake? If I'm in world usually working on my marketplace or sitting on a random park bench. This gives me more fun. Thank you all so much for doing this.

Never really realized that. I like the way you quoted the section. When I get those notices that post removed violated so and so, I assumed it was the SL Tos, because I'm afraid to click links. Would think if moderation had the time to message someone post has been removed here's link to the community guidelines, go figure out what you did wrong, they could be little more virtual and less typical and maybe say something like we hidden your post because it violates the following community guidelines: Vulgarity, Profanity, and Sexually Explicit Content: No name calling, expletives, or any language that is offensive, pornographic, or sexually explicit. Profanity, hate speech, or threats of violence are not permissible. Please revise and resubmit your post and don't forget to have a wonderful day.

I'm pretty sure it was on the no no list. It would be considered role playing? no idea.

Self Moderation In Progress...

Seems to be happening more and more. I was wondering why recent increase of users complaining so much about hidden posts. If I had to polish this system. I would take all those bad words that violate the ToS and I would associate them with the section of the ToS they apply to, so when someone attempts to have a converation and their post gets hidden a notification will pop up saying the following is in violation of This Part ToS (quote tos): Please revise and resubmit. And I would also like to beable to post my replies without waiting for a human to review my revision. If the bot that flagged me is okay with the revision what is the point.

No message what so ever the reply post I attempted was just pink and hidden. I guess the message that the post was removed by moderation and you have violated the ToS is pending for me now or will come when a human reviews and makes a judgement? If they are doing this to save time. Umm it's not going to work they are prolly bogged down with tons of pink messages they have to read and then they have to read the entire topic to put into context. I wish they would just let us fix our own problems. They have faith enough in us to learn the most complicated things but this is petty.

Yah I was listing a bunch of words that maybe useful for users teleporting to areas to know type of content in area. Honestly there were like 10 words and only 1 of them was flagged (which is a little strange to me.) I deleted the word and resubmitted and would not let me post. Apparently if it is pink and hidden it was because AI found something and flagged it for human review. By editing and correcting it did not change the status hidden. I pretty much had to delete the entire post and add .... because posts can not be deleted by users after they are created (unless moderation is contacted) and pasted into new one and was fine.

I hope that this system will be used to help educate users and give us the opportunity to self moderate vs using it to easily target and harass users without any effort or care.

I've never had that happen to me before and most of you know I don't hold back. I've been seeing a lot of complaints on this forum about hidden posts and thought they were just removed, had no idea the forum actually let users know they were hidden? Usually if my posts vanish before I assumed something was wrong with something I said and moved on or i'd get the you violated the ToS without given the chance to revise. Maybe this is something that is better maybe just needs some tweeks to help us understand what is happening.

This is the first time this has happened to me, might be forum update. I recently attempted to reply to a general topic and my post after submitting turned pink and had a hidden on it. ? How do I fix this so it's not pink and hidden?

I hope they bring trick or treat event back, it was epic. I tried to locate the official video from last years' great trick or treat event and could not find it on the SL Youtube page. I think it would be neat to have the candy buckets give random prizes, instead of who can get the most candy gets prizes. I like my skelebear just for participating. There's something extra magical about clicking something and winning a prize. OMG I just won a yacht! see where i'm going with this.

Noticed today while trying to access my feed from profile getting: "Sorry, this site is down for maintenance." Was not sure where to post this, there are a few different profile issue topics going on. I use the current official viewer. This is more of an fyi just in case not aware.

hopefully when they come out won't have to wait 3 months to get one, maybe they should start an rsvp list to make sure expectations are set initially, vs what happened before, no one wants to see that again.

I'm cool with LL knowing who I'm am. It's hard to believe how much damage can be done by pressing a hyperlink. Would think someone would have came up with some sort of link verification or something. Link hosts that are protected that can actually help everyone.

Ylands' moderators suggest using discord for official support & bugs. There's a trend with Roblox called cookie logging used to hack accounts by posting links in chat other users click (like click bait) and somehow their account becomes compromised. What would you do differently if LL starts collecting our data to sell or give it to 3rd parties? That was a big no go for me with Sansar, after making login and password, this very large popup prompted me over the login button / area saying something like "If you log in we will install cookies on your hard drive." I was like no your not and uninstalled and restored computer because likely those were installed before popup prompted me. Anything that wants me to click yes or no in order to proceed with viewing content I back out and clear browser cache and cookies. I would be more careful and report anything unusual to LL as I have always done.

I do! Lol! Me too, if it looks good in midday it will look good any way is my motto. I derender water, pause clouds and these are my normal settings. I don't really have to do this with any other program, so anything the experts think will make the cogs omega better is cool with me.

This sort of system appears to be brilliantly engineered, but why is what i'm wondering. To teach us? There's more than one way to do things? Nothing worthwhile is ever easy? I can see making a system more difficult for job security reasons. It's very common in the united states. Make things as confusing as possible so only you and maybe an assistant knows what is going on so others depend on only you for support. A platform built for builders with the most confusing everything is a little strange.

Yep and wondering if that's more processor friendly or demanding. Having to recalculate and render hundreds of objects around our cameras location at any given point. No wonder we all lag when we get together. If we all had stable LOD likely would not have that. I think what the viewers LOD system does is takes objects that are uploaded at a lower LOD makes them behave to act like objects that are uploaded at a higher LOD. The name of the game for me is to create objects with the lowest land impact as humanly possible while uploading the model at the higest lod. It's the best of both worlds. How objects are built has a lot to do with land impact. Consumers want lowest land impact. Our jobs as creators is to provide products with the lowest land impact uploaded at the highest quality. It makes us better builders learning to build better keeping land impact in mind. Anyone can upload a model that's lower LOD quality to keep the land impact down and I think more and more consumers are learning they can have quality with less quanity and can certainly tell if quantity does not have quality. The master builders know more tricks than I do because they have more experience.

Yep and as a creator at the time I upload my products I tell SL what LOD I want my products to be, which is normally high so even if someone has their viewers LOD low my products will never triangle out ever. I don't know what's worse, having a world full of objects that are the higest LOD or a world with objects with multiple levels of LOD containing several models constantly updating and changing depending on distance camera is from object? hmm
