  1. One simple fix to avoid physical abuse/contact that other platforms have been using for 20 years. Make avatars phantom, meaning if someone goes up and trys to bump another avatar they would just go through them as if the avatars were holograms. Or have a way to set the avatar if bumped more than once make phantom. But i'm sure AR people really enjoy dealing with those complaints for the past 19 years. SL can't even fix simple problems. Their dooming themselves.
  2. I would spend 1500$ for the pro hemet and 300$ extra for the controllers and prolly 50 for the cable that connects to the headset so I have more than 2 hours to play world of warcraft in a virtual space. But I won't use their helmet ever or controllers ever because they have cameras everywhere on them and all's they really want to do is scan our real world homes to figure out which ads to feed me. I would do anything for technology but I won't do that ever. Perfect cristmas present. Give the kid a helmet that will scan your house, your personal space, literally when they walk around. Don't forget to preorder. They ship Oct 25th.
  3. Legs will be released in 2023. They can't release the photorealistic avatars yet because it would scare people to see how realistic avatars will be, they have to do it slowly. Meta has partnered and is working with Microsoft to offer Xbox Game Pass (the netflix of games). Imagine being in your private home, with no limits for the amount of content you can add, furnishings, decorations, and securly play games with friends. It took Meta billions to fast forward 19 years year. Wild guess, Meta reps are not human, judging by their above average body language & gestures. That is not normal. Anytime we see a Meta rep speak, pretty sure we are seeing their avatars in action. I'm assuming they are driven by a human, they really need to update their AO. Watch his hands and arms, everyone at meta using this same AO.
  4. I'm going by information provided in this topic. I'm not going anywhere.
  5. that would be so cool if your telling the truth. tp next to me so I can take screen shot and post here with your permission.
  6. at least users with nothing better to do can still remotely track the online status and locations of "private" linden home users. Unless your a Linden, because only Lindens are currently allowed privacy... (or at least the Lindens who know better, the other Lindens can have such power when they are trusted?... I've learned way more than I should have.
  7. Ty for clearing that up. The linden homes used to use the words more privacy while back. Having hard time finding those exact words again. I would personally have worded it: personal space.
  8. The only other solution to provide true privacy would be for linden homes to also include a linden home office instance to an island office that is completely private and I would still like to appear offline. That's so grose. Right now SLusers do not have privacy. Only the Lindens have that.
  9. Or we can wait for online virutal privacy regulation. Thanks Meta.
  10. I'm following the current LL SL business model, premium users already get "more privacy via linden homes." Maybe it would work for every users If appear offline is selected at login screen, make everyone else appear offline as well. Then I was thinking could just get an alt to tell where people are. Yes people are going to try to misuse this. That should not prevent us from trying to come up with solutions.
  11. I'm not okay with users tracking other users. This should be broken. Oh we can't track our johns anymore. I can't can't bully a new users anymore. I can't collect data on users. Burn stalker islands down.
  12. How would simply appearing offline break bits of the "system"? It's not breaking the system for lindens to currently use it?
  13. Considering most of the objections, more and more users are using this solution to achieve privacy. Wonders (zap) how much that is costing LL to main. I bet most of would use appear offline the first day it was offered. There would be outrage by: stalkers, griefers, trolls, & crazies. It will break scripted objects/things: Things associated with Second Lifes's user's online status should be broken. This is a common sense privacy feature that should have been built in the first day SL was launched. Oh wait it was. I mentioned before, this sort of feature could be offered to premium users / paying customers initially. I think premium users are way less likely to somehow misuse our online status?
  14. Just equal industry standard privacy features they currently use. Sometimes I don't want to be bothered while working in world, suddenly i'm supreme parno afraid of termal imaging with serious grammar issues. I'm the last person that would open the grief troll flood gates on the world. This may close several of those gates. With careful development.
  15. i don't get it, is it bad? Edit: ohhh i get it this is a window and im a pain. lol
  16. that's deep. wispers message me if you would like some free samples I can message them to you (let me know which ones). That's a project that will keep me busy for a very long time. Extremly tedious.
  17. lol I don't like things listening for me either, I know people who enjoy them I don't fault them for that. I don't even like all the new technology in vehicles. I like basic, I have a gps think in my truck that takes up half my radio I have tried everything to get it back to full screen, goof that while updating time. Would think vehicles would auto update time changes or ask? (i'm going to sneek some vr stuff in since you said that) the pro met* thing people put on their heads in the near future will scan real life home rooms with cameras I saw them build virtual rooms based on our personal spaces it scans and builds and likely looks for products we use and don't use.) that scares me. No only do they want to scan our faces now they want to scan our spaces.
  18. pri·vate (of a place) quiet and free from people who can interrupt: Currently because there is no map privacy, private homes are not completely private are they?
  19. In real life if I go to for a walk and then entire world can watch my location on a map I would have a problem with that too. I get what your saying because i'm in public makes me public property.
