  1. I finally got my auto refresh working on Chrome. I had to set it to a random interval between 1 and 1 1/2 minutes. It only "triggered" twice for me this weekend, and both times I was not at the computer.
  2. Congrats to you. Right now, with the auto refresh limited to intervals greater than one minute, and the regions releasing during Western Hemisphere business hours, the chances of getting a home are minimal for those who work normal business hours in the US. And who has the time and patience to monitor the auto-refresh closely during all their non-work hours? It truly has just come down to a rare chance.
  3. This is not a lottery. This is more like bidding in a very active, confusing auction.
  4. In my opinion, a more orderly method would diffuse anger. People would likely still be grumpy, but with an orderly process, you don’t need to do anything further after the signup. This would relieve anxiety and reduce the obsessiveness. Just my opinion. And I don’t buy the hidden issues. I have demonstrated that a random drawing isn’t a big project and a waiting list would only require a few hours of a Linden’s time each week to manage.
  5. That’s the error page I got yesterday. I just triggered the refresh error today. The time limit is 10 refreshes every 10 minutes.
  6. Aren’t all of us premium members paying their salaries?
  7. Dear Moles, I appreciate all your hard work. I know the problems with the home release system are not your fault, that you all appear to be doing what you can to keep things moving along Signed, #SecondClassPayingCustimerStillWaiting,
  8. Users are “only” allowed to abandon 5x a day? This is somehow a problem?
  9. Not many. The whole thing was over in about a minute or less.
  10. Yeah, I’m a bit bitter but it’s honestly not worth all that. Instead, I will go home tonight, sip a glass of wine, work on a creative project and watch some fluffy KDrama episodes. The virtual world won’t see any of my $L tonight.
  11. This is really frustrating...four times I got to the “please wait while we prepare your Linden Home” screen and four times the next screen said my selection was sold out
  12. I have been running two iOS devices, one on 4G LTE and the other on cable internet. Haven’t seen anything other than one or two. And my iPhone XR which has been plugged in to power most of the day is nearly dead
  13. Saw one at that time. So it seems there has not been a release yet? Or do they release one or two at a time? If that’s the case I might as well just quit and dump premium for a while. I’ve lost two so far today because I was on mobile and they were each gone by the time I clicked the checkbox and hit the last button.
  14. I’ve been using this and an auto refresh app on iOS, but haven’t gad it on around releases. Going to try today. Never get to the abandoned ones e in time
  15. One day not long ago I was walking down the streets in an area of new Linden Homes and saw that someone had a huge backdrop up in their backyard. 🙄
  16. I finally saw one come up today on auto-refresh -around 4:50 pm EST. Since it was the first time I'd seen one, I fumbled around and didn't go through the process quickly enough. It was gone by the time I had clicked the checkbox.
  17. Well I guess I am back here as the thread I created was derailed and subsequently closed
  18. Folks, I started this thread in an attempt to put forth a potential solution (or, an alternate approach). I was really trying to brainstorm constructively (no pun intended). As the OP, I’d like to ask other participants to continue in that vein.
  19. Luna-there is still the problem of people who work normal business hours in Western Hemisphere time zones mostly being shut out of this process.
  20. Thank you!!! Me personally, no. I am temporarily renting land. I am specifically interested in being part of the new Linden Homes community,
  21. Regarding the resources needed to get a lottery in place - coming from the perspective of a web developer, it’s not a huge project, signup located behind the login. There’s got to be a flag in the user database for premium users, so they are the only ones that see the page. Signup form for lottery sends user id to a db table of those participating in lottery. On release day the home info is imported into a dB table. Code picks up how many home entries are in table and how many people are in the entry dB table. A random number generator is run for x unique numbers which corresponds to number of available homes with the numbers falling into the range of number of entered users. Each selected number is matched to user id and notification is sent. Current process for recording Linden home selection is used to add home info to user dB. User is dropped from lottery dB table. I may have missed a step or generalized too much, but that’s basically what it takes.
