In the basement of the old Governor's Mansion on Clementina there is a 2003 photograph of a very famous avatar wearing a grid to figure out where to paint clothes on their Ruth base avatar. One can do the same thing today, and look like 2003. I mention Blender in this category because it is free and provides a competent swiss army knife blend of so many 3D tools. I recommend against people spending years of their life getting good at doing things the old SL way--that is painting flat UVs in PhotoShop or GIMP. There are so many better tools available now that let one work directly in 3D.

I have some one name alts that will be getting a last name. I have a two-name alt with a first name that seemed like a joke at the time; I'll get her a new first-name if I can keep the old last-name. I thought I read or saw on one of the meeting videos that they were considering letting people change their first-names only if they wanted to keep their existing last name (resident or otherwise).
