Check the TPV link given earlier and you will see there is a text-only viewer for iOS devices.

MetaChat MetaChat iOS - TEXT ONLY - Second Life® client.

And this is not about dominant or not, it´s about the complexity to port windows functions to iOS.

Android viewers "easily" can use part of the code from original viewers or the great great openmetaverse library whereas
    iOS doesn´t understand this code.

Windows phones. Well ... MS is even more rough and strict about developing apps for their devices. (XBox too)

I had forgotten about MetaChat.  After going an looking at their web site, I do remember reading there when they were still working on getting the app approved in the App Store.  Glad to see that they were able to get it working and approved.

  2. What was it that was updated?  If it was the body, was there an updated HUD that came with it?

You might try rezzing a new copy of the HUD, or getting a redelivery of the latest body/HUD and rezzing a new copy of the HUD,  to see if that fixes it.  (Also make sure you're in an area with scripts enabled.)

  3. Look to see if there is an "adjust" option for the item you're interacting with. Sometimes the 'adjust' is an option on a dialog box for the item, or sometimes there is not dialog box but the item may say something like "type 1/adjust in local to adjust pose", or there may not be an option at all.  The pose or animation was expecting a taller avatar, it sounds like.

  4. I think it's really up to the 3rd party developer market to develop an IPhone and/or iPad viewer for SL.  There used to be a very basic one back in 2014, when I first started.  At some point it was removed from the app store - I'm not sure if it was changes with IOS. the app store, or with the LL viewer API or lack of interest which caused it to be removed from the market.  There have been several attempts by 3rd parties for some type of 'streaming' service (the UI ran on their servers and was displayed on a PC or tablet) but I don't know if any of those are around or not and they were not free to use - the first one I remember did have an IPad app, though it was pretty clumsy to use the viewer controls.

  5. There have been multiple instances of issues with logins this afternoon.  I think, right now, people are starting to be able to log in again.  There is some delay between when an issue is first noticed, and when their status page gets updated. Also, when it is back up again, everyone trying to all log back in at the same time can also cause some bottlenecks in the process, I think.

  6. I don't usually reply very often to posts in this category, but I wanted to wish you luck with your search.  Many times people with the traits you are looking for are just far too humble to list those traits among their characteristics - it may take some careful reading of responses to tease them out.

I wonder if there is somewhere we can go to begin filing a 'Class Action Lawsuit' for money loss over rented land or anyone who pays sim tier and cannot login, to see about getting LL to abandon Sansar to fix this mess.

I fail to see what Sansar does or does not have to do with this situation.

Do all your other online services provide refunds for whenever they are not available?

  8. Your best bet in finding someone familiar with that type of system, would probably be a vendor group, if there is one, or a group for a sim or place in which a lot of people use that type of system.

  9. I replied  already on your other thread, but I was curious as to why you don't want to link a paypal account or a credit card.   If you're worried that you wouldn't be self-disciplined enough to not spend more than you're comfortable spending, or more than some 'limit' that you set for yourself, you probably should not even do a "one time only" purchase of lindens.

  10. While it is nice to have lindens to spend, it is not required.  It will take some work and time, but you can search out places with dressing rooms to set you home to for free (often need to join a group, which is usually free also),  search out blogs that highlight free gifts or events that have gifts (which aren't always free, but many times are if you join the event group), do hunts and pick up free items that way.  Also find places which have group gifts that you like, that have free to join groups, and join those groups.  Also, periodically some groups that normally cost to join will have a couple of days here and there where the group join fee has been removed.  It is possible, with some time spent, to even get a mesh body, nice skin, nice hair and nice clothes.

You could play at Linden Realms collecting crystals to earn a few linden for the occasional item you want that is not free.

Also keep an eye on some of the busy conversational style threads here - or the "picture" threads - often when there is a bargain some place, a free group join period, or some other great free gift, someone will mention it in one of the forum threads. A lot of times in the Vanity thread, if someone is wearing something that was a free gift, they will mention that in the 'credits' for their picture, so that's another way to keep an eye out for things you might like.

  11. Just curious, when your friend has voice turned on (through Preferences -> Sound & Media  "Voice chat"  enabled box checked, does a white dot show up above their head? and can they hear other people speaking using voice chat?  Is their slider bar for voice chat  volume turned up (near the right end of the slider bar)?

On Preferences -> Sound & Media -> Voice do they have the "toggle speak on/off when I press" check box checked and perhaps haven't toggled speak on?

These might seem like the most obvious things, but often it's the most obvious things that are overlooked.

  12. AnneMarie's vehicles were an eyesore - and I think a couple of them puffed a lot of smoke into the air as well.  I lived roadside on the mainland in several different locations for quite awhile - in places that had AnneMarie's vehicles when they were still around, and had the yava pods.  I don't mind the yava pods - I do ride on them from time to time, and I like the information that they provide about points of interest along their routes.  I also like the ferries and the relatively more recent autonomous vehicles in Bay City.

  13. I haven't heard of anyplace that has free stores either.

Are you a premium member?  If you are, you could buy a 512 m2 parcel on mainland, which would be free from tier (after the purchase cost) and put a store on it.  The other thing would be to look for rental space in a mall as Claire suggested above.

Are you certain about the MP taking half of the lindens?  I know there is a commission, but I didn't think it was that high a percentage.

They do (did) get in the way. Some of them were quite large, which was very bad. I'm not all that sure that phantom would work all that well, because the vehicle coming the other way wouldn't know and would be trying to get out its way. If it's small, and moving only on one side of the road it wouldn't be bad, but the other person's vehicles were all over the road, and some were pretty big.

It took me awhile to figure out those were unattended automatic driving vehicles.

@lucagrabacr if I remember correctly, a lot of the complaints for these many vehicles this one person operated were that they didn't always travel smoothly - they kind of jerked around on the road like a very drunken driver (even worse than my driving here), they were very ugly, they would get 'stuck' a lot either on abandoned land or crash on people's parcels...  There were people that offered suggestions to her for improving the vehicle scripting, which she rejected.  I believe that she had several parcels form which the vehicles would launch (so they were rezzed on private land belonging to her, before heading out onto the LL road).

  15. I'm a bit on the sentimental side.  My desk was my grandmother's desk.  I'm not sure when she got it, but I remember it at her house when I was a little girl back in the early 1960's, and it's likely that she may have had it since the 1940's or 1950's.   I don't have much of an office space - just a little area in the living room where I have a clear view of the living room, most of the dining room, and the 2 or 3 little munchkins that are usually here during the week days.

In my experience a locked door keeps 999 out of 1,000 wannabe intruders out. 990 of them aren't SL savvy enough to realize you can get past a locked door, the other nine are kept out by the psycological effect,

If you are unlucky enough to encounter tat person no. 1,000 who won't respect a locked door and knows how to get around it, well I suppose stronger measures are called for. The most effective method is probably tostart as a DJ or club host and keep tp'ing the intruders to your gigs.

Very true, my point though was that I no longer get all worried, if my current house doesn't have a locked door.  My current house doesn't have a locked door, nor do the doors close by themselves, so it seems half the time when I TP away or log off, I've left with the doors wide open.

I like the idea about TP'ing intruders to one's gigs :)
