  1. While I was there trying out the Happy Dispatch HUD, which didn't work so well honestly since the open mouth animations made my mouth look kind of mule-like , I thought I would try the Facial AO that came with the GA.EG head I usually wear. It is a separate HUD from the head HUD and it works! Well, mostly -- the biting lip animation looks awful, but everything else looks great. Now maybe I'll have to buy the ninja AO from there instead! Here's a sample look with one of the Egozy skins.
  2. I just picked up one of those today too! It is lovely! Don't know if I will cough up the cash for the AO but I do love the basic look of the head. The eyelashes do not seem to fit the eyes well on the other hand....
  3. Thanks Talli! Now I gotta find some gorgeous sims that let me rez stuff...
  4. Awesome, that's kind of what I was looking for -- a quick and dirty hack! ETA: This does still require a pose adjustment HUD. Yes, that's what you said I can see now... Without it I can only move around some placeholder for a few scripts.... ETA some more: after playing around a bit, the Anypose HUD by itself does let me move my avi about. Enabling Avatar->Character Tests->Allow Select Avatar only lets me select a place holder for some scripts like "alpha cuts listener" "attributes listener" ... and doesn't select the whole avi even with the Anypose HUD attached. Does your advice only work for a "standard" non-mesh body?
  5. Thanks Lillith! I will give Animare and the links for pose balls a try! I do agree that too much complexity in a tool makes it harder to use, especially if it has an unwieldy HUD that blocks too much of the scene. My only concern about pose stands and pose balls is that they require rez rights in the sim (don't they?) and many sims seem to be setup without them, for obvious reasons of their owners not wanting to pick up the trash after visitors.
  6. Thanks for the tip, I will have to try the demo. I was hoping maybe to find something a little cheaper perhaps... Might there be a tool just for positioning an avatar without all of the adjustments to the pose itself (even though those would no doubt be useful!)?
  7. Hi! I am having a bit of trouble with avatar positioning for photos and was wondering what others do to solve this problem. The problem is putting my avi someplace exact relative to the objects around in the sim when I am in some pose or other. I'd like, for example, to be able to sit on the edge of a rock but find that if I use a pose and then move around with the arrow keys I can't get very precise positioning. The movement keys seem to have a minimum amount they will move unlike the camera controls which are much more precise. And this is not to mention the problem with moving relative to more solid objects that won't let me get quite close enough to make contact. I can get vertical positioning pretty good using the hover height slider in Firestorm, but horizontal positioning is hit or miss. Is there some tool, or some native Firestorm controls I missed, that can take an avatar in some arbitrary pose and move it around wherever you want? Thanks!
  8. Thank you! I love it too! It's from Rezology and so it's tintable too... And yeah, showing off my big "hair" too!
  9. Body: Slink - Physique Head, Makeup, Hairbase, Piercings: GA.EG -- Barbara, Bento Skin: Lumae, Niska, Satin -- Ice Queen Hair: Rezology, Silver Dress: Aleutia, Monica Shoes: Insomnia, Platform Heavy Boots Tattoo: Artisanna, Milky Way Location: Fairy Forest Qee West
  10. Wandering around Fairy Forest today playing with windlights...
  11. It is most likely a version of the hair that will fit over Lolas brand add-on breasts.
  12. If you are using Firestorm there is a much bigger slider available --- I am assuming you are using the one in quick prefs. Right click on your avatar, choose "appearance" and then "hover height." That opens up a much bigger slider than in the quick prefs.
  13. Dress: Pizazz, Arizona Hair: Diva, Lili Tattoo: Artisanna, Milky Way Body: Slink, Physique Head, Makeup, Piercings: GA.EG, Barbara bento Location: LEA1: fire realm (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/LEA1/83/104/22) -- fantastic sim even if the air realm just about melted my GPU
  14. Sending kind thoughts to all those in harm's way from this next round of storms meteorological and political... May you be safe and protected, peaceful and happy!
  15. If you can cough up a few hundred lindens to join each group 7 deadly skins and Wow skins have lots of gift skins that are nice quality and many of them have the system & Omega versions. I'm sure others have good recommendations too!
  16. The applier is for the body, the system head needs a new system skin to match the applier skin. If you end up getting a mesh head make sure it also works with Omega -- that may require a second Omega relay (unless you get a Slink head or one with built in Omega compatibility). Demo, demo, demo before buying a new head. As I mentioned, you don't need a mesh head with the Slink body to solve your skin issue. You just need a skin that includes BOTH a system skin and an Omega applier and there are plenty of those around. Sometimes skin makers sell the applier separately, sometimes it's all bundled in a package.
  17. Sounds to me like you need a skin that has both a system skin and an Omega applier (plus the slink Omega relay -- you add the HUD and maybe click it first to let the system know it's there then the Omega skin applier will put the skin on your body, hands and feet.) I used that setup -- Slink hands, feet and body with a system head for a while and it worked just fine. The only time I ever saw that big hands and feet thing was with a demo shape or skin (I forget which).
  18. Thanks! Yes I love the cold too, just not quite ready for it yet! The dress is from Pizazz, it's called Zelda, it's got a nice HUD with many different styles.
