  1. IBTL I said, either here or the other thread, that I agree with info being accessible to all. No argument there, and happy to know it's been addressed. The point was not missed. My recent concern was in reference to Patch's comment bolded above, posted in this same thread. (Agree with locking it though. Too many other worse paths this could take.)
  2. What I am not seeing, unless they're using a different terrain texture, is mountains. Maybe some of the green regions will have mountain ranges?
  3. This makes me sad. As I've said before, one of the things I love most about Bellisseria is the interaction - both as a community and with the people who are actually building it. I thought the Soonβ„’ hints were fun, and like many others looked forward to the Soon-O-Meter dialing up a notch. Sure, it's a very small thing relatively speaking, but it gave us that little bit of anticipation and whimsy. Not to mention we swiped it for a standard reply to the multiple daily queries. Mostly, though, I really and truly hope the interaction with the Lindens and Moles doesn't go away. This is what makes the whole thing extra-neat to me, and hearing little bits about how things are created/scripted/etc makes me appreciate the process that much more. And the random goofing around on occasion is great - it puts a human face on the staff (no offense intended to the non-humans.)
  4. I wonder if "Hook Temder" is deliberate or a typo for "Tender."
  5. Dibs on Log Dump! πŸ˜†
  6. Maybe call your provider directly and see if they're offering anything? Or see if you can pick up an Xfinity wifi hotspot?
  7. Re: topic: I'm in the inworld Citizens group. I enjoy it, and appreciate the interaction we get from the blue-texters. Having said that, I agree with this and the other posts suggesting pertinent info be on an official channel/thread/etc for everyone to read. Misinformation spreads faster than facts and it would be nice when someone asks for the umpteenth time about releases to have an official link to give them for info, even if it's a quick blurb from Patch. I'm glad he does drop in there, and enjoy the Moles chatting time to time because it's not something I've experienced before in the years I've been in SL. But if they want to maximize the publicity and avoid rumors, it should be info accessible to everyone.
  8. I live in a rural area with only one viable option for internet, and it's slow. So the following won't apply to me, but it might for you. In light of recent RL events many providers are upping their speeds, opening their WiFi hotspots to the public, and offering low-cost internet options. Some companies are lifting data caps. Comcast/Xfinity, for one, and Sprint and T-Mobile for cell service. Maybe one of those would help you, if temporarily. Article with list (may contain ads)
  9. 1. Themed areas 2. The landscaping and terrain are great, aside from those nuclear-green traditional hedges. I like natural terrain, and hate it when people flat-top all the rolling hills into giant blocks (or, failing that, use 20m-tall green prims to get that flat surface instead of building for the land forms.) A smooth transition between parcels/regions looks so much better. 3. Did anyone say "no ban lines" yet? πŸ˜„
  10. The ducks were in my yard... I think that makes me the crazy neighbor. πŸ˜„ And you live next door! πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ Want some ducklings?
  11. What happens when you mention around certain LDPW members that the ducks in the Victorian demo didn't migrate to the actual regions? You get ducks, that's what. LOUD ducks. 🀣 Logged in to this today: And one in the tub too:
  12. Rivers that are at the same water height as the ocean, that run through the land mass, these still work I assume. (Since there's one on the new Vic area.) I have noticed the blue lines where the water height difference is. It doesn't go away with different WL, and changing draw distance just moves the "lines" around. It's too bad there's no workaround for it because the inland water features in BellSouth the First are really nice. The lines are most noticeable on the regions that are one region inland from a waterside/ocean region, but once you cross into the actual waterside region they disappear. I'm glad it's being addressed going forward, as it is truly annoying to have one's view ruined by those lines/water gaps. And the new Vics look great! I'm hoping for more "islandy" areas like Wuthering Downs and Highmarket.
  13. The region named Wood was skipped/not released. Maybe "wood" is the clue? Woods? Log homes? Just throwing stuff out there.
  14. Do flying whales exceed the height limit? It's having a whale of a time up there, circling round the house.
  15. It has been a museum since 2015. LL created a preservation group specifically for the Galaxy and removed all the commerce from the ship (adboards, stores, etc.) A few mesh pieces have been added but there are still empty spaces and rooms. I suggested last night that they use the original furnishings for continuity, but swap out the poseballs for AvSitter.
  16. @Mitch Merricks the managing director of the Galaxy for its first 8 years dropped in to visit last night. The ship was moved a few times - I believe he said 3 in his time on board, and two more since LL acquired it (the recent move to Belli being one of those.) He also has a blog here: http://ssgalaxynews.blogspot.com/ No updates since 2015, but some interesting pics. While I'm among those who wonder why it's in such close proximity to the LH, and agree with the idea of putting a region's distance between it and the residents, I love having her in Bellisseria for the time being. (Derrick Linden did say they were trying out this location "for a bit" so it's possible she won't remain here.) It's a fun mashup of the new and the old, though. I admit to being one of the first on board and staying for several hours just to soak up the nostalgia. There are of course some who believe she should remain in the Blake as a local attraction/landmark, and others who feel Bellisseria should have modernized attractions, but there were more people on board in those few hours last night than the ship has seen in years.
  17. This makes me happy, knowing that the SS Galaxy is sticking around. This is a vintage piece of SL history, one of my favorites in fact. In past years I've rented rooms there, utilized the sushi bar and pool, and danced in the ballroom, but mostly just loved to go see the scale model on display and ride an actual *working* SL elevator. πŸ˜„ Considering her age she's still impressive.
  18. Now that the houseboats are off the page for the most part, someone may have a good shot at this. A friend is releasing a super nice HB location in Pegleg Channel, square parcel, next to lighthouse at 10:05 AM SLT. ETA: in maintenance
  19. In Firestorm viewer, two other options to derendering individual objects are edit - drag box around multiple objects - right click - blacklist from pie menu, and area search by owner name - select all in list - right click - blacklist. Not as handy as a "derender all on parcel" feature but quite useful.
  20. I found the Hatfield/McCoy line of scrimmage.
