Me too, as an edge backdrop behind real trees to make the forest look deeper, and the other side of the wall is always transparent.

SL has gotten incredibly boring
Rick Nightingale replied to 1xXM1M1Xx1's topic in General Discussion Forum
And vice versa. (Disclaimer... yes, even I'm bored sometimes... but not as a general state ... boring can in fact be underrated... there are times in my life that a bit of boredom has been very welcome!) Edit: Rick Nightingale goes back to making knickers to prevent boredom. -
SL has gotten incredibly boring
Rick Nightingale replied to 1xXM1M1Xx1's topic in General Discussion Forum
Rick Nightingale takes a deep breath, inhaling the earthy aroma of the surrounding, moist woodland, his face illuminated by the dappled evening light finding its way through the dense summer leaf growth. Looking around at the scantily-clad group of wood elves that gathered around him excitedly when he arrived with...... wait a minute... group??? Hey, you, wake up and stop that snoring... tell me, where did every one else go? I was just getting started... Rick Nightingale pinches himself, because that nearly sent him to sleep! erm... Hello! -

The only thing that's getting boring about SL is people complaining about SL getting boring... -
The way I and my wife do it is usually to use a shoe base, saved with each outfit, as others have said. That seems the simplest way and we've tried them all. You can even just make your own show base: right-click in inventory:new clothes:shoes. Then wear it. A show base is technically an old system 'shoe', but you set the fabric to Transparent, then play with the Platform height and Heel height sliders while wearing your outfit. Adjusting them is a bit annoying because when editing, it always seems to change a bit when you come out of edit mode so you have to go back to edit and tweak it a bit more. It's still the simplest answer for something that will work most of the time, saved with an outfit. Mesh floors can be a pain because depending on how the maker uploaded them to SL, the physics 'surface' of the floor might be actually the visible surface (well done maker), or it might be 10cm above that (maker needs to learn a few things, or had no choice for some reason). No way you can account for that except to adjust your hover on the fly, or change shoe bases to account when you notice it. You could even put shoe bases into Firestorms 'Favourite Attachments' button, or whatever that is called, for quick access. Name them by height or something. I do make and sell a thing... I don't usually mention it because it's self-promoting, but it is relevant here. It's a HUD that manages attaching and detaching anything you can wear, at the click of a HUD button (which links to a folder containing the thing or things in inventory). One of its functions is that you can set a custom hover height for each button, so whenever you wear that button's items, it sets that hover height automatically. Or you could put different shoe bases on the buttons, possibly with the complete outfits. It only works in Firestorm though, and requires you to enable RLVa because that's the only way to access inventory from a script. It's a lot more than you are probably looking for and is complex to set up initially if you aren't familiar with such things, although I have many thousands of happy users. If you think it's interesting, shoot me a message. Don't really want to say more here because... self promoting. All that said, the simplest answer just for your issue is still the first one.

PBR Texture Change HUD
Rick Nightingale replied to DellaMay Celestia's topic in General Discussion Forum
If they could both be set without having to read and re-set all the other parameters too, that would save 75% of my code! -

Don't know if you found what you were looking for yet, but WellMade just posted this in the group, at L$75 for the fatpack. Foxy N. doesn't usually rate their stuff that much but likes this, especially at the price:

Absolutely love this shot!

Finally got to play with Sun-Woo; this is after just a minute's shape tweaking of my current usual (human) shape and skin. I think that both of these heads are really good:

Not what I guess you are seeing. I'm on the PBR Firestorm beta with all graphics settings on high. This is what I see close up, with a blank BOM eye texture: Close up like that, you can see the flat front of the mesh at the centre, but I don't think that's what you mean.

I've just noticed there's still a picture of this avatar at Jomo. -
It's the drawback of AK (and any other evox) heads versus real LeLutka heads. It's possible to make an HD applier for AK and there is some out there, but nowhere near as much as there is for LeL. Unfortunately there is no way to make a converter; both HD systems are proprietary and independent from each other. From LeL's point of view, I guess it means people are more likely to buy their own heads than others which just use the same evox UV map.

I'm actually surprised no has got this. I didn't expect it to take more than an hour for someone to come along who recognized it. -

Not any more... but once upon a time... No mods or anything like that, it's just the plain body with one of the supplied skins, and some hair. -

No, but thank you for the reminder; I had forgotten about them. -

Sorry for the confusion; it's an all-in-one body/head/even the legs. Nope -
Quick competition with a prize...
Rick Nightingale replied to Rick Nightingale's topic in General Discussion Forum
Nope. @Modulated got the maker with Jomo. I'll give it until later tonight in case someone gets the exact body name as well... then call it quits. So far, if no-one gets the name @Modulated is going to get the prize, and will anyway for getting half way there... so we could have a second winner yet! No clues on the name. I'll only say if you get it exactly right -

I don't think it's around any more. I got it in 2014... and it's still a good avatar today.
