  1. Well, this is what my neighbors did. As you can see, I'm selling the land. I tried to make it obvious to let him know if it means that much, he can buy it. Lesson learned. I don't think I will ever live on mainland again. I'll pay the extra price for private with a covenant.

    How?

You can buy or rent some land and build your club on it. You will have to pay monthly cash if you buy land on the mainland. You will not pay monthly cash if you rent from someone.
  3. Yes, I am so pleased with the result. I still haven't found any applier undershirts but I am looking. I will be happy when I can buy some of the more risque shirts and use the undershirt.
  4. Pixieplumb Flanagan wrote: If you are using the Lara body you could wear applier jeans under your sweater Thank you so much. I found some for L$1 on the marketplace. This let me buy the sweater I fell in love with.
  5. Am I reading this correctly? I could buy L$10,000 for $40.09 or I could put in a buy limit and pay $38.43? Do you really save only $1 doing it this way?
  6. Total Complexity: 35,078 Body: Maitreya Hands/Feet: Slink Head: Logo Sadie (plus appliers to Maitreya and Slink) Hair: Truth Hair - Freya Ugh, I obviously have more than enough complexity to spend on shoes... but.. why bother? At least in this world, I can wander everywhere barefoot without getting dirty feet!
  7. I think you all raise some really good points, especially about fiting into the community instead of carving out my own little oasis. Perhaps I need to stick to a private parcel, like on an island if I can't find a community where I'd fit in.
  8. Well, the guilt kind of started eating at me as well as the knowledge that my home looked like a noob made it. Well.. a noob did make it. So I put it up for sale. I might make a small profit. I'd love to rent at from an estate. I found one that I fell in love with, but it was L$1,500 for an inland plot and $L1,750 for a water front. The sizes were a little bigger than I needed, so I guess I just need to keep searching. For now, my plot is up for sale and I'm renting a sky platform and I put a nice skybox I like in it.
  9. Would anyone happen to know of any guides that explain the process of renting out skyboxes? I know how to: - Buy land - Deed to group - Understand tier system - Raise a skybox I have CasperLet as a rental system. What I don't understand is: - How to separate skybox permissions/prim allowances and do security systems, if that is standard practice. Say I raise three sky boxes on one parcel. I don't understand how to set the above things for each skybox on the same land. Thank you for any advice. Update: Do most rental places put multiple boxes on one lot, or do they put one box and factor that into the rent. For example, renting out a skybox on a 512 land with a prim allowance of whatever is left after you put the necessities up. Does it make it easier to do it that way? What is the going rental rate for prim allowance? Is it L$1 per prim?

  11. Can you tell us a little bit more about yourself and what you are looking for?
  12. I'm confused about the profile feed pictures. Can I only upload "snapshots" directly in game? Why can I not seem to take multiple snapshots and choose? Why; when I zoom into first person, and take a snapshot, the snapshot is actually third person?
  13. Thank you wherorangi. Wow, I'm begining to really look forward to your replies. You have such helpful posts. I took your advice exactly and am very pleased with my increased land limit/prims and stipend (plus eventually the sign up bonus.)
  14. Your words give me a lot to ponder. A beachy theme wasn't really what I was looking for. I really wanted a foresty/zen type area with water view. There are some amazing private islands that fit my wants perfectly, but are just too expensive. The reason for the privacy screens are things like this. I know my space is very primative, but I've only owned land for less than a week and there's a lot to learn and many objects to find to perfect it.
  15. I totally agree with that assessment and love the clarification on the biology of whales. We can all agree they can be Itty bitty fishies for the sake of this discussion
  16. Thank you so much for your kind words! They mean so much. While my age might seem young, as I said, I was actually in SL when it first came out. I've returned off and on. I've ALWAYS kept up with SL, waiting for it to get better and better and also looking for the next big fish to replace it. I became interested in virtual worlds as soon as I was introduced to the internet. I went from chatrooms to text based online games to eventually MMOs and virtual worlds like SL. I am very passionate about this genre. I have such high hopes for the future of VR and virtual worlds in general. Technology is amazing. It just saddens me a little to see so many traditional MMOs advancing leaps and bounds and the leader in virtual worlds seems to cautious and hesitant to move forward. I just KNOW LL could make something even more amazing than SL.
  17. It takes 45 days to get the bonus lindens. You can choose your house from your account page. Go to the premium section.
  18. The editing offline is VERY interesting and changes a lot.
  19. Are there any chat hot spots that are a coffee or tea house themed? Some of my favorite one have dissappeared since the last time I was in SL =(
  20. Greetings. A little about me: - 29 year old female - Married irl (Not looking for anything other than FRIENDSHIP!!!) - I do not RP - I live in the US, Central Standard Time - In SL, I enjoy KittyCats, shopping, decorating my home, socializing, and exploring interesting sims - In RL, I enjoy reading, movies and TV, video games (MMOs, RPGs, Horror), dancing (with a hula hoop), and traveling If it sounds like we might be a good match, hit me up in game. I have been spending most of my time working on my home and trying to set up a skybox or two to rent out since I have more prims than I need.
  21. I think who LL is targeting the most is the people who are actually going to spend money. So they care most about not just the casual players who never spend anything. They care about the money makers. Many people are not going to be able to afford to invest in both realms. And even those who could, if half the usebase is in each game, you are only reaching a small fraction of your potential audience. If you have everyone together in one place, the product is going to increase interest because people are actually playing in it/talking about it on the web/advertising it basically. More people playing equals more money for everyone involved. I think people are more likely to spend less money in a game that feels like it's dying. Also, LL is in an unparelled advantage to really take the world by storm with the VR innovative technology. Lots of people are just now getting into it and the full possibilities are unknown. LL has made a name for breaking through hurdles and creating the unimagined possibilities that exist today.
  22. I'm actually satisfied with SL as it is as well. I just wish more people played. And there's many reasons why they don't. It's such a huge world that can feel very lonely at times.
  23. I like and use the outfits feature. I try to change every day I log in. Sometimes I don't want to spend much time going through my inventory mixing and matching. Sometimes I do. So I like that the feature is there when I need it.
  24. Wow. Thank you for all of the feedback. I really thought most would advise me to sell out of curtousy.
