  1. I was run over by that bus today - flattened my poor kitty body right out. It's still there, lurking and waiting.
  2. I think this will go down as one of the least quoted SL forum threads in history. And the most likely thread to never be missed.
  3. Once Tilia is part of Thunes, Thunes will set the price for a money transfer. LL will have no say because they no longer own Tilia/Thunes. LL will be standalone company, with Oberwolf (Oberwager) as it's CEO. My point is, will Thunes still charge an excessive transfer fee for a 10-15 day wait time for electronic transfers, like Tilia is doing now? Charging a 5% fee with a $3 min charge and $500 max fee is still high even for an instant transfer, although I would willing to pay that for an instant transfer. But not a transfer that could be faster by mailing a check via the postal system like the dark ages.

  7. LL has no influence on paypal fees, only at their own. I said nothing about LL fees or their influence on Paypal fees. Tilia charges a fee to transfer Tilia$ to Paypal. Since Brad Oberwager is the CEO of both LL and Tilia at this time, he can decide on the Tilia fee structure as its CEO. The Thunes CEO will set those fees when Tilia becomes Thunes. At my location in the USA the Tilia fee for a Process Credit is: 5% fee (minimum $3.00 USD fee, maximum $500.00 USD fee ) At one time the fee was near zero and it has kept increasing over the years. I pay $25 USD in fees to Tilia to transfer $500 USD to Paypal. This fee is determined by Tilia. And when Thunes replaces Tilia, Thunes will determine the fee for transfers to Paypal, digital wallets, bank accounts, credit cards, etc. These fees might be more or less than today. That is why I said nothing should change until 2025. Of course Tilia could change the fees before the buyout, though that seems unlikely. This is what we get for that 5% fee from Tilia to Paypal: How long does it take to process credits? If approved, the request will be subject to a fee (the “Process Credit Fee”) payable to Tilia, and the credit will be processed within approximately five (5) to ten (10) business days* following the request. Some requests may take up to thirty (30) days to process. * Monday through Friday, not including US holidays. I can transfer funds from Paypal to my Bank, or from my Bank to Paypal for NO CHARGE, with only a 2 day transmission delay.
  8. Nothing said about Paypal fees, going in or out either. Or cheaper alternatives. I suspect nothing will change until Thune takes over in 2025, after all regulatory approvals.
  9. We should be good now until at least Monday morning, when a moderator closes the thread for drifting back to AP.
  10. He also said he won't increase fees unless LL's costs go up (paraphrasing). I guess we can all hope for worldwide Deflation in the future.
  11. I am not surprised. You might want to look at Qie's rough transcription of what Oberwolf said, above. Seems we both heard the same thing. I was not quoting Oberwolf exactly, of course. Summarizing comments is something reporters also do.
  12. Guess I will comment without taking notes and just watching the lab gab once (so I could be wrong): LL sold Tilia because "it didn't work out, was too expensive to operate, and SL was their only customer." Sounds like Tilia was not profitable, and needed a rescue. Thunes was the ideal suitor because they offered a worldwide money transmitter network that Tilia did not have, and agreed to a 5 year contract favorable to LL and Tilia employees. The proceeds from the Tilia sale will be used where ever it will increase SL income, and/or increase new users. (Or it could all go into Treasury Bills.) Don't worry about security of your account, because Thunes will only control your money, and not your personal preferences/information in SL. Because each state has to approve this new money transmitter company, the time frame before Tilia becomes Thunes is 5 to 9 months. Or January 2025 if all goes well. This is confusing, since we heard the reason for Thunes wanting Tilia was Tilia was already approved as a money transmitter in the 48 states and territories. Anything else of substance, other than the expected enthusiasm about this deal from Oberwolf?
  13. Two main questions answered, why sell Tilia, and when will Thunes actually happen. Interesting, and there should be some good summaries from bloggers coming soon. We can all relax until 2025 I think.
  14. Which has nothing to do with the present conversation. The sun is shiny too, unless it's cloudy or nightime. Tilia has not been removed from any Linden Lab chart yet. And there have been no companies listed since last August for the LL management chart. There is no company listed for the Second Life management either. Does this mean Second Life is sold too?
  15. Sorry, but as I said, the company associations meant nothing because they were inconsistent all along. And after August 2023, there were NO company associations listed. I blame this on the web page designer, who probably was never told who belonged to what company. Probably a gig worker hired for one week. Tilia employees are STILL Tilia employees until the final papers are signed, and then they will be Thunes employees, no longer part of Linden Lab. But until then Tilia exists as does their employees. Once Thunes owns Tilia they will change their name to Thunes, also called rebranding. And Thunes gains a shiny new office in San Francisco, only their second office in the States so far. I am sorry Love is so confused by images that he thinks it's a cartoon for kids.
  16. The Jan 6, 2024 page I referenced, and the present page for https://lindenlab.com/about are identical. If two pages are identical, then how can one of them be "not true"? I fail to follow your logic that 1 does not equal 1. Do I need to show screen shots of both the present and Jan 6 Management to show they are the same? If you are thinking that a lack of a title means anything, than the last time Tilia was shown after a management position was on August 11, 2023. In this case two Tilia employees had Tilia, and two did not. And two of the LL employees showed Second Life after their position, and two did not. This all means absolutely nothing at all. Here are the August 11, 2023 Management Positions: And here are the Management positions on Dec 25, 2023: Starting in 2024 the Management has not changed after two SL VP level positions were eliminated at the first of the year, and there are two apparent promotions to Sr VP in SL.
  17. There has been no change in that management list since Jan 6, 2024. Three Tilia managers, two LL managers, Brad and the General Counsel who works with both LL and Tilia is the present listing. The last change was on Dec 25, 2023, when two LL managers vanished. https://web.archive.org/web/20231225132519/https://lindenlab.com/about
  18. No. The topic should be, newbies need to watch up to date YouTube videos about SL that do not look for addictive personalities. Just ask the oldies why they have been in SL for 17 years. This 45 min video was featured last year before the SL20B celebration. I know it's somewhere in an old thread, but worth watching again this year.

  20. Thunes calls it's customers, partnerships. I expect Thunes made that 5 yr obligation from LL to use and pay for their service. Why would LL lock themselves into a money transmitting company for 5 years? Someone else could come along with better service and rates, and now LL would have to pay to break a contract. Of course if Thunes cannot make a profit and goes under, I suppose that would cancel the contract. Most long term contracts will offer lower or fixed rates for the term. That would be LL's reason to enter into the contract. And Thunes locks in a customer for 5 years, giving them time to grow their network.
  21. I have a $25 Android 4G phone, rated the worst performer still for sale. I expect it won't handle SL graphics all that well. They are popular, since the government gives them away. Fortunately the people that get them also have no money.
  22. They list a some of their biggest customers on the Thune website (below). It will be interesting how they will handle Paypal for incoming payments from SL business owners, since Thune has the same functions as Paypal. If I still want to use Paypal as my "bank" account, do I still pay their high fees and have to wait 5 days for my money to be available? With a Paypal wallet, it looks like Process Transfers could be in minutes, not days. But at what fee cost?
  23. I think you assume wrong here. The attraction of Tilia was they are already licensed as a money transmitter in 48 US states and territories as quoted from the Thune announcement, and already have agreements with the major credit card companies. (Not sure why only 48 states, but they are the currency experts.) The only US involvement from Thune before this were agreements and partnerships for handling transactions to some foreign countries. For example Palpal and M-PESA uses Thune for transactions to some African nations that are not served by Paypal or Skrill, or in countries where bank accounts or credit cards are not common. The reason Thune is acquiring Tilia is to start a presence in the USA. They had no direct presence before, but only US business customer partnerships paying for their services. https://www.prnewswire.com/apac/news-releases/thunes-announces-agreement-to-acquire-tilia-llc-302124379.html Their announcement is all about what will be, not what is today, in the USA.
  24. All Thunes means to me is my Tilia Dollars can go to a faster processor than Pay Pal, and possibly for less fees. Waiting five days for Paypal to accept and release my Tilia dollars is ridiculous. At least that is their promise, that Thunes B2B process is faster than Tilia. Tilia seems to be overwhelmed with compliance - why do they take so long for a Process Transfer? Thunes is still a small company, 400 employees worldwide, looking for an entry into the US online money transfer business. The main advantage will be their larger money network to 3rd world countries and transfers in minutes from your money wallet. Will that increase LL's cash intake?
  25. But you did not show who was controlling the Dutch Belgium puppet - @Arduenn Schwartzman Could it be -
