What a great thread, very interesting to read so many insights. I agree that the latest trend in product presentation on out-of-sl examples is rampant and I hope it diminishes. There is one question I want to ask of the people here, or rather throw in my two cents. Would you consider selling items by colour an anti-consumer practice? I tend to avoid shops that do that, unless each colour has something unique to it or comes in several colour packs at least for some variety (like, a pack of pastels, a pack of plains, a pack of florals, etc.). But is it anti-consumer or a necessity because each texture is lindens spent to upload it... Regardless, I usually shop where stores often HUDs and sell fatpacks right away without splitting items into a whole rainbow. I definitely wish more creators did that but I guess I understand if it is necessary.

Oh how sad Slink was my first mesh body and I wore Slink hands up until last November before I switched fully to Maitreya. I'm wishing the creator all the goodness, it seems they need a whole lot of happy thoughts from all of us. They were one of the amazing trend setters in SL back in the day and I'm sure their contribution will always be remembered!

Hi all! I'm looking for some fantasy themed animations to add to my AO, but something a little more specific. For example, some hand gestures/movements that would include magical effects and the like. Magical swirls, conjuring up something, etc. I don't know if there is anything like this on the market, but if you know a store or two, please share?

While my avatar is human, I've been having fun with little fantasy additions like elf ears, skin glitters, horns and other stuff! I'm also planning a way more magical look and already bought purple skin for it ☺️ Still human though lol.

I feel you 😆 I tend to generally remember what I have, but as I've been very active these past few years and buying a lot of things, my memory is getting blurry lol. And quite often the search in my inventory doesn't quite show all that I need and then I forget about all these awesome items I bought haha.

I'm worried it will overlap with my furniture uploads there 😅 I categorize all my decor in the wardrobe quite thoroughly... Though I suppose I could add a 'clothes' tag and then just disable it when I need to look at my furniture only instead.

Hi folks I've mostly been playing around SL with furniture, thus I'm using the CTS Wardrobe (if you don't know what it is, it allows you to create a directory with images of items you own, easier to browse if you are a shopaholic like me lol) mostly for my decor items. I wonder if there is a similar system out there that I could use for my growing collection of clothes and shoes and jewelry. Or maybe you could share tips on how you organize your items without getting lost in the sea of them and that you can browse more or less easier. I definitely need some ideas haha. I do have a pretty nice organizational inventory system as it is, but I also wouldn't mind actually seeing my items to choose what I want to wear and to make the search easier.

That is a good idea, I always forget that updates bring the fun stuff 😁 But also it might be quite nightmarish do update my entire inventory lol! Still, I'm definitely watching - and waiting for any updates that will come soon! I think come discount season, there will be a lot of interesting offers out there!

Hi all! I've been looking around for a nice skin that might match Velour skintones, even if just closely (particularly porcelain)? The Ipanema one is beautiful but it's also way too shiny for me, so I'm in the market for a new one. Any suggestions please?

Finally got my hands on the demo and compared it to my Freya. The new body is quite lovely, but also for me it doesn't warrant paying the price for what is essentially an upgraded version of Freya with an addition of "downstairs" that I don't care for. I think my biggest issue here is that most of my wardrobe would become redundant if I switch. Sunk cost fallacy, yadda yadda, but I do love my old clothes, and having to re-buy it over and over while support for my fav body goes away is depressing. I tried wearing some Freya-shaped clothes and quite a few fit the new body, but not as many and with some issues, obviously. I'll try out demos for the new body and see if I can play around with alpha layers to still be able to buy nice new clothes that would fit Freya. But yeah, for now... Skipping on this purchase. Thinking of switching to Maitreya or Legacy when discounts hit in upcoming months though!

Might anyone be able to make a freya vs gen x curvy comparison, please? Would love to see how it shapes up (no pun intended lol!)

On one hand, that new body looks amazing and I really love how Belezza creates their shapes. Freya has been a big favourite of mine ever since I got it. But the oversaturation of mesh bodies on the market makes it such a hard sell. Freya is dwindling so speedily in clothes store, I can't even find Belezza fitting shoes anymore, other bodies are almost non-existent. My Slink body has been in the wardrobe for a long time, too. It's either throw out your entire wardrobe and buy the new body or stick to old stuff and hope you can still find clothes. This is sad Still, I'm kind of excited to demo the new body and see what it's like. Hoping that they might offer a discount if you already own their body of another line.

yeah, that seems like how most people go about it i like seeing all kinds of photos when I look through groups I joined! makes me wonder if there are spaces in and outside of SL where photographers, decorators, etc, chat? it does seem like some people know each other, at some level, so I'm definitely keeping an eye out for such places.

Hi all I hope this question is allowed! How do you folks promote and share your SL photography? I love decorating, so I post pictures on Flickr, recently on FB as well. But I can barely get over 20 favourites on a photo. Perhaps, it's a vanity metric lol but I would love to share it more and maybe find friends and connections this way. Majority of pictures I see on Flickr get over 100 favs! I'm wondering what you folks do to achieve that? Thanks in advance

Hello I can't find any info on this, need some help please. I own Belleza Freya mesh body. When wearing clothes with alpha (think lacy blouses, bras, etc.), they make body under them transparent. The alpha there is NOT on, I checked by angling my camera - mesh body was visible 'below' the clothes. I noticed that when I also wear hair with alpha, those parts on the mesh body that hair overlap become invisible. Any idea on how to fix that please? :) Screenshot of the issue below.

Oh man, this has to be the saddest SL news ever I love gachas, for one it's because it's so affordable (I can keep myself in check) and because it's genuinely fun. I love the trading and I adore events, I love the surprise of getting something from the set, no matter what it is. I guess we have to tell Arcade goodbye now? Unless they rebrand (which I hope they do). I'm surprised at how many people here have such negative opinions of it. No one is forcing you to play gachas and so so so many creators put out full sets or mod/copy items at events, gachas are mostly event-exclusive, so no one is missing out on anything. This is really disappointing, but I guess we'll have to make do.

Guys!!! Thank you all, I figured out the problem, LOL. Apparently an app I'm using in the background has gotten corrupt or something and has been causing insane graphic card issues for the past few days (I tried playing some games I have installed and they struggled a lot with fps and general execution). I tried to disable it and my laptop flies again and Firestorm loads super fast and without an issue once more. I feel so dumb, haha, and I'm so sorry to have bothered you all. Wow. I'm so glad it works again, lol. If anyone comes across this thread with the same issue - DISABLE WALLPAPER ENGINGE APP. *facepalm*
