  1. I have no friends so I never have to worry whether I set their status flags properly. They are set perfect for me.
  2. What directory did you install the 32bit libraries (execute a "find" if you do not know)? Does your PATH know where the 32bit libs are? The build scripts are not seeing them. When you downloaded FS didn't it come with a README file?

  5. Peggy, as always, an excellent technical post.

There is little leeway for humor in medical reports in the states, and when it does come intentionally from the dictator it is spoken out of context, of course. Most of the time the humor comes from poor dictation skills which requires a heavy hand on editing so the true meaning is not obscured by an ESL's unintentional massacre of the English language. Native English speakers are not immune though. A medical doctorate does not a good communicator guarantee. Hence the rationale for my job. Having written medical device software (drivers, and such) I can assure you there is zero leeway for writing humor in the code. There is zero leeway for error of any sort.
  7. I am a stickler. I abhor English speaking people that write incoherent sentences when they are seeking help. If they can not help me read their request then I find it near impossible to respond in a manner that will assist them. ESL's who try to write correctly always get a free pass with me; especially the ones who try harder than some EFL's to be understood.

I often find that I have nothing in common with younger residents - although they may be very nice people, we have no common experience and it's much harder to keep a friendskhip going without common ground. I try so hard to find similar ground with the youth of today, but I get so caught up in their sense of entitlement I have such a difficult time relating. I, too, like kind, intelligent, and humorous conversation so I avoid the nonsense associated with younger people. I look at it more like they prefer to be in my company much more than I prefer to be in their company.
  9. I have a 'People Forum' question open for GENERAL DISCUSSION that deeply concerns issues I have with YOUR AVATAR. Although we were able to MAKE FRIENDS our LIFESTYLE and RELATIONSHIP is nothing more than a MISSED CONNECTION. I am frustrated by the misunderstanding that everything in second life is anything more than just a ROLEPLAY. Attention Mr. / Ms. moderator, please find this post a home.

You can tell all your friends you read it here first. sweet good to know. island cant be county to small lot like pluto rofl. beautiful area thou have to admit! Wrong, as size has NOTHING to do with status as a country. 13. It started like any other spring afternoon in 1947; an inter-league exhibition game between the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Yankees. Ordinarily, exhibition games do not make history, but this one did. On this date, in 1947, Jackie Robinson played second base for Brooklyn. Jackie Robinson not only broke the 'color' barrier but went on to become one of the legendary competitors of the game.
  14. Impedance speaks. Johnson-Nyquist noise (the sobriquet for the statistical, physical derivation of the noise is the fluctuation/dissipation theorem) is where generalized impedance or generalized susceptibility is used in characterization the medium. It is the electronic noise generated by the thermal agitation of the charge carriers, usually electrons but not always, inside a conductor at equilibrium; occurring regardless of any applied voltage.
  15. methinks LL should buy EA. Using LL, SL, AE, I would rename the company as LaLESS.
  16. I don't know where you can get lessons in-world, try search for sailing lessons. When I was learning to sail I jotted down the terminology on the HUD and researched on the interwebs. I found studying at my own pace was well worth the effort. Anyway, good luck. (I will be paying attention to responses as well)
  17. The issue I see with mesh clothes is there is not enough quality available for the male avatar.

Later when you un-friend them and they don't suddenly appear in your followers list - you probably don' t notice. Anyway - now you don't care cuz they're not a friend anyway. Dat ways when you lose-lose it's win-win. Clever Lindens Dats the way it is so dats the truth!
  19. Click the camara icon on your toolbar. Select post to profile in the window that appears. As simple as that.
  20. Linden Lab allows you to change Linden homes up to five times a day.
  21. You address me in your reply, I will respond. I'm not at all questioning the moderators. I'm learning how things work on the forum. I see patterns that I will use to keep myself from being moderated to death by certain posters.
  22. There is nothing stopping you from advertising on mysecondlife.
  23. It's not strange, it's commonplace. Question Madelaine and your post gets ARed. Some will join to defend Madelaine while some sit back until it gets too hot for her. Imho, Dillon's remarks were more inflammatory and attacking than what Celestiall was ARed, but I'm not a moderator. I read many posts in this thread that I consider more inflammatory than what Celestiall posted. They are intact.

Do you just walk away, or do you put up resistance to the promulgation of false information for the benefit of those who are ignorant of the facts but still curious? We're neither saving nor destroying the world here, so I think there's latitude. Maddy, the promulgation of false information snowballs. The effect becomes accumulative overtime, as false information piles upon further, and further. This does society a disservice, as ignorance is not bliss, and neither is confusion. If, "We're neither saving nor destroying the world here..." then why confront those who counter the false information? Why not confront those who dispense false information? Why try to modify the behavior of other poster's here in the forum? If there is latitude to be given to the OP...why latitude to those who reply with comments? Also, we've touched upon this issue before...in another place and time. So, I'm curious, as to why it's important to you to try and modify the behavior of other posters. Deja vu all over again, and I recognize a pattern. Posts disappear very quickly, why is that? Are people ARing for asking valid questions? Celestiall, you bring up an interesting point as I had this conversation in the Lifestyles forum. I am curious for an answer.
