Rob, thanks for the reply. I did some research and came to the same conclusion. Linux uses a maximum of 24-bit colour depth. Windows uses 24-bit colour depth + 8-bit for alpha channels. Imprudence 64-bit works smoothly on the system. I also tried commenting the lines but I still get "window creation error". Thank you for trying to help Rob, I do appreciate it. I am wondering, has anyone gotten Firestom (32-bit) to work on Linux (64-bit) after installing the necessary 32-bit libraries while using the AMD Catalyst 12.3 drivers? Pudge: If you are not familiar with the issue, please refrain from useless comments like read the instruction manual.

Thanks for the suggestion Rob. I tried what that page suggested but when I do a ./firestorm I still get "window creation error". Running Linux Mint 12 (64-bit) and have installed the latest ATI Radeon graphics drivers, the AMD Catalyst 12.3 drivers. Other OpenGL software such as SuperTuxKart, GLXgears, Imprudence (64-bit) all work properly. Attempted to install 32-bit libraries / dependencies so that Firestorm Viewer (32-bit) may run by: apt-get install ia32-libs ia32-libs-gtk ia32-libs-sdl Downloaded and decompressed the Firestorm 4 (32-bit) package for Linux. In terminal, I did a ./firestorm to run the viewer and a flood of error messages appears along with a popup window saying "window creation error". ./firestorm 64-bit Linux detected.
