The moderator quickly reviews them, flicking through saying, "she's suspended a one day old account posting about Mumbai hookers.. yep. She's suspended a one day old account.. Italian Soccer Matches.. yep. She's suspended Sy Beck because he disagreed with someone?? yep. That's what currently happens.. yep.

That would block honest threads about escorts in SL though. No it wouldn't. Escorts don't have telephone numbers in SL. Escorts don't offer services in Mumbai in SL. I could go on. But I won't. Because I am not a Bayesian engine.
  3. Tex Monday wrote: I, for one, would love to see a decrease in the amount of s**t that comes through the forums. Agreed! I would like them to get rid of the spam too.
  4. Aston Imari wrote: This isn't going to help me with my needs. Let me give you an idea... I myself am in the 93% of literary understanding... that would be literary IQ. And let me tell you, I full well understand the TOS, and according to most of what happens, those who wrote it do not know what they have said. Could someone translate this post into English please?
  5. LL personnel keep spamming my PM inbox too. "Congratulations on being a Huge Member" and such. There are other messages too, but I'm not supposed to talk about them here.
  6. TDD123 wrote: German Umlauts ( 2 dots above characters like a, i, e, u, and o, which are regularly used in German language ) are prohibited to be posted at all. Umlauts are the Devil's punctuation! LL is quite right to ban these insidious little dots. The take up screen space unnecessarily, and use up more ink when you print. They confuse people with exaggerated astigmatisms that mistake them for colons. They confuse people even more if they think a colon is another word for the large intestine. The biggest mistake, though, is calling them umlauts. The umlaut is actually the sound change where a vowel is modified to resemble the vowel immediately following. Those pesky little double dots are actually a diacritic called a diaeresis or trema.

  8. Amethyst Jetaime wrote: For those that may be interested here is a link to videos of some of the presentations at the VWBPE conference. This should be in the SLEDU subforum. Well, the single LL post there must be getting awfully lonely. Assuming my own posts have all been removed. I must check.

  11. I have certainly noticed an increasing number of repetitive mindless and content-free posts in the feeds recently. Ah, my mistake, that's just the regular posters. Carry on.
  12. LL must be very disappointed at the complete lack of interest suggested by the absence of threads here.
  13. Or did they decide to ignore this forum LL started especially for 'em?
  14. Syo Emerald wrote: Why did you drag that dead thread out? Its from 2011! The person is maybe not even in SL anymore. Because she's a cat. And cats are stupid. Most of them can't even spell cheeseburger correctly.
  15. Syo Emerald wrote: There should be many places where human avatars get discriminated There are.
  16. Miracle Village is a stupid name. What do the inhabitants really call the place? Zindra?
  17. I had to go out for a breakfast braai this morning, and four hours later I returned and there was no spam left. Is this a record? No, a record is a 30cm flat black vinyl disc with a spiral groove and a hole in the middle.
  18. . . . the first spam of 31 July 2013 hit the forums? I WAS HERE! Actually it was 11.42pm SLT on 30 July 2013. 8.42am in South Africa.
  19. The only good iPhone is a dead iPhone.
  20. steph Arnott wrote: I would tell you to get lost if i was asked that, if people come to SL for a relationship then GOD help them. My kids call me that. GOD. Grumpy Old Dad. I wouldn't help people have a relationship in SL. In fact, I discourage people from having them in RL. The disappointment is longer-term and the consequences more costly.

  22. Ricky40 wrote: I would get the person to cam, and then ask then some questions that only they would know the answers to, such as; "What was I wearing the day we met?" My wife asked me that once. Only once. She was very disappointed. Nowadays I always keep a small notebook on me with relevant facts recorded in it, like the colour of her eyes, her shoe size and how many sugars she takes in her tea. In case she interrogates me further.
  23. A sensible answer from me for a change. It's probably a spambot. It has been programmed to look for forum threads with "newbie" or similar in the title. Programmed badly, because it does not take thread date into account. Then it has been programmed to post vacuous text that is sufficiently anodyne that it can be used for just about any forum. If it receives any sort of response it will level up and probably post an irrelevant lolcat. Further responses will invoke its "commercial" mode and it will praise the virtues of a certain brand of brake fluid. Suggesting that it presents less of a health risk to drink than vodka. Because it is easier to stop. Or it may be a clueless newbie.
  24. Of course the Bayeux Tapestry is NOT a tapestry. And it was not made in Bayeux, but England. Maybe we should ask for it back too if those Greeks are going to insist on their Marbles being returned.
