  1. Those who have the time and the inclination to investigate similar cosmic theories might wish to look at this site. David Icke is a former professional footballer, so you might think that he's fairly down to earth. But he was a goalkeeper. And it is well known that all goalies are mad.

Added: It was just a flash thought, not a serious one Well, apparently I have 190 alts. So there's actually only ten people here.
  3. 1am SLT. Mary Milena has just logged on. An hour after the spammers started. There are over four pages of new spam posts clogging up the GD. Yesterday the spam was around for six hours before it got resolved.
  4. Phil Deakins wrote: It doesn't matter where the Indians were at the time of the war of independence We know where they are at this very moment. Spamming the forums. Again.
  5. I thought of doing a PhD once, but I didn't have much spare time, so I looked for something where there wasn't much content involved. It was a deadheat between USA Cultural History and American Literature.
  6. Phil Deakins wrote: They have eyes in their heads, and brains Well, as Meatloaf sang, two out of three ain't bad.

If she had meant that then she should have said it. Incomplete or implicit arguments are inadequate arguments. You're probably the only one who didn't understand what was meant. I think it was clear to everyone else. Ah, the wisdom of crowds. Crowds of sloppy thinkers, that is, who make erroneous assumptions instead of actually reading the words.

And LL is obviously not very concerned about those who are. Right, because they have a staff there 24/7 after cutting their staff by 33%. Not every business in the world has to cater to you Europeans. Why should a US company run on EU time? On that basis perhaps LL should consider closing SL down between 5pm and 9am PST - and all day on weekends and public holidays. Why should a US (California) business ask its staff to work outside normal hours. Surely they don't want to be accused of cruel and unfair employment practices! Oh, that's right, they pretty much do close down any type of effective support outside those hours anyway.
  9. It's six hours worth of spam now. I don't AR/RIC them any more. I send PMs to Mods that I identify as being online. Then more PMs. Then more PMs.

  11. From what I have read, there are a considerable number of parents in the USA who can accurately say that they beat their children. And the number is increasing.
  12. The only thing you can't fake in SL is intelligence. Well, lack of intelligence might be easy to fake. But I see little evidence of that.
  13. I've had an idea myself actually. I could be a socially excluded wrathful alien (who slightly resembles Sherlock Holmes) of part Irish heritage, with a disease that makes parts of my body fall off and infect my victims with an insane desire to search for non-existent treasure at the end of rainbows. Just call me LeperKhan
  14. My super-power is to enrage people continents away to a state of impotent reptile-brain hyper-emotionalism using only polysyllables. Would this qualify me as an SL Hero? Or a (sic) villon? Or a sick villain, even? I don't have a uniform or a name; perhaps someone here could make some suggestions. About a uniform or a name, that is.

  16. Life is not a dream. It's a series of extended nightmares. Punctuated by narcosis.

To the OP - a thesaurus is your friend. Try something like: I am looking for a MATURE, EXPERIENCED, INTELLIGENT, RESPONSIBLE host(ess) who can speak in complete sentences and show up on time for shifts. Please only respond if you can spelland speak in more than two word sentences. Geez, it took THIS thread to pull me back in? Is this your job application?

  20. Ah, I think I have worked out what the six hours might be describing from only a handful of cryptic posts, largely made by ESLers. It's the quantum mechanics version of Plato's Cave, isn't it. I once watched a BBC populist science documentary (probably Horizon) in which an Eminent Quantum Scientist (capital letters for the benefit of our German-speaking friends here) stated that if you thought you understood the theory involved, you probably didn't.
