If you read the What does "behind closed doors" mean? topic in the LL adult content FAQ you'll see specifics I mentioned about groups. I would think that groups anyone can freely join do not really restrict who has access. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Adult_Content_FAQ Yes I agree with you, TOS states if there is adulyt activity the group can not have open enrollment, but this land group does. The page you directed me to also states that if there are any sex pose balls the avatars are to be hidden if on Mature land. My point in the OP's issue was that there are measures that could have been taken so the tenants had privacy. I realize there is limited privacy in SL, having an estate and no public access is the highest level of privacy, but the TOS clearly states as you pointed out on the link posted that certain measures need to be used if you have any type of adult activity on Mature rated land. It may have prevented the problem in the first place. eta: if the hot tub has sexual poses besides PG then it still falls under the TOS for the avatars to be hidden on M land. They may have been using a PG pose at the time.
  2. Oh I agree with you. I don't think most people read everything when they sign up for things, a lot of time there is so much to read seems like skimming over at best takes a lot of time
  3. Hi I am not sure exactly what you mean, probably because I only use PayPal to add Lindens to my account, sorry . I have had however, the issue where I have bought lindens with my Paypal and it shows the transaction was successful but the Lindens don't show in my account they went to my USD balnace and I had to repurchase the Lindens again using the USD. I know it takes sometimes more than a half hour for a transaction to show in PayPal especially when I collect as a seller on other venues. Sorry if i misunderstood what you meant but I know that there are issues with PayPal transactions with buying Lindens. Hope this helps a little. eta: I meant my SL transaction is showed successful. Also even when a transaction in Paypal is completed sometimes it switches from this all in the same day: Mar 8, 2013 Authorization Completed Mar 8, 2013 Temporary Hold Placed Mar 8, 2013 Temporary Hold Removed
  4. your reply was to someone else, but try and take a step back and look at how you are replying to everyone? Drama. If you were a strong person that could handle the idiots of sl, then why post here and continue to go on and on with the posts? Enjoy your drama on here an inworld.
  5. Actually I read everything I am going to use a payment source with, otherwise, no I can't say I do, and it's my fault if i don't.
  6. The sim is Moderate and anyone can freely join the group. 7. Calling people idiots on a thread you started just because you didn't like their answers tells me you are a drama magnet. Taking the right away for people to create alternate avatars on their account the way you say is not fair to users. Griefers are going to grief no matter what. This has been said to death...SL is a place where people come to escape their everday lives, to have a business whatever the reason and NO they should not have to lose the anonymity because people such as yourself bring on the drama. After reading your complete profile I can see where you would be the type of person that someone would find foolishly fun to challenge you on.

    empty sim

I have a question: why would someone have an empty sim they didn't know what to do with as a sim mainland or estate costs quite a bit want to pay and let someone create the sim or theme or whatever you are referring too, not a lot of information there, and still pay for someone's idea? Are there objects involved or do you already have a sim full of objects? This made me laugh thinking how many people just have empty sims just lying around. I imagine they would want to rent or sell them.
  9. She doesn't have to go all demonic on them, but she is paying for that land so waiting out the neighbors is one more day she is not fully enjoying the land she pays for. I do see negative attention warrants more ignorance, but if handled properly, lol, it won't be an ongoing issue.
  10. LOL I am with you, would do the same thing :matte-motes-evil-invert:
  11. Simply because they can. Melita, with all you have done for others and shared many things with people who may not have the $ to spend, or just simply don't want to (nothing wrong with that as long as they realize that was their choice and others objects, unless told they can use, not use them) People for some reason feel entitled on SL to do whatever they want no matter how it may affect another person. It isn't just the ones that feel they don't have to pay for things they want , they rudely borrow others. Your neighbor seems to know what she is doing from what you said she built, so maybe the prims on your land was understood also, who knows. It's just rude and it's hard to understand when you do share and help people how some can be so ignorant. I guess you could make it so no one from another parcel can see other avs, not sure how that works on mainland though. I know many don't like orbs, much better than ban lines in my opinion, I have very a very simple orb that we used for renters, no fancy menus, nothing. it does not ban or send people home and no lag. you can set area, and ejection time. If you would like one i will give you one, just message me. In my opinion I don't believe in warnings, but given an ejection time that is suitable is the same thing, but you dont have to be there to act on the warning. People just don't care about respecting others and their privacy. Sorry you have to deal with that.
  12. Linda Brynner wrote: Well, i'm an oldie. My thoughts are that sl is just full of this kind of ridiculity and unempathism. I've seen it so often. One day i even had a ban for a question to the hostess of 'Blackhearts' me asking what she had voted rl. Instant ban... Isn't that just too rediculous. She made a game out of it. I've seen her ban everybody for noting. Long time ago i had a ban because i gave somebody a notecard, really silly... but... Some sim owners or staff play 'i am god here' and make a game of ejecting and banning. Why? I've never understood. However i just think they lack emphaty in rl actually. There are so many ways of saying something, why would anybody think the worst immediately and disgrace somebody. And somehow there is a difference between rl grace and sl bluntness over nothing and short disdain replies. Why? I suppose sl is just too full of social inadequate and unemphatic people at the keyboard... sl is filled with those... most unfortunate. Another sim you want to avoid is 'Berlin 1920' Owners and staff are like "Halt Polizei"... yak !! Very, very unfriendly. Rules are ruls, but we people should have the capacity to actually think as humans, not as apes. And why should we make a 'hell' in sl as well... Most Sim owners do... unfortunate... Welcome to sl. Well this you'll have a lot of times in sl. Mind you, most sim owners also blog here, so they will hardly agree... lol (uhuh i did mention names, against the Tos? Nop...) Sim owners play God? Once again, another person who doesn't foot the bill, actually goes into the thousands of USD and you complain about following rules. You are not being treated like an ape, you obviously have no respect for the people that PAY for the sims you get to go to on top of the costly objects to do a whole sim. You are right, i don't agree with a person like you who feels they can put their hand in my pocket and dictate if my rules are fitting to your liking. People like you are the reason one of my sims is not open to the public ATM. I could care less about what you or anyone else thinks while I am paying $295 USD every month so you have a nice place for free to visit and do things. Get over yourself. The comment about the sim you mentioned is quite rude and her rules are understandable. I went there I asked the sim owner if I was dressed proper to explore the sim, that's called respect and she was respectful back. I can't even imagine the work and money she put into creating that sim. I swear most people don't care one bit how sim owners have made the sl for them to be in. You have a shop in your signature? Give your stuff away free or real cheap (assuming it's not dollarbarbie or freebies could be wrong, won't look to confirm) That makes sense, right?
  13. Amethyst, thank you, seems like you understood the meaning of my post(s). It is absolutely no one's business how to set rules, what rules are set and what someone does with their land, public or private when they are paying tier. TOO many people feel that "truth" is not fair to the rest of the residents who either don't care to follow the rules set, have no money to enhance their sl experience at the level they want with someone else paying for it. I am all for generosity when it comes to helping people as you do in many ways, one of which mentoring as I am sure it takes a lot of your time when you also have a business, other residents that just share their parcel for no other reason but kindness and as I have mentioned earlier I have done my fair share of doing what I can. My post was about people taking land or objects for that matter that is not theirs and feeling because of a loophole and feeling that's their justification for doing as they please. I forgot until you mentioned it about the Rolling Restarts, Yes they do have some strange effects on land, it would open object entry on one of my parcels off and on and a Linden employee actually checked out the land per request from the land owner I rent my sims from. Thanks for bringing that up it slipped my mind. Even if a parcel is in search it is not an invitation to take over the person's sim, Many sims are in search due to a business being on the sim someone may be renting on. You also pointed out another valid reason object entry is open - waterways and airspace. If that is on your land, you don't have to keep that open but many do for people who enjoy sailing and flying but it doesn't mean it's an open invitation to their land. You can search for a sim by name and it will come up in search, public or not. Search feature is sometimes flawed and you get results that do not match the query. True about the drama, Mute is your friend as needed and when people don't take the generosity you don't owe them to another level then oh well it's your right to ban an only the people that want to use and feel you HAVE to allow are the ones that complain. Thanks again for understanding the point I was trying to make in my posts as intended, though I felt I came across clear, maybe to some it wasn't.
  14. Dillon you're not arguing with me about telling me your opinion or beliefs, I appreciate you posting as I am not a person with a closed mind. We can always agree to disagree that's how forums should work. Different views or opinions is what makes this interesting reading and sometimes someone else's point they make may even change the original perspective. The landowner yes can goof and sometimes one of the group members sets object entry accidentally or a trusting land owner that may or may not mind, I am only basing my thoughts on many sim owners I know and my own beliefs. You are right, it is surely not a big deal, there are far more things in both sl and rl that makes this miniscule. I was just replying to porky's post with my opinion. I realize we can't always, even with punctuation and anything else to show expression, come across with the actual "feeling" of our response. People may come off way more heavy than intended and I include myself. I still think squatting is wrong, but i can only speak for myself. Thanks for replying.
  15. I am not missing anything. Have you owned land? Did your land have parcels? Did you think that myabe there was an error for something to be unchecked in the parcel menu? Is it possible that the landowner kept it open for friends or something thinking no one would just come along and do as they please? I realize you feel you have ESP or fair use if someone uses a trust method. I did write that quote and somehow it didn't apply to the post of yours I responded to, you know the admission of knowing you WEREN'T supposed to be there. Funny how your last post disappeared with your small insults, so since you can't back up a post you make without deleting it, I have nothing further to say to you.
  16. Kenbro, no that's not what I am referring to, it was a few posts on squatting on other's land, not mentioning land that the owner hasn't logged in, but how it was entitlement to use other's land and objects without their permission and basically thinking it was funny for the thrill of getting caught. Everyone has the right to choose what they allow with their land and objects, many people don't care and many people don't want it used for the public. To me it's just stealing behind someone's back whether it's pixels or not, my theory is if you didn't pay for you don't set the rules. I think Residents that choose to share their land, let others rez is great, truly, but they have made that decision to do so. If someone hasn't logged in over a year then, yeah maybe that's a problem to see if they even have an account anymore and the land should be used if the landholder has dissolved their account.
  17. Thanks for your reply Dillon. That's kind that you share your parcel. I am very aware of people doing generous things in sl as I am one of them. I am not talking about people that CHOOSE to do it I am referring about Residents who think they can use someone's land or objects when the sim owner does not want anyone to. I could sit here and list all the things I have just done in the past 14 months for renters, free homes, free furniture FRE RENT and the kind of mony I spent that was well into the thousands of USD to give people things and a place to live out of my pocket. The sims I kept are private estates @ $600.00 USD a month approx for people to enjoy including the the all the objects that I bought for the one sim that ran me about $3000.00 to purchase everything. I have had my one sim for 1 1/2 years and the other since October of 2012 but set it to a group just a few months ago. I give back to this community, by choice. I think my point of using other's things behind their back was missed. I won't get into how much money I put into my first av and the business I had and things I did for people for no reason other than to be kind. Now add the price of 5 private regions and all the homes (255 to five an estimate) I bought for reisdents to have a HUGE choice of home to use, the expensive TV's, any landscape they wanted and at times, many times, no money was made because someone needed a home. Never took theri tags back even if a renter stopped renting so I am sure people came, rezzed stuff, did whatever, including the group tags that freinds and family got, if they didn't cause a problem to current renters no problem. There, so I am not ignorant to helping people and sahring I have a problem with people who go and take without asking. p.s. if I take my park sim down which I am seriously thinking of doing, I will have many things that can be transferred that I will be giving away.
  18. I realize there are many resident who have not logged in for years and if they have land that was not paid tier on I don't understand how the land show's them or their group as owner. I know it's too much to go around looking into things but you would think LL had some sort of way to see this has happened. I don't think you did that out of entitlement though, from what you say you cleaned a piece of mainland up and helped put the sim back in some order.
  19. 16 this is not a direct reply to you. I have not visited any sims (this is my 2nd time around in sl since 2009) that allow people to just rez and build when the sim was created for visiting. I am not sure what kind of sims anyone is referring to, but when I created the summer and winter park sims I put an awful lot of money and time into objects and terraforming, etc and I am not going to let people change what I have done, that's ridiculous. The sky on that sim has platforms being used for different reasons by the group up to 4000 meters. Whenever a sim owner doesn't want to let people do what they want on the sim there is always sarcasm and BS about the owner's choice , it's that kind of attitude that makes me not care to have public sims. Get some land, rent or whatever and pony up. I don't stay on that sim to hang out, I do other things with my time in sl.
  20. Thanks 16, it's not n00bs that I have any issues with. I will keep that in mind if i come across anyone who needs that info
  21. That is wonderful that sim owners do that, and if they feel that doing so does not interfere with their vision of their sim, kudos to them and i truly mean it. I hope one day you will also be able to get back to doing what you enjoyed, that's quite a gracious thing to do. Within the past 3 years (this is my 2nd av) Owning 5 sims mainly for rentals I gave many people what I could even losing profit out of the kindness of my heart. I did what I could and it is a great feeling. Due to RL issues my sl bf closed down 3 sims. I still have 2 and turned them into public areas, still thinking about what to do with the other as it has been our home sim for a year and a half. I don't mean to come across cold hearted. In the years of doing rentals I have met people of all personalities, needs and dreams, however i have also had my fair share of knowing people that scammed any way they could to get something for nothing. I just have a problem when people EXPECT others to pay for their SL experience. As Amethyst said, and a very good point best i ever heard it put: brown bag lunch a few days, cut back on some smaller things in RL to name a few, can't remember the exact quotes. Many people feel that users that pay for their own things HAVE to share everything because A. the person doesn not want to spend a dime in SL or B. because they can't afford to have more "luxurious" things for a lack of a better word. Those are the people I have a problem with. If I can help someone, I always will, but not someone who feels they are entitled to others things, virtual or not my real money paid for what I have. Your posts always have a positive point no matter what. Thank you
  22. Exactly, so there are many places for people to use that was set for that use. That should make people realize that they are not entitled to do whatever they wish on someone's sim that is owned by another Resident. I, like everyone else works damn hard for my money and it's MY business how I choose to allow my land I pay for to be used and no one has the right to question that, respect should follow you into your SL. Thanks for the information, interesting fact, I knew there were zones available for people to use but I didn't know the actual numbers. Thanks for sharing that info
  23. Oh, no money doesn't grow on trees and these posts of people wanting free this, give me part of your land to rez, I can't afford make me think of you the person is behind the avatar. Sorry to sound harsh but I don't understand how this train of thought works, you get and or buy what you can afford, if you can't afford much you can still enjoy SL. Lots of places to set home, rez and open boxes where people are generous enough to allow you to. If the sim has a certain theme, it makes sense not to allow rezzing even with atuo return, putting a lot into a sim for it to look like a sandbox doesn't sound pretty. Any landowners that aren't rental companies think I am wrong in thought, would love to hear your opinion and also to see if your sim is open for people to use as a home base, rez boxes and so forth.
