  1. LOL are you talking about the owner of the sim? Not sure was hard to understand your post. If you are referring to the sim owner they have every right to be there for any reason they choose. If you are referring to other squatters, seems like it's a game to who is the alpha squatter is.
  2. How entertaining to think you get excited about getting caught using others sims builds for which they are not intended. Use SL on your dime. People like you that feel so entitled to use or borrow others stuff because they are not on or whatever reason you make in your head to justify what you do leads me to believe this is how your RL morales are. I don't care to hear how it's pixels, and all that because those pixels costs US real money. There are many FREE places that allow you to set home and rez and open boxes. If you want to place your own house pay like the rest of us non freeloaders do.
  3. I respect your post as some of the others who have posted about rl and priorities. It's amazing how some of these people think that they know a person's rl situation. I find it odd that having a computer upgraded for the use of sl, even as a content creator because there are many workarounds, shows these are the type of people that put sl before rl and in a way that's sad to not enjoy what you can touch, smell and feel better than pixels. I enjoy sl a lot, I do a lot in sl, but it is in no way a priority for me to change anything about my computer. my rl business made me upgrade my computer.
  4. Gadget Portal wrote: solstyse wrote: So, the summary here is that because one person complained wrongly, anyone and everyone with an older or underperforming pc should be punished. And LL should take the hit to their revenue streams that results. And it all comes down to, of all the stupid things it could be, whether or not you're a fan of Mesh. .. Flaming someone and trying to make an arguement that they should be banned for getting fewer fps or being able to enable fewer features in sl than you can is a clear demonstration of just how pathetic your rl is. That's what I read of that post. It shows me you didn't read the whole thread and you're too over-emotional to have a conversation without resorting to insults. Go back and read all the replies, calm down, and stop getting so whiny and upset over a forum post. Unless you are actually a 12 year old girl. Then your response is fine. Then you need a pair of glasses besides a concious. Just another rude poster who can't think out of the box. You actually insult humanity. Hope you never fall short in life, you can in a blink no matter how prepared for something you THINK you are.
  5. Not every sim owner who has a M sim I don't dictate Morales because of allowing nudity or not. Not every moderate sim has to allow nudity lol it isn't even a morale issue. Stop and think of how your views on nudity are being the standard for a moderate sim. Not everyone thinks your way and its ok. People need to get over telling sim owners what to do and push their beliefs on someone else's dime. When you own a sim do as you will. Go to M Sims that allow nudity, please don't cluster everyone together and make your beliefs the standard. Some people want a bed with no sex poses in it (many requests for that believe it or not when doing g rentals) would I judge? No gave them a bed with PG poses. To me nudity is fine and natural but some Sims rated M are not that way, and it shouldn't be a problem. If people are just giving you grief because of their own issues and not a sim owner mute them you are doing g nothing wrong so who cares. Sorry typing from Phone can't see previous typos if any.
  6. I don't know if I would go as far as saying too poor, but people have their own priorities and just because upgrading a computer to run sl isn't one of them how can any of use judge? I understand your points and I am not saying they have no validation, but people should be able to enjoy sl no matter what their situation. Too many people are ban happy as it is and that's a problem I feel before finding the problems.
  7. LL should never do that, not letting users log on because they don't have the viewer you and others think they should or computer specs. Residents ARE more important than a ban, most of the times a person is banned form a sim the full story is not told and it's a hine session. Sim owners have the right to do as they please. When I am paying out $600 USD a month I will damn sure make the rules I feel is fair to all and I could care less who doesn't like it. It's usually those who can't override the sim owners rules that get ruffled about it. Be happy that you can log in. Be happy people pay for sims. It's people like you and Gadget with your selfish thoughts on dictating another person's sl experience that make me not want to open these sims back up for people to use, but I have to realize you guys are the smaller part of the sl population so that's what keeps me doing it.
  8. Gadget Portal wrote: Here's why I act the way I do. A couple good reasons. I won't list the forum troll ones this time around. There is no reason not to have a decent computer these days. For 300 USD, I could build you a computer that'll run SL decently on high settings. For 500, it could run ultra. PC manufacturers have driven their own prices down so much, you could spend 200 for the tower, put in a GPU yourself for 100 more, and still do well. Hell, the prices are so cheap, I'd build and mail you a computer from my spare parts, for free, that could run SL well- except the shipping cost is more than buying the computer new.* Every week, I see complaints on the forum about updates and upgrades. If SL were optimized for those people as requested, we'd lose most of the features that make it interesting and make it look good. Which is the last thing I want. *Edit: The US Post office has those pre-paid boxes. I'm not a charity, but if things are that bad, I'd be happy to spend some time and spend some money on some sort of "help me upgrade" exchange program for SL users in the US. There's a tech guy in my local paper that does something similar for non-commercial PC owners. May I ask what world you live in? $300 USD is a lot to some people and it's not for YOU or I to judge if they can afford to change their computer situation. Keep in mind SL users are from all over the world, you have no idea of each person that logs into sl the economics of their family or their country. Just because someone can't afford a whiz bang top notch piece of equipment does not mean they can't enjoy sl. I have a super duper gaming computer and depending on the sim I am on I may encounter a problem. BTW the reasons you give for acting the way you do, sorry IMO are not good by any means, your offer to spend some time upgrading computers, I would wonder how you would pick and choose your candidates for those services. Don't assume the people that have not made upgrading their computer not knowledgable or able either. Your comment about certain users not being able to log in, seeing the replies you recieved to that I am convinced brought out your non charity comment about helping upgrade strangers computers. Worry about your own computer and connection and maybe as suggested by another poster stop insulting those that don't drive a ferrari on the net like you. If you don't like the weekly posts as you say that complain about this or that, skip over them and read something else.
  9. hotVictoriangirl wrote: Hi, i need a good builder that could build me a nice 7 room house, 2 story, the rooms need to be meduim sized exept for 3, the rest have to be big enough for the kitchen, bedroom, study, and living room. the other three would be for the bathroom, spa, and walk in closet or storage. i need the walls to be painted white and hardwood floor. i would also like a pool behind the house. i willl pay whoever can build this 80-100 $L depending how well of a job. thx in advanced. vikki ps: please build it in a sandbox and take it and then im me with it Sorry, I just can't believe the audacity of some people and the expectations they have of SL without paying for the more luxurious things. I guess my train of thought goes that way because of so many people wanting something for nothing and to pay "whenever" when we had the rentals and expect you to allow them to make your rules. I created a sim for everyone to enjoy that is free I don't even ask for donations and still people wanted more. I don't get it.
  10. I think you might want to settle for the very nice people that have apartments to rent and are fully furnished that start at $30L per week. I see by your other thread http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Wanted/7-room-house/m-p/1833427 that you may not understand what goes into building a home (especially a 7 room one) or creating period. As the other thread stated there are generous people but no one should expect a stranger to pay for their fun in SL. Owning/renting land, depending on where it is isn't cheap and asking to have someone give you 160 prims to use IMO is asking a lot, my opinon only of course. I think you will be able to find some great apartments or even smaller homes for the amount of Lindens you can afford right now and then as most everyone does, move up to renting your own land to put your home or renting a larger home that may be more affordable to you then. you don't need a premium account to rent.
  11. yw Ruby I am not sure where a good place to post is, when we had our rental biz it was built over 3 years and mainly word of mouth and 4 sims. I helped with the business and it took a lot of my time but I was able to swing it due to my rl work situation. RL issues forced the closing of the rentals so I am not sure what the regular rate per prim is now and if you are on Mainland or a private estate. I wish I knew more of where you could post this, I would guess maybe in the land forum here under the correct subforum? I mentioned that about being able to give time to renters as there is alot involved, yes we grew to a large company, but even with 5 renters it was always something they needed and as a good landlord you want to be able to help them as soon as you can lol which sometimes is hard I wish you luck in your venture and hope it gives you what you expect!
  12. Hi, well first, if you don't want to spend your time finding a renter, I hesitate to ask if you can find the time to take care of the renter's needs and be available if they need something. I have not heard of any reality agency, that doesn't mean one doesn't exist. You can take out a classified, or post in the proper area of the forum. I would list all the information about your rental so the prospective renter doesn't have to guess. You only get what you put in to rentals and the market is competative as there are many great rentals that offer a variety of perks and low cost per prim, also being a great landlord that puts their renters first. eta: comment
  13. Yes it is nice to go past 256 M without a TP. I can see the green dots, the people on the map but when i am flying around I don't have the map open. I have been kicked by orbs even above ban lines lol but I wasn't sent home or i would have forgot where i was. I just don't want to invade someone's space but it is hard when going through sims that have the waterways. The groups helped and I believe she found a place to call home. Thanks for your help!
  14. Thank you. I did find a site that has sl maps that has Linden waterways and roads. I am trying to help her as she has never rented anywhere and I have knowledge of estates only and not of mainland. It just seems so confusing looking at the map and when I have explored on some of the sims to see if there were any parcels for rent I felt I was invading other's homes. I belong to starboards and haven't noticed anything there, then again I wasn't looking last time I was out on the sim. Thanks I will try groups too.
  15. Thank you Orca. I don't mean to sound ignorant lol, but aren't there sims that connect to the waterways of the Blake Sea? I am familiar with the Honah Lee sims as I have a slip there, so maybe not being directly on the Blake Sea would give more options? When I open the mini map it makes me more confused I will search these though and thanks again.
  16. I am not real familiar with mainland and what sims are near the Blake Sea for a waterfront rentals. Looking for a parcel size of 4096sm or a bit higher with 1000 prims if possible. I looked at some sims today from older posts to see if parcels were available and came up with nothing. The person I am looking for that wants to rent is getting into sailing so I thought a sim on the Blake Sea would work. Any suggestions of sims that are residential only that a stilted home would compliment? I can't remeber the sims I went to look at there were many, but if anyone knows of an area like I am describing, with low lag and stays to the tropical theme can you give me some info? Thanks!
  17. We knew more than you thought. Glad you removed and please don't assume we didn't know what you were doing here. No inconvenience just disbelief that this was actually posted here, and it was assumed we forum readers were not that smart to get it. eta: my bad spelling
  18. So true and scary at best, hopefully most people are educated enough to realize this besides not giving their time and creativity away for nothing. I can't believe the post hasn't been removed. This person is basically asking for a bunch of people that have expertise and talent to give it away for free, time included, then kiss everything goodbye. You know that people can't pay any type of salary even to make this realistic. ETA: The title of the post "Need Help" not even "looking to hire" LOL (still a bad deal at best)
  19. Am I reading this massive list wrong, or are you looking for talented people to create something you wrote on a piece of paper (called an idea) What skills do you and your friend have? LOL you have got ot be kidding to find people with this callibur of talent/abilities to spend time on something that isn't even theirs, you would think they may have rl jobs that actually benefit their lifestyle. People amuse me daily. BTW The "I cannot disclose much" red flags this like crazy to me.
  20. you didn't say anything dumb, that wasn't directed at you as an individual. Your posts I enjoy reading
  21. 16 wrote: can always feel sympathy for people when they get into difficulty. is good to be that way. I didnt mean to be mean to you. so sorry about that (: Naw, I didn't get any mean vibe from your post at all Tone can't come through in text most of the time when I 1st responded to you, it was nothing, just an opinion and a very weak one at that as I said Education is the best thing so no one finds themselves in th OP's position. I just said I felt bad and we didn't know the whole rl story. This is not directed at you 16, I did not mention in my posts that I felt LL should allow someone to go 1 day or 90 days to hold a premium account before deletion. I don't think LL is a creditor and again I surely don't want to save the world, as a rl business owner I can't lend my customers "time" to pay for what I sell, I was just saying I felt we didn't know the whole story and anyone's financial situation can change quick no matter how much padding you think you may have.
  22. Your points all all valid, my wow was that we really don't know the OP's rl story and we all prioritze differently, whether it helps us or hurts us I know sometimes people come to tell their story for their own validation in their choices from posters, I just feel that when we don't know the whole story it's hard to understand. Educatiing ourselves is the best way to avoid problems like the OP's, I just hate seeing people have problems.. and no I don't want to save the wolrd
  23. I don't think there is anything you can do. Most throw this is a lesson to you, you bought stuff so why can't you afford the payment to LL, blah blah, yeah I get it. $20 may not ssem much to some and to others it may mean a whole lot more. What I don't get is that none of us know your rl situation, so at the time you bought anything who knows what your finances were like? It does not mean you don't know how to prioritize your rl budget, or maybe it does, we don't know, so to assume isn't fair. I would think that anyone would know at any given time a person's financial situation could change withing 24 hours without being negligent in any way. It could take an illness for example that the cost of a hospital stay went way past what your insurance (if any) covers. It could be a thousand things, who knows. No one knows your whole rl situation and doesn't need to, I guess your question was answered, sorry things changed for you and start to look up. Good luck.
  24. Links86 wrote: LL could still make money off the Sims and buying and selling linden dollars also could charge a small sales commission fee on xstreet marketplace that's how they can still produce revenue for the Labs and if they would do that meaning lower cost to the game meaning more company profit and still allow SL players still make money off of every from land to the content people make that's how you can create a healthy environment for the player and the labs this is my point Many people that create content and run stores on Marketplace or have an inworld presence make their RL living off of their profits. I am not trying to come down on you and your opinions, but I don't think many understand how the sl economy does work as stated in other posts. So Mainland is free but i will still have to pay $295 USD a month for each of my sims? LOL that sounds fair and healthy environment as you put it. I think the way things are works, sure we would all like to see Mainland and Estate tiers lower, but it is what it is. I know that a few people who have posted on this thread have very big hearts for people who may not be able to or want to pay to engage in this world, I appalud them, words can't describe their kindness. I also know that there are some great creators that posted on this thread that passion drives them to create, not just profits.
