  1. Giving the dress a retopo will make weighting and animating with it easier and smoother. The dress has a lot of faces there that aren't used anyway. Can I see a wireframe view? Im not sure how zbrush work but if you used dynamic topology at all you will have a lot of trangles, and triangles tend to leave artifacts when rigging Edit: Also check in the vertice selection mode that the vertices in that area are assigned to the right sides. If they have influence from the right leg but are on the left etc. Set the incorrect weights to 0 or remove them from the influence. Weighting essentially pulls the vertices to wherever they are assigned, So this can create some distortions.
  2. View his profile with the default SL viewer, Look for a Gear/Cog and click it. It should have options to give him permissions
  3. Ping results are the "Latency" between SL and your computer. IE a ping of 53 ms means it takes 53 miliseconds to talk to the server and back I think this is under the advanced menu -> Performance Tools -> Statstics bar Edit: The lower the better for any online game, Secondlife is a bit different in that it downloads objects and textures constantly, a better connection will only increase the speed you load things. Most ping won't prevent your use of SL's basic functions. Walking/Talking/etc because its such a unnoticeable effect on these until it reaches the 1000's. Other online games IE Counterstrike a ping over 100 would be noticeable since every movement is quick and needed, SL not so much. Very easy going
  4. I understand that cubes are the lowest impact on the havoc engine, but does the fact you have multiple cubes as the physics still make it lower than connecting all of those together so you don't have those holes in your physics? So cubes are cubes even if combined with other cubes, To havoc that is?
  5. I googled and it came up with quite a few results in the images. You can also look for Creative common licensed photos of models wearing those jeans, maybe 3000x3000+ and snip out some nice textures, throw them into photoshop and make them seamless if needed, Can also check out texturing websites, lots to be found on google. Cgtextures.com being my favorite
  6. Interesting, Well try it and let me know I would love to see the error your getting where it extends way beyond the walls +See the picture of it in the file maybe I can advise, Its so hard to explain mesh in text though Have a goodnight! Look forward to hearing more~
  7. You said you uploaded a physics model, What was wrong with it that you chose not to use it? Usually I don't hit analyze when uploading, I just select highest and calculate cost. The analyze button seems to break more than it helps Edit: What are you trying to work around?
  8. Experienced mesh builder is eagerly awaiting new ambitious students interested in learning the magic of “Mesh.” New students being accepted for ONE-ON-ONE learning that teachers those new to Blender the element of quality mesh designs. Based on YOUR DESIRES of what to learn, a custom lesson plan is developed and hands on experience and assignments are given to you based on your skill and learning curve! New to Blender? It doesn’t matter! These lessons will start at whatever level you are comfortable and broaden your knowledge! Lessons start at ONLY 3000L per hour and you get: Unlimited assistance;Unlimited questions and answer sessions;Development for clothing, buildings, jewelry and even entire avatar design depending on your own direction of learning and interest levels;Real time voice and visual hands on learning;Development for model game assets to take your skills beyond Second Life DevelopmentEfficient model creation that will earn you recommendations based on your sensible modeling skills which include texturing, physics and LODThis IS NOT a video tutorial, this IS NOT a membership blog that gives you only ‘steps’ to follow; THIS IS a reputable experienced developer, builder and instructor that will be there for you through the steps and beyond as you become a fine tuned builder yourself. “I went through the tutorials in YouTube and over several other sites to learn Blender, and nothing gave me the insight to the “Who”, “What”, “Why”, and “How” like Frawmus did. I couldn’t have continued my education and creative endeavors without him. It was worth every minute and every Linden. I highly recommend his instruction and if his enthusiasm and eagerness to teach doesn’t inspire you to learn, then perhaps I suggest another approach!” ~ Mysteri Fallen I assure you, this is a no-nonsense approach to learning Blender the RIGHT way. There is NO cutting corners and NO shortcuts to learning proper techniques and processes to producing effective and resourceful ways of making low-impact items that will easily provide you with a niche and reputable name as a “meshie” on the grid and in any other platform. For more information contact me in Second Life at "Framusl Resident" or via Skype "Frawmus"
  9. Er.. Another thing When you link a mesh to another object the mesh becomes larger to SL, Meaning the higher level of LOD is seen. If the original creator made it for the mesh to be X size and the LOD is greatly reduces to decrease the LI and you take the mesh, and make it larger (IE linking things) it will use a different LOD to determain the LI, So if you have a small item and link it to where it is a medium size the Low LOD typically would determain the impact, but now its medium determains the impact and the creator didn't make/account for medium LOD then the LI will shoot through the sky
  10. Well another suggestion is to clear your cache, Occasionally when I get major graphics bugs like that Its due to my cache having gone wild~ Everythings worth a try right ?
  11. You could try to install another OS for a dual boot system, or grab bootcamp to run another OS inside of your OS
  12. Well that made me want to bang my head against a wall when I figured it out. Anyhow, Im done here
  13. My physics is perfeclty aligned with the mesh, but yet it still makes my avatar float above them. I can see in the uploader that it is is displaced slightly on the Z axis, but only the one section. I have tried to shrink it and I have tried to displace it on the Z axis.. I am just stuck, What can I do to fix this issue for my custom physics.. Heres a small picture of the uploader lol
  14. Follow the rules, if ever someone comes cracking down on SL content they will hurt you bad in RL too. If you do not have IP rights to the content then DO NOT upload it. Assume the creator does not have content rights unless otherwise proven. Which in most cases they don't.
  15. Is it just me thats getting really sick of people just posting that link? I mean, come on! Post something that could contribute to the post. like "Oh you feel lonely, So do I! Lets chat!" Not tl;dr heres a link
  16. Someone copybotted a copyrighted design.. Interesting. Also intriguing is that I did not know you could copybot sculpts, Did you perhaps leak your sculptmaps in various places?
  17. Would it be against the TOS to have a forum post that lists every shop who makes "Bad" mesh, and the reasons why one would consider it bad mesh. IE wasted polys, Bad unwraps and texture optimization, Failure to create or generate decent LOD (Triangle LOD), Including photos of items from that shops creations etc. Essentially wanting to give the community education on what makes mesh good/bad and how to support creators who do not painfully contribute to the ever so loud buzzing of your computer trying to handle SL. Forum post would start with 1) Educational post about what is being critiqued, And why/how it impacts you 2)Photos and Comments towards various shops and how they might change their creation 3) Educational links and notes 4) Contact information for anyone who would like to A)Yell at me. B)Contact me to help them find educational resources or advice to improve their designs
  18. To add on to that, Set it to metric = .1 scale will be the exact scale of SL and it does get attached to your DAE but you can also resize in the uploade if needed.
  19. I do teach mesh, Feel free to checkout my profile in-world or leave me an IM
  20. Welcome to the Mesh forum, Where you come with a mesh problem...and leave with a functional and working toilet
  21. Now I would like to incorporate mesh feet with a color hud etc for my soes, but as far as I know of red poly is the only one who has something decent and it is in-world adjustment? Now that is all find and dandy but Is there possibly something better? With multiple poses for the foot? Would I be better off making my own foor/hud? The hud is what really turns me away from this.. Anyhow, know of anything good? Someone want to help me out :D? Possibly free shoes in it for helping XD
  22. Its just a moneysink, Just ignore it really. It means nothing to you or your avatar unless you are interested in playing the "game" that goes along with it.
