i don't think SL itself is anarchic in the common usage sense from the residents pov SL is a police state. by the police for the benefit of the police. the police being linden the company. police state in this context being very similar to the company towns in the 19th century sometimes we think SL is anarchy bc of the behaviours of some of the residents. but is only a small number who behave this way. most of us are conformists. same like people were in company towns. for the same reason. we totally dependent on the company

I think for me that 3rd party adverts on the general webpages and marketplace when not logged in are ok + I worry a little bit tho about 3rd party adverts when logged in on your SL account. 3rd party meaning non-SL members one of the foundations of SL has always been privacy. like anonymity. as we choose or not for ourselves. linden have always guarded this jealously up til now linden enabling 3rd party advertisers the opportunity to make associations between our SL persona and our RL visits to other websites is quite a fundamental change to our current understanding of linden and SL yes we can adblock and we can set browser to tracking protection. but these only voluntary adherence measures. like voluntary for the 3rd party to observe or not as they choose + am not sure how this going to end up but if I end up getting same adverts when I log into SL website as I do when I am on other websites for other reasons RL then am going to worry quite a bit about that

you will be ok. just try chill out a bit and not get stressed to much. like do something for a bit when it getting you down. like cup of tea or walk the dog. or even just go out in the garden cold calling the toughest sales game ever. when done like a 100 and more and get a little string of rejections which happens cold calling. then can get you down sometimes. the flat out: no go away + also sometimes is just a little thing that can tip you over. something that normally you just meet with a smile and shrug off. and on to the next call I not mean to be harsh on you. I can be a bit tipped over myself easy sometimes. and not have any good reason for going down that way + the business idea you got I think is pretty good. can see how that can work for some businesses. not all. but some enough to make it viable. so keep plugging away at it. and hope that it works out good for you

if was me then I start over 1) switch to Win7 Safe Mode 2) uninstall whatever video drivers you got 3) reboot into Safe Mode. will restart in Microsoft generic VGA mode 4) install the original version of the driver that came with your laptop when you get it. the exact version 5) reboot in Normal Mode 6) right click on Desktop and set Screen resolution (if you have to) 7) if you cant run all the programs that you used to run when you first got it. then is mostly likely a hardware problem. will have to go to the repair shop 8) if you can then you good to go + if you are good to go then don't ever change the driver ever again no matter what any popup message says. bc as you finding out they not always help you to go better. specially on laptops which quite often have OEM specific drivers made special for a particular make and model laptop + if the SL viewer message says "help you blah blah blah driver blah blah graphics blah blah" then ignore it. same any other program that wants to help you fix something that not broken if the SL message annoy you when it shows up every time on login then can suppress. so it not check your hardware make a copy of the SL shortcut. then rightclick open the shortcut Properties. add this to end of the target line: --noprobe + more here about all the SL startup parameters: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Viewer_parameters
