  1. Thanks lol, actually I was taking snapshots since i discovered I have that option in the viewer but in April I found out snapshots can be edited and started to learn gimp:p
  2. it depends of many factors... Sometimes the person who was doing the photos didn't had an idea what to do with a photo, had a bad day or whatever.... But when you see your avatars breasts are not round, or that little area of arm under the shoulder (dunno how its called in english lol) is not smooth and nice, or some parts of your body are missing or whatever thats not fixed, why quiet? Just ask, can you fix that? And one advice, always say what you want to get, and always say what you like and whats not so good in the photo you got. When I started to work as a photographer I did some really bad photos, but at that time it was the best I knew lol You always have a choice of asking for another photographer to do it, or not paying and not taking the photo if you're not satisfied..
  3. Heya! Not a bad idea... but... I checked your marketplace store, you have around 50 bracelets, few freebie items, one photo and a few other items. The most expensive item is 150$L which is 30$L for me if I bring a friend and talk him/her into buying that item. For me to earn 300$L I would need to find 10 people to buy that item. Or 15 people to buy a bracelet? Can you find 15 people that have same taste, in one day? Sorry now I'm thinking too much lol Maybe you have more items inworld:) But still, I would suggest you to try and contact a few bloggers and see if any of them would be interested in receiving a free copy of one of your products, trying it and then writing about it. That way you get a free advertising.. Its also a good idea to give all your friends free items, if they like it, they will wear it and other people will see it! Anyone can inspect an item or simply ask "Where did you buy it?" Good luck:)
  4. Typonese?:matte-motes-big-grin:
  5. Create a Flickr account, join one or more groups like this one http://www.flickr.com/groups/sl-picture-pile-ups/ , (don't forget to read the rules of every group) dowload any of the images you want to practice on.. and play:) thats how I practice lol Have fun!
  6. Lol I just went through yours! Didn't even know something like that exist here... Probably because I never checked someones profile here on forums but now I am wondering do other people check and know about those albums? Thank you Valerie for letting us know about it!
  7. I don't see a reason why we couldn't but Flickr is what most SL residents use to make albums..
  8. Thanks Crixus! I'm trying;)
  9. Thank you:) I do whatever I can and whenever I have time. If its something really special and interesting I'll do that first lol. Only rule is if you come to the gallery and order a photo that you want me to make then you're like any other client. And I started few months ago so I'm kinda new too, feel free to ask any question you may have;)
  10. I think I'll find a good use of that. Too often I need to login to SL just to send notes or IMs to people and arrange some kind of a meeting. And too often offline IMs and even notecards get capped or lost...
  11. Uhm... I replied to your post and when I wanted to post it it said "message you are trying to acces is not available" lmao Anyway, I can recommend me! :matte-motes-big-grin-wink: Here is my stream on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/artist_amara/ atm my pc is not allowing me to login and work as a photographer but I'll be ready in a week. If you're in a hurry, you can check my inworld profile (same name) and under pics there is a Picturesque photography one - see for the lanmark. Also, there is a way to get a beautiful free photo done by a professional photographer, all you need to do is to take a snapshot and post it on Flickr, in one of the "Pile up" groups. But that if you're lucky enough and someone actually decides to edit your photo lol I wish you get a beautiful photo and good luck in your search:)
  12. There is one place called Aldora Sandbox and jungle, a beautiful place! I spent there days lol and met many furs, I don't remember names but the ones I talked to were really friendly. Also an admin let me live in one of their caves when I was homeless lmao
  13. If it isn't obvious, baby talk! Though I'm not a native english speaker, I can say that I understand most of adult avatars talk, but when a person comes in and starts to talk using some kind of a not understandable baby language, thats definatelly a line. Or, if an avi asks you "Do you wanna adopt me?" or "Do you wanna be my mommy?", thats a child avi lol Also, I love to ask and avatars usually tell me if they are playing adult or child avis.
  14. Woooho me rules! lol thanks:) I'm working on my spoken english haha
  15. Mine is! First of all, I wanted it to be a world where I could get lost, be all alone and just wander around and explore. In SL, after I stopped to visit newbie, freebie and other popular places, I discovered a whole world of imagination, and every time i find one of those deserted and beautiful places I have a feeling like I am walking through someones head! I loooove it!! Not to mention all those creatures that we can see every day haha (ever met a furry in RL?)! I love them all! Also, I expected to practice and improve my English cause here in rl I don't really have many people to practice it:) Then I wanted to find something to satisfy my curiosity, something which I could learn and explore for more than one day lol, anything... and I found many stuff here. Wanted a job, found many. Wanted to find a way to express my creativity, and found a great photography studio where I work now. I earn some decent amount of lindens, I can afford to have my own home, land, to buy something the same moment when I see it.. all that without any money invested, just time. Yes, only thing I didn't expect is to spend so much time on it.I guess thats the price lol
  16. looool Actually I remembered you from the Bootgasm! I worked there a year ago. But now you reminded me, we talked at Picturesque recently:) Small world hahaha
  17. Hey Pandora:) I delete a person only if he/she did something wrong to me. Happened only once till now. I also put it in my profile, that I am too lazy to clear my list, "delete yourself if you care". Btw, your name sounds familiar to me lol, are we friends in SL? I remember I was writing a name Pandora, and maybe a similar last name, on one of my jobs:p
  18. Great idea and advices! Here are my tips:) 1) Notecards: What you don't wanna save - delete. Otherwise, make a new notecard and name it with todays date, September 8th 2011. Drag all your notecards inside. Save and leave in the notecards folder. Do this once a month. Also, I like to have my notecards sorted, so I have a special notecard that has all my jobs notecards inside, also sorted by date and jobs I was doing since i joined SL. If you do this right you can have a whole year job inside one single notecard! 2) Landmarks: same as notes, delete doubles, all others drag inside one notecard named with the date you saved them. Repeat once a month. If you have a fav shop with many items bought there, for example hairs, then you probably have many duplicated landmarks. The best way to check it is either to filter your inventory or open a world map and check your landmarks. Delete all duplicated. 3) Clothes: when you buy an item check if its no copy. Those boxes you can delete, all other boxes leave saved under objects (this way you can delete clothes and if you change your mind later you can always find an original box and unpack it again). Also, inside your objects folder, make subfolders for different types of boxes (shoes, hairs, poses, furniture...). 4) The best advice for making your inventory perfect is to find a job where you need to stand somewhere (a shop, a studio or whatever) and greet or help customers. Buy a sound radar (there is one perfect for 50$L at the marketplace lol) and start to sort your inventory. You won't miss a single client and you'll have plenty of time to work on your inventory. Also, you will get money for that:) 5) Don't delete your calling cards. Make a box and put them all inside it, don't forget to give a name to that box:) 6) Make one top folder in your inventory (put # in front of the name) and name it "A new stuff, or unpacked stuff.. There you will put all your stuff that you haven't find time to try and see do you need them or you wanna delete them. And they won't mix with other stuff. This advice is also good for hunts, where you can get more than 5o boxes in one single day. Usually you'll need a few days to unpack them all and I know girls that haven't unpacked all their boxes for months lol 7) Same goes for your textures, snapshots, photos others gave you - make a new notecard and put them all inside, give a proper name... 8) I have one folder named Wearing, there are only stuff i wear atm, all others are boxed. 9) Gold rule for deleting - if you can't remember what it is or when was the last time you actually used a certain item, you probably don't need it and you can delete it. (or box if you like to keep everything lol) At the end, when you open, for example your objects folder, inside you will have animations, clothes, hairs, jewelry, shoes... and inside them all your backup inventory in boxes. And when you open your "Wearing" folder, you have subfolders with Animations (2 AOs top), Clothes (subfolders of dresses, pants, shirts, whole outfits...), Hairs (only few of your fav hairs that you usually wear), and so on;) I am in SL for more than a year and my inventory is usually around 8k of items. I hope this will help someone:)
  19. Hello Strophanthus! Would you mind working as a sales representative at one photostudio?
  20. Heya! Look at my stream and see if you like.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/artist_amara/page2/ I will be available in a few days:)
  21. All photos I made for my clients were handed as full perm, also some people had troubles with uploading, then I just change the photos to .jpg and send to clients mail. I believe if you ask for it, any photographer will do same for you:)
  22. Heya Nancy! Check and see if you like:) http://www.flickr.com/photos/artist_amara/
  23. Hello Lola:) I would like you to make a house that fits into 1024sqm plot. This house needs to have two, maybe 3 floors. One floor is for friends to hang out when they come, needs to have a smal pool inside and a few sitting things (whatever u prefer). Second floor is for my photo studio, just an empty space where I can put my posestands and props. I would like it to be at the top with opened roof so i can use the light from sun too:) and huuuge windows haha And one of the floors is all up to you, make something that fits the other two lol, or just make 2 floors. I don't need a bedroom with a bed, but if you think the house needs it, make it:) Not sure do I want stairs or teleports between the floors... Colors - red and silver combined with any dark wood texture (I like wenge), I also want alot of light. Many windows as bigger as you can make them. White floors. Maybe few plants, not flowers, just green leaves. One or two fountains;) I like the water and the sound of the water... Also, not more than a 200 prims, and a price too, not more than a 200-300$L if you like the idea I can show you some houses that i bought and wanted to modify to fit me
  24. Hello Amore:) I am a new SL photographer and planning to be really succesful and famous one day lol When I wanted to become a photographer first I found a nice photo studio with high traffic and nice staff and applied to work there as a sales rep. At the interview I told my boss that I applied because I want to become a photographer one day but first I want to learn as much as I can about how things work there. I got the job. Then I started to post my photos on flickr and Fb (before Fb deleted many avatars accounts). Most of the times I was shooting myself or few close friends but soon other people started to ask me to do photos for them. After a month I showed my flickr to my boss and she asked me "Do you want a promotion?" lol, and i got my photographer tag. I am still learning, practicing every day, atm trying to draw hair and most of my free time I am browsing through flickr or other pages with photos. To be succesful, just do what you think its good, and practice practice practice... Its a great feeling when you get a msg saying that a client was asking for you to make the photos! I added you on flickr, nice photos you have there!
