Wow!! So true for today and something that would work so well considering everything going on.  Actually just a cool add to regardless of the message.

Why would WR Grace run this? Aren't they a restaurant management and consumer products conglomerate?

This one is pretty compelling as well:

The comments under the Ridley Scott video are depressing, people arguing about whether it's anti-democrat or anti-republican not realizing both parties played a big part in the out of control deficit.

The second video itself is even worse, instead of simply conveying the message that we need to take control of the national budget, it slips some awful misinformation into the mix along with a dose of xenophobia.

The budget issue can't get solved so long as the public buys into the "us versus them" rhetoric of Democrats and Republicans.

Us versus the Government is going to be the only way it gets taken care of.

i agree..

the only thing is..we are just as bad as them..until americans get over this want inplace of need..it will always be a problem..want gives birth to greed..survival gives birth to need..

going broke would do a lot of people some good to get in touch with need..

we need a renaissance..a whole new system..one that is based on whats in our hand rather than the two promises in the bush to be paid for later.

our nation has become too spoiled and too over sensitive and way to dependant on many different things that keep us distracted and divided..

i'm all for united we stand..it would be a nice change..all i have seen in my short life has been the divided we fall..

all these inspiring sayings we have for this country remind me of some comedian spitting out one liners..united we stand divided we fall..put right there infront of our faces the whole time..people chanting it like it were true..never actually acting on it..just hoping someone else was out there taking care of it for them..

i am so worn out on politicians..but i'm also worn out with us acting like we had nothing to do with all of this with our own little contributions that mimic exactly what they have done..

we need to fix ourselves before we could ever think of becoming strong enough to fix the government..

i can't help feeling the way i do..i just don't feel we have it in us to get something like that done..not until spoiled people get a taste of having to survive for real..

Agreed Ceka.

But JFK has said something almost similar to that and look where he ended up. Goverment is powerless, they are mostly talking puppets and soap commercial models. I don't think you should go against the goverment first. I think you should go against the top 100 forbes most rich and influencial individuals in USA. Go against them and watch the Goverment bows down to the common people.

Tocqueville, among other things, warned in Democracy in America against an increasingly larger central government populated by politicians who would eventually resort to bribing the citizens with their own money to increase and retain their own power.

This came to pass a long time ago.   Now we have over half the people in the country paying no taxes and demanding the other half pay more in order to support their mis-guided beliefs that government is supposed to provide for their needs.   The mindless masses buy into government pronouncements that welfare, housing at government expense, free healthcare and every other want and need are rights due them at the expense of others.

Now the statists are firmly entrenched.  Their programs ensnared large swaths of the population in a defacto state of slavery, as larger and larger portions of the population become more dependent on the government largess for their existence.   They enforce their will through promises of more and more programs to enrich the special interests. They promote class warfare as a means of further enraging those too lazy and feckless to take care of themselves.

There is no hope of halting the downward slide until Americans take responsibility for their own lives and stop willingly trading their individual liberties for more government hand outs.   Until we find the courage to return to a small central government, and elect politicians who will live within the boundaries established by the Constitution, we are destined to become just one more failed and bankrupt socialistic society.

i think if we put ourselves in check first..that doing that would fix a lot of things..a lot of these corporations couldn't handle if all of a sudden americans started to live within their means and more twards need than want..a lot of them would buckle..

but then again..the way they have it set up..if we are not spending on our wants  then our dollar is gonna suffer..because we would not be spending nearly the amount they would need us to spend..

it's a crappy system..hehehehe

The 0.1% of the U.S. population who own the country and are responsible for the current mess are very fond of this inane war of political ideologies. It plays right into their hands. Divide et impera.

It's time for a different kind of "us versus them", with "them" being the fat cats who bought the government, and ultimately the government itself. But since the general population of wage and debt serfs has been indoctrinated that such thoughts are anti-American and make baby Jesus cry, it will probably never happen.
