Venus Petrov
Pattie Boyd, inspired both George Harrison and Eric Clapton to write these (and other) songs: And, 'she' is in this vid when she was George Harrison's wife:

Ishtara Rothschild
This is one of the few love songs that I really like: ETA: The movie wasn't bad either. Although as far as modern day Shakespeare adaptations go, I much prefer Michael Almereyda's Hamlet.

Layla was actually about Patti's sister, Paula, with whom Clapton was living while conducting an affair with Patti while Patti was still George Harrison's wife. Pretty normal for SL, not so much so for RL. Pretty sordid actually. I met Eric too at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in London which I was dragged along to by a visiting American friend who used AA to stalk people. They threw me out when I said "My name is Rudi; I am not an alcoholic". Rudi
Mayalily
Not from what I've heard. I've heard Layla was written about Pattie Boyd, not her sister. lol The wiki also says so: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Layla
Mayalily
Yeah Venus reminded me of those. My rl bf told me of some things in Pattie Boyd's book, but I haven't read it yet. But, speaking of The Beatles, this is one of my favs and a great love song, too. I love this one!

JoJo Moeleneaux
Valerie, this isn't an awww love song but it's a love song and I love it :matte-motes-smile: This isn't a traditional love song, more of a love tune. Although it could be that I associate it to the movie Franky & Johnny so it feels like a love song to me :matte-motes-smitten:
leyna1488303852
This is the only video I could find of this. I've always loved "Wild Horses", but heard the Elvis Costello and Lucinda Williams version for the first time the other night dancing with my partner and I was a puddle. The lyrics never got to me before like they did listening to these two sing it. *kleenex please* (oops maybe this belongs in the songs that make you cry thread. but it wasn't sad crying, it was love crying. romantic dreamy tears. okay I'll stop talking now)
JoJo Moeleneaux
Lyrically one of the loveliest love songs I've heard. Not a good video but the lyrics to this gets me every time I hear it :matte-motes-smitten:
