Last year I read an article by lure SL (https://www.lure-sl.com/sl-body-statistics/) speaking about the statistic on the most popular SL mesh bodies. (beautifully written and very inciteful!)

As a creator in 2022 (From requests I've received) I cant help but feel like these statistics has somewhat changed. Is anyone aware of a newer current article or a place that has the statistics?

I don't do surveys as those can be gamed.

I use bots and scripted objects that travel the grid and report what people are actually wearing.

Reborn is currently the best trending body, though.

Despite currently having 2% of the market, it is 2nd only to Maitreya in terms of uptake in the last 180 days.

In regards to Genus, it doesn't look for names. It looks for mesh creation times, an immutable prim param.

I specifically grouped Genus like that years ago, but can't remember the reasoning at the time.

I can look into separating it, but that will take some time for data correction to go through all user records and change things including all archived stats lists.

It won't be "soon", sadly.

Still Maitreya by a country mile, with the next nearest (Legacy) with about 1/7th of Maitreya's market share. I think Reborn will overtake Kupra soon to become #3, and maybe overtake Legacy to take second place in a year or so, but it will be a few years before anything beats Maitreya's share.

Unless a new body comes out that is both modifyable and has a freely available dev kit (Looking at you, Tricky Boucher?)

If you made your Veanna set for Kalhene Erika Body.. That would be like blood in the water to sharks when it was released or gained word.. So many are just waiting to pounce on another creators stuff for that body..

I know I'd be all over  that outfit first thing.. I love those pants to death!!

Erika may not be the most popular body, but it's one of the best bodies and really  just needs some creators making a variety of things for it.. If you went variety on that crowd, they would be chomping at the bit waiting on releases.. hehehe

THIS - so much this. There are many of us who own Erika and love it to bits but can't wear it often because there's almost nothing to wear.

Make a substantial collection of regular (not club-wear/*****-wear/lingerie) clothing for Erika and you'll make an absolute killing.

It's really not suspicious at all! As a new clothing creator I'm curious which bodies are best to create for. (If this annoys you please skip the thread! 🤷‍♀️

If I never posted this question I wouldn't of found the info on Lucia Fire's ongoing report or known the Erika body even existed (which I'll totally look into!)

Thank you everyone for your input.
