i really love this body but the genus strong face keeps messing up for me with it when i try to wear different shapes of ebody.
would love a really cute head but decent price, thank you...

Genus Strong will work fine with Reborn. You need to wear a shape that works for that Genus head, then adjust the shape's body sliders so that they look nice with the Reborn body (you will need to dial down the thighs and butt probably). There is absolutely no need for you to be buying a new head. If you are buying shapes, always buy them for the specific head you have, not for the body you are wearing.

@Princessist Try this quick start guide...

First: Wear the shape you like best for the eBody. Go into edit mode. On a piece of paper copy all the slider numbers under these tabs: Body, Torso, Legs. Exit out of edit mode without saving.

Secondly: Pick up a shape for the Genus head that appeals to you. You can find some on the Marketplace at various prices. Some samples, so many choices:

Thirdly: Pick a shape. Make a copy of it and rename it to something like "StoreProduct Shape - edited".

Fourthly: Wear your chosen shape. Go into edit mode and plug in the slider numbers you copied from the paper into the respective boxes. Click save.

Hope this helps.

I normally work.with the shape provided for the SKIN which is made.for my specific head.  I buy a skin based on how much I like.the look.of.the skin so would like a similar look.

If you already like how your body is shaped, just write down all those numbers.so you can plug.them into a.new shape you've received for the head skin.

Let me see if I can help making things more clear.

When you get a mesh head and head skin, it generally comes with a shape (for the head part) that is an optimal starting point for that particular head skin. You can use the head portions of the shape as a starting point to customize your mesh head looks. Usually the body part of that shape is not optimal, as the creator does not know what mesh body you are going to use the mesh head with.

When you get a mesh body and a body skin, it generally comes with a shape (for the body part) that will generally speaking look fine, and it will again be a good starting point to customize your mesh body shape. Again, this shape will usually not work well with your mesh head, as the creator does not know what mesh head you are going to use the mesh body with.

So how do you solve this issue, with two different shapes, one that works better for the head, and a second one that works better for the body? @Unwashed Bohemian provided the solution for this issue above in this thread [link]. Just to recap, write down the parameter for the body shape, make a new copy of the shape that came with the head, and merge the body parameters into your newly create shape. The end result is that you'll have the shape of the head that you like and the shape of the body you like in a single new shape.

@Rowan Amore is trying to share with you is how she selects the head look for her avatars. BTW I do the same and would recommend this approach. Go to head skin stores and look for a look that you like. Get demos and try them, until you find the one you like. Once you've done that, you can buy it and use the approach Unwashed Bohemian shared above to merge the head shape with your preferred body shape.

If at the moment you prefer to use free mesh head and free skins, that is perfectly fine. Do not feel pressured into buying anything. Do what you feel comfortable, and most importantly, enjoy your Second Life.

Hope this helps.

If you want, I can help you out inworld. Changing heads, bodies, shapes, and skins is something I do on a daily basis.

If you have a skin that fits Genus + Ebody, you've already got everything you need. If not, I can take a look around and see if there are any freebies out there.

The Free Dove currently has a skin made for Genus.  It includes face and body skin in BOM.  Also a shape.  It would be a good way to see how things work for free.

No worries! Take your time looking around for freebies and playing with your head/body/shapes. You can always send me a message inworld if you get stuck.

Just keep in mind you don't need to buy additional shapes. Make copies of what you have and play with your shape sliders. A good Genus/Ebody skin is all you'll really need, and group gifts and weekend sales make those fairly affordable these days, if it turns out you do need to grab something.

To make a complete look in full mesh, you'll need these mandatory things (I'm assuming you're going full BOM - no alphas except for the eyes):

Mesh head (Genus Strong) and its accessories (eyes and teeth or jaw)

Mesh body (Ebody)

Shape (included in the Genus Strong package OR your skin package)

BOM Skin (it might be in two pieces - one for head and one for body, OR one full skin on one layer - this depends on the store you got it from)

Eyebrow shape (it's the icon that looks like a bad wig)

Alpha layer that hides only the system eyes (included in your head package, usually)

So to get completely dressed, wear the head and body, skin, shape, alpha, and eyebrow shape. The shape and eyebrow shaper will be included with your head, usually, and there may be one included with the skin you've chosen. You can wear either one. Just make a copy of the shape first so you can play around with your sliders to get the exact look you want.

Those are the very basics. You can get into the finer details (changing eyes, ears, earrings, piercings, freckles, makeup, etc.) much later when you've gotten comfortable with this part.

By the way - if that sounds confusing...it is!!! Don't worry - it took me ages to work all this out in my head when I first converted to mesh.

Ok before I try this, this is what happened when I tried adding things and such, but hopefully your way works! https://gyazo.com/9a237aeead15027fe8060f2571f3d7de

Okay, that's not a bad start! It looks like you're wearing the wrong shape is all. So find the shape included in your Genus Strong package, try that one on, and post a pic of that.

It's going to make your body look ridiculous (shapes usually do before adjustment!), but don't panic. Let's just get the head shape fixed first. The body is much easier to adjust later.

Edit: The name of the shape included is "GENUS Project - Default Shape" - try that one on.

Here's what your worn tab should look like in your very basic nekkie form. You can ignore the stuff I crossed out. The system eyes at the bottom are hidden by the alpha, and the other two are my AO and Firestorm bridge. The brow shaper is from my Lelutka Lilly head, since Genus apparently doesn't include one.

I didn't give you a skin.  I posted a link to Free Dove and the picture of the skin that is available there.  It's called Payton.  You need to join the Free Dove group.  7 Deadly Skins almost always has a free skin there.

If you already have the Genus head and a shape you like that works with it, then put those back on and then add on the Reborn body but do not add the Reborn shape. You can then tweak the shape sliders yourself until you get a body shape you like (right click on your name tag and go to edit shape). If there is a shape included with the body you like, but it doesn't work well with the Genus head, then put that shape on, and go into edit and write down all the numbers for the shape on a piece of paper - only the body, torso and legs are needed here. Then put the Genus head shape back on and go into edit and enter the body, torso and legs numbers from the body shape you liked and then you should have the best of both worlds. I hope this makes sense?

It is confusing information.. Usually all you have to do is adjust "body fat" and or neck width.
