Bizarre problem with new second life viewer

I downloaded the new Second Life viewer for Mac as required last time I logged in, 3 days ago.   Now Second Life looks like this.  I have  no idea how to fix it.  i was hopping hey would update the fewer to corrrect it, but they have not done so.  Is anyone else experiencing this strange problem?  When I use the Firestorm viewer everything looks perfectly normal.

OMG that is soooo trippy and amazing! Why would you want it to look normal??

I know it's not the case this time, because it's a reported known bug. But the last time I had that fault it was due to an impending GPU failure.

It may not work twice, like colic cures for babies. It can be a LOD issue where you put that cure-all (as some think) to "4". Or it will be chalked up to your "graphics card".

But likely it will be none of those things, and be related to the Linden software and its bugs.
