I'm doing this simply to put it "front and centre" for LL on this forum.  WHEN is this issue going to be fixed?  I have seen the Grid Status Page and there has been NO updates about this issue since well before Christmas.

It is getting a little old to say that sailing is a pain without it but surely SOME progress has been made with recoding this service?

Update - Now that Uplift has finished we are working to restore the map tile functionality. We still do not have an ETA, but please follow this blog for updates and thank you for your patience!

I'm going to wager the api the used from google has some hurdles when they changed domains since the api key was for one map setup and not another hosted on another domain.   so,  they could also be changing the map system, which would be cool,  google is nice and all but I've seen a few open maps that blow googles away.

Glad it's not just me.  Sailing, horseback riding, driving, any type of exploring is difficult without a grid map reference that doesn't go beyond the mini map of a single sim.
