Deploy plans for the week of 2020-06-22

Recommended Posts

Second Life Server:

https://releasenotes.secondlife.com/simulator/2020-06-12T19%3A06%3A40.543526.html

Scheduled Tuesday 2020-06-23 03:00-09:00 PDT

Second Life RC:

No RC channel rolls are planned for this week.

On Region Restarts:
Regions will be restarted if they have been running for more than 10 days on Tuesday (Main Channel) and Wednesday (RCs) regardless of whether or not new code is being deployed, for the general health and well being of the Simulators. Nothing beats turning it off and then on again ... once in a while.

As always please plan events around these maintenance windows. However, if you are hosting an event on Tuesday or Wednesday when we're not deploying new code, you can restart your region ahead of time to avoid interruptions.

A little early, but better than too late. It was expected that the last RC version would go public. Thank you for the information.

But After Restarted to the newer version. I saw many region having bad performance right now!. slow world map loading couldn't teleport from the region and slow profile loading.

@Maestro Linden: Wow that is quick off the mark!  I guess the decision was an easy one this week then!  I must assume all the allegorical reports I have received about regions running badly after the restart and at least one apparently being duplicated (!!) had no connection to the actual software update being rolled? (No I cannot remember the name of the region: believe me I have tried!)

ETA: this post took two days to materialize!!

@anuk2939mk2: Whay you see is not unknown after restarts..ask the owner of the sim to restart it (or if you have Estate Management rights do it yourself).  This cures such issues most of the time.
