are you allowed to use your sl avatar to make money on other sites?

so I was browing cams when I saw this [REDACTED] im sure that its against there rules to use  anything but your self as the person making the money and I was just wondering if it was against the tos on here to do this  I know if its lindens its fine but just was not sure.

YES you can. There have been many over the years who have created RL business based on their avatar name and even LOOK. They have even Trademarked them.

I am skeptical about how much business that person gets, running a porn video chat with her avatar.  Most customers would prefer to see a live woman.  However, it seems to me that it is simply a reversal of the more usual situation, where an SL escort offers "voice chat" in world.

There's nothing in the SL Terms of Service against it.  However, as the OP points out, other social media object to your hiding behind an alias, whether that is an assumed name, or an avatar.  Facebook has a policy against it, for example.

Which does not mean that it isn't done.  It can even be done profitably.

Doubt it´s against the rules as long you do not show others involved without permission.
But it could be selling SL goods on a RL market; i remember this was against the TOS.
Anyway it´s what all SL escorts now do ...

But why would someones spend real money on a toon when could watch 100s (1000s) real girls doing this stuff ??? Very desperate

In the website you sent I do know they don't allow anything but your own flesh self on the camera, at least as far as I know, but when it comes to SL not sure.

It's likely best to remove the direct link to the very pornographic site and replace it with something G rated and generic like "Sex cam site and saw an SL avatar there"
