EVENTS SPAMMING

I see the events list on the website is a lot cleaner now. No longer do we have to wade through piles of spam to find genuine events. Thanks Lindens!

Well, I thought it was cleaned up but now Elite Escort club is spamming.  They get away with it by just putting different text in name of event when it's not an event at all.  

Did an abuse report on Elite Escort Club for their 30+ event listings, 3 to 4 per hour.

thank you Galilla, it's nice that at least someone is taking the time to do this. some of the clubs are so bad at this.  considering all the wording inside the message is the same it's a wonder that LL doesn't have a script that can scan events the same day to see if the same message and sim address comes up more than once and just flag it for review.  it's bad when users are the ones having to flag messages like this considering how old SL is as a platform, the issue is not a new one.

 

so thank you from all of us that find the events listings fairly useless without users trying to keep it clean.  I would love it if the events listings worked better, i'd be tempted to go to more sims to try them out and buy things and spend lindens to support those sims/artists.

Well the more the merrior YYC1.  You also can file an abuse report and I hope you do.  This Elite Escort Club that I mention have different wording in their listings but none are even about an event.  But they all have "@Elite Escort Club" in their subject line.  You'd think that LL's algorythm would pick that up!

Todays repro:Seach events for "SEXY BDSM HALLOWEEN at TOYS"
Each day, twice a day (12AM & 12PM) there are ~26 duplicate events posted for Toys club, for the same event, starting at the same time with the same wording.
This has been an ongoing issue for over a year.
Ref: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-40954, which reports the same club, a year ago.
Each batch of spam is posted by 4-5 different accounts which change daily, I'll file an AR for each account posting the spam.
The accounts posting the spam today are: <LIST OF 5 USERNAMES>
I know this club's event spam has been AR'd before & never stopped, so if I'm wasting my time & yours ARing it, please let me know.

I notice many of these events are the same parcel, at the same time.   Is it possible to introduce a technical constraint limiting a parcel to only one event at a time?  I can't really think of a valid use case for having overlapping events on the same parcel.
