need way to install vuewer to ssd drive used as flash drive

The problem would be the folder used for settings and cache and stuff, even if the library lets you use your own software.

I think Windows split these things between several locations, but I don't use it, and the details are OS-specific. It's the sort of thing that a lot of software can do, it can be very useful (you can run a test version without clashing with the older versions), but I have a dread fear that SL viewers just can't do it.

An impossible part of the problem is the Registry Entries. The install program places data the viewer requires in the computer registry. There is no viewer that would allow you to place the Reg Entries, logs, settings, and caches on a USB drive. You could build one, the viewer is open source. AFAIK, no one has.

PS: A bit of research... someone did build a portable viewer for SL & OS. It appears to be about 4 years out of date. https://sourceforge.net/projects/phoenixportable/
