Blocking and making someone else invisible

Ok, so I know how to block someone, but yet I can still see that person I blocked.  Used to be, when you blocked someone they would be invisible to you.  What am I doing wrong? Can anyone assist.

I'm not sure about other viewers, but with Firestorm, you can right click on an avatar and derender them.

I use Viewer 3 so I don't know if that is an option.  But thanks for trying.

You can set in preferences that render them as a grey form. Been that way as far as I know since I have been in SL  I can only assume your viewer had that option.

ADDED: You have to set the AVATAR IMPOSTERS to enable.

You can't use the derender feature in the sl viewers as far as I am aware. It only exists in the others. They eliminated the ability to permanently make someone invisible in the official viewers, lol.

Have you tried just looking away?  I mean, you *are* in control of what you cam, right?

Yeah I suppose.  But like when you go to the same place and there is that one person who has to be disgusting looking, I'd just like something to allow me to make them invisible.

this feature broke late last year when the "simple impostor" code came in with SL Viewer 3.6.7.281793 but it's not clear if it broke intentionally or not.
