  1. Newbie: "how do I make money in this game" Mentor: "Have you considered becoming a trashy whore?"
  2. "Are you employed?" "yes, I hook myself in second life"
  3. LOL who cares. They're fat nerds. To be fair they're probably right about the demographics here.
  4. Pretty sure they don't say this anymore. But who knows, is anyone here under 50? anyone? anyone? Bueller?
  5. You can join riding clubs in sl too, and enter competitions with your Teegle horse. I entered once with mine and crashed through walls and into other regions. I need to keep my day job. Some people were really good at it.
  6. I hope not. And to your point, I also hope nobody's going to call you a bad friend, make a passive aggressive thread about you instead of resolving things in a private message like an adult, and then post that your opinion is based in the fact that you're angry beause you spend too much time in sl. People can be incredibly sanctimonious but also totally un-self aware, so I feel you on that one for sure. But I disagree about the moles doing the work of a mentor because I've known people who got a lot out of it and were okay with doing it for free.
  7. It's not though really. We're customers. As Prokofy pointed out, this is maybe the 6th iteration of the welcome area. I feel like LL should hire outside consultants and game devs at this point for the next one. It's not terrible, but it's not very compelling either.
  8. When I started SL ages ago, a resident named Cubey Terra used to bring newbies for balloon rides. People loved that.
  9. They could have included all kinds of activities to get new users interested, hunts, bowling, whack-a-mole (the game), roller skating, a shooting gallery, rides. Free, interactive stuff aside from gambling. And before this post gets reported, because you know someone will, this isn't me hating on the work the moles have done, these are suggestions for the next iteration of the welcome hub.
  10. Yikes. I dunno man! I was never trained to expect compliments and I'm female too. Anyway, I do feel for Sid it's probably very much a generational, thing.
  11. That's really cool. I know someone who makes houses in sl and they say the decorated models always sell best. Interesting how this guy places things too, a lot of multi selecting and moving around.
  12. Nifty tool, but we're talking about texturing the actual terrain.
  13. I love this idea too but as Qie pointed out, the concern is that'll it'll end up looking like a weird quilt.
  14. When's the last time a thread made it more than a few days in general?Guys. Ladies. Whatever. Come on. Stop reporting each other. And stop the passive aggressive thread making about each other under the guise of sanctimony. I would laugh because it's getting so ridiculous but I used to like coming here. I'm sure it's running new users off.
  15. I'm sorry this happened to you, a smiliar thing happened to me. Ideally there's a balance between being a fan of something and losing perspective to the point where you're attacking people if they have anything negative to say about the thing you're a fan of.
