  1. As others have mentioned, much of the economic metrics previously available have been disabled by LL but Tyche Sheppard who runs the gridsurvey website also has an interesting weekly report over on SLU that might be of interest to you. Tyche has the most comprehensive, independent information publicly available that I'm aware for SL.
  2. I'm not letting Scylla take all the glory! I've also read and enjoyed it and agree with everything that she mentions. It's also been discussed a few times back in the archived forums if you'd like additional perspective.
  3. There are limits in place to mitigate against fraud but you can see your specific details on the Lindex Billing and Trading Limits page. It also gives you instructions on how to request a limits review for your account that may take up to 5 business days.
  4. This page is a pretty good reference for all the different features and functions as well.
  5. Kaimi Kyomoon wrote: I went to the thread at that other place looking for Mari's Monday pictures and found a link to here! Now I have to spend my morning making a cool new forum pic, figuring out how to get it installed etc. And I was planning to get some serious work done on my serious new computer. But oh well. It's great to see everyone. I'm so glad you finally got a new computer Kaimi! I saw that you had in few other places. Suella did a nice little post on how make a badge in this thread. I haven't gotten around to it and getting the size right as far as I read can be a bit tricky.
  6. oops, you're right! I was thinking about optimizing your parcel for search.
  7. I don't know what the criteria is, but I do know that LL uses the Google search appliance api and the algorithms are super sekrit. There's also a bit more info here on how to optimize your listing for your group.
  8. If you look at the jira comments here, there may be a few workarounds you might want to try. It looks like LL is aware of the issue and is working on it. You may need to log in to the jira website with your SL credentials to view the bug report.
  9. The proper dimensions for profile pics can vary depending on which viewer you're using. You can see the proper dimensions for textures based on use at this page. It can be a bit tricky as each type of picture can have different dimensions and aspect ratios. Textures Aspect ratios of profile, place, etc. pictures — all of these were measured at UI size (Edit menu > Preferences > General tab > UI Size) = 1.000: 1.x Series Viewers (official Viewer up to 1.23.5, most Third Party Viewers) Search > All for "Classifieds", "People", and "Places" - 4:3 (256x192 pixels) Search > Places and Classified tabs - ~7:5 (398x282 pixels) Search > Land tab - ~7:5 (358x252 pixels) Profile > 2nd Life tab - ~4:3 (178x133 pixels) Profile > Picks tab - 16:9 (288x162 pixels) Profile > 1st Life tab - 1:1 (133x133 pixels) Profile > Classifieds tab - ~3:2 (206x137 pixels) Profile > Web tab - 1:1 (400x400 pixels)A scrollbar uses 15 pixels on the right-hand side. Some textures inworld have a resolution as high as 2048x2048; this is due to a previous limit that was higher. We strongly recommend you use as small textures as possible because larger ones consume more memory and take substantially longer to load.
  10. From the Advanced Menu > Show Debug Settings, find RenderMaxNodeSize. The default value should be 8192, and the higher you go the less likely tiny prims will disappear as your view moves away. A higher RenderVolumeLODFactor tends to help more with preventing sculpts from appearing as blobs as you cam further away from it.
  11. I figured it wasn't enabled it, much like kudos at the moment. In lieu of such, please accept this tasty slice of gouda as a token of my appreciation for confirming this.
  12. Ya I'm thinking it's an inactive feature, like how kudos currently is, but I thought I'd check with our esteemed community!
  13. The highlight option is only available under forum threads and not SLA, blogs or the KB so you may have looked in the wrong place.
  14. I saw somewhere that Torley is aware of the poor highlighting of links so perhaps we'll have watermelon coloured links in the near future
  15. It sounds like the land is being griefed. You can notify an officer/owner of the land, or if you can identify the object making the noise/particles, you can right click and abuse report the item to Linden Lab. You can also use these tips to try to identify the source of the sound in order to find its location. Generally speaking in these griefing incidents, there are multiple objects, but if you see that there are just a few you can mute the item to stop the sound and/or particles.
  16. When viewing a forum thread, I noticed under options on the right side of the post, there is a "highlight" option. Does anyone know what this feature does?
  17. I haven't noticed any of the log out issues but when the email takes you to just our two replies, there is a "view entire topic" link that is easy to miss, right below your original question on the left hand side.
  18. I've noticed the same thing but I think it's because the poster has edited their response which generates another email. I do find the automated emails themselves a bit busy with a lot extraneous information, so they could use a bit of tweaking for brevity.
  19. Oops I missed the party but then again I haven't been inworld much lately. Looks like it was fun!
  20. Are you talking about the new user groups they announced in this blog post? I think you can get more info on how to participate in that blog posting. As for the ability to add to the knowledge base, you have to be at an "advisor" level and up in order to do certain things with KB articles.
  21. Lexie Linden wrote: I agree. Unfortunately that is not an available feature. If it becomes available we will let everyone know! Thanks for the clarification Lexie. It's easy enough for me to scroll past content I don't want to read but I'm sure it would come in handy in some cases. Hopefully it will be available in the future.
