  1. That is one silly looking program. Thanks for sharing it! SL has been suffering a distinct lack of silliness the last couple of years. :smileyvery-happy:
  2. For some reason, I can't set a listing enhancement on my products.
  3. You wouldn't go to your friend's Banking website forums and try and ask people how to get their checking account unlocked, would you? You would expect the bank to say "sorry that matter is private between the bank and the account holder. Cell phone service, internet service providers, and yes, even gaming sites and MMOs all say the same thing.. if you have a financial problem with your account, don't complain about it in the forums, contact the company directly. We (other users of Second Life) can't help you, because we don't know who your friend is, we don't know what specific error the friend is receiving, we don't know what kind of payment method they're using, we don't know ANYTHING about their situation.. and it's none-of our business to know. Tell the friend that they need to be patient, and if neccessary try contacting Linden Lab again. But they're not going to be able to get any help in the forums for this situation, and neither are you. Again, I wish I had something more helpful to suggest, but it's a private matter between LL and the accountholder in question.
  4. Financial and Account related issues are really only the business of the person affected, and Linden Lab. The person affected should seek out Linden Lab Customer Service at https://support.secondlife.com or use any other support methods or contact methods suggested to them in the error messages they received. It's nice that you want to help your friend, but there may be things going on that you're not privy to, that we're not privy to either. Suspicious activity on their credit card, suspicious buy-L$/cash-out behaviour, etc. Only the Lindens know why the Risk API is triggering for this person's account, and only Linden Lab can do anything about it. It's simply time for them to file a support ticket, and wait. Sorry.
  5. I'd be happy if we just got more premade skins, and one that didn't have any "boxes" overlapping the background.
  6. Keli Kyrie wrote: One hundred images my seem like a lot but in a visual world they can go fast and if they do what happens to the knowledge base? It's really unreasonable to expect LL to continue providing image hosting for every image that forum users might decide to upload. Eventually Linden Lab will really need to open image posting back up to allow images hosted on services like snapzilla (pics.sluniverse.com), Imageshack, yfrog, Flickr, Picassa and others. It's only a matter of time. The issue you pointed out is a very real one, with each user limited to only 100 images, and images posted to answers and knowledge base count toward that limit.. Its simply unsustainable. Torley could use up that limit in a fortnight.
  7. it's the "Tokyo Madness" theme with a replacement background. (wishing there were one without ANY "boxes")
  8. FInally managed to get a forum avatar set up that I like. Took ages tho. (thinks we need a "Show off your Forum Avatar" thread.
  9. Do you by any chance have "Show Transparent" enabled? (if not, ignore the following) When your legs are hidden by an alpha mask (or any body part for that matter) they're considered "transparent" by the viewer. So when you turn on "show transparent" (to see the alpha-textured prims, which you might do while editing a shoe, for example) your feet will reappear. Best advice, work on the shoes while "rezzed" in space, instead of while wearing them, and when doing fine work like adjusting alpha-textured prims, hop off the posing stand while you work on those bits, then turn off transparent and hop back on to check your work.
  10. This is a perfect example of the type of question that belongs in the "SL Answers" area, and would probably make a great addition to a knowledge base article on "inspecting" or "getting creator" on things.
  11. Not on someone else's avatar. This is partly because what you're seeing on the person ISN'T the skin, shirt, pants and so-on.. what you're seeing is a composite image created by the other person's viewer, using the textures and settings from those assets. If you want to know who made your own skin, eyes, and so on, locate them in your inventory, right click and select "properties" You'll see the creator's name, as well as the permissions available to you.

Thanks for posting this. It took me a few minutes to figure out what to change, but I was able to figure it out, and I've never used firebug before today.
  13. I would like my Second Life display name to be shown in the forums. :smileytongue: There's a place for us to enter a custom First and Last name on the forums, and I'm happy using that, but even though I've set my display name manually there, my name is still showing on the left of my posts as my "Account Name" P.S. Where did the "Kudos" buttons go? They WERE here earlier.
  14. Cybin Monde wrote: i saw that you can change your packground, could you not then use a picture of yourself there? I haven't checked yet, so i'm not sure if that's possible. But if so, then it seems you could put a store logo or something in the small rectangle. Please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong on this. It's possible, the problem there is that the text flows over the background, forcing you to work around it. As you can see in some of the other posts in this thread, people have done that. The results are certainly less than ideal, but if that ends up being the ONLY option, it is an option at least. My request however is to fix the actual issue, rather than developing workarounds. Cybin Monde wrote: I think i like it overall though. It seems like a more convenient set-up, with a cleaner presentation. This, I definitely agree with.Cleaner, easier to navigate, more professional, and a bit more pleasant to work with. And I really feel like I've got a bazillion settings and options. We can even use limited css markup and html in out signatures. (tables, spans, even divs are allowed, and the system is smart enough to fix errors, auto-close tags, and limit css that might break the page display. And we also seem to have a lot more space in terms of html in the signature, than we ever did, so we can load up on hyperlinks and link up our other sites, blogs, and marketplace listings, as desired. I do wish that the signature space were a bit taller.. at least tall enough for the popular Snapzilla snapshot-signatures.
  15. Three requests. I would like my "Registered Date" to reflect my account creation within Second Life. Surely this is just a matter of merging data from two tables. Large tables, I'm sure... but still just data in databases. I think it's far more useful information, showing my account's age and experience within SL, rather than "when I started using the Jive forums" I'd like image posting to work better. I get a lot of errors now, even when following the rules, and editing a post breaks an image reference. I would like a larger forum userpic. Second Life is a visual experience, and our "Avatars" are what drive most of Second Life's success. Please let us show off our wonderful, wacky, and creative avatars, and help us to reach and engage new SL users, by letting us show off Second Life's avatar customization by displaying "userpics" of at least 100x100. THIS. or even THIS. even this would be better. (this is the actual-size version of the image you already let us upload) but not this, please.
  16. Another thought occurs. You can also "reply" to the email that said you received an offline message. That won't open an IM window with the person, but if you make a compelling enough message, they'll be sure to respond, which will result in opening an IM. "I'm sorry, I'm having a little trouble finding you in search. Could you please IM me the next time you're online, so I can send you a replacement?"
  17. I honestly don't know if we can override that privacy setting by "just typing" their name into a profile URL manually. Ideally, that privacy setting should hide the profile from search, but it should still BE at that address. I'm not sure how it's implemented though. You might try that, assuming you know their "true name", since the display name doesn't enter into the URL syntax. For example, try dialing up the webpage with https://my.secondlife.com/<true.name> and see if you can access it in that situation. If you can, you should be able to open an IM from there.
  18. How would I be able to contact a customer who had sent me a notecard (or whose IMs don't show in the IM panel because the were capped) this way? How would I be able to redeliver items due to a failed delivery? The same way we've done for months since they made "don't show in search" an option, and since setting a display name effectively deletes their old "true" name from search. We search for their name, and hope they created a group or that their name shows up someplace else. We pray that they sent us a notecard that they themselves created (as opposed to the noob tactic of re-using someone else's notecard).. you can go into inventory, right click on the notecard, and "get properties" to see the Creator, and open an IM from there. We inspect an object they created, to get a link to their name off that. Or we hope that they will IM us. You can drop inventory on an IM window, so if you can get an IM window open to them, you can easily send them things. 99% of the time, if there's a problem, the customer will IM you, or send you a notecard something (which in 2.5, also opens an IM window). It's hardly a perfect solution, but this is what we deal with when user privacy is deemed more important than ease of contact. It's the life we live every day in the real world, full of do-not-call lists, and people who are unlisted in the phone book.
  19. Can you address a number of things? 1. Why is this out of beta? Moreover, why, as a 2.4 user, was this just FORCE installed on my system? 2. The web profiles are not functional. They don't contain Picks, they don't let me edit anything, and since there are no Picks, I can no longer use this as a workaround for the broken Search function. 3. Why is the authorization token on search still permanently broken? Meh, I guess it's back to the third party viewers if I want to actuall do anything in SL. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1814 https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/STORM-927 Do either of these look like what you're seeing?
  20. It sounds like STORM-927 may be rearing it's ugly head again for some Mac users. Allegedly this was fixed in 2.5.0 Beta 3, but it sounds like some may be seeing this issue again. (Blythe Topaz seems to be having that issue).
  21. Flickr's an option now too. I'm hoping we'll see more soon. I'd really like to link up my YouTube account.
  22. Are you running SL while trying to install it? Try restarting your computer. Sometimes those DLL's can get marked "in use" even when they're not. rebooting your machine, then redoing the install should get it.
