  1. Decided to go trick or treating. Found some interesting homes.
  2. I just went to Marianne's, and when I put the HUD on, all my candy was gone. Just one piece, but still. If I had 687 candies and then they'd poof, I'd be a bit miffed. I at least got a new candy, from Marianne's, but no matter how many times I reattached the HUD I didn't get my full candy count back. Oh well.
  3. lol glad you enjoyed it. Did you try the hot pepper?
  4. Already ignoring them. It's getting way out of hand.
  5. And now we've devolved to the point of using generation-bashing to knock the thread further off the tracks. Oh, BTW...OOPS! I'M SORRY! I forgot who I'm speaking to. "BTW" is little-kiddie-leetspeak for "By The Way" : Hashtags have been around since the '70's (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hashtag#Origin_and_acceptance), so clearly it was the older Millennium People, you know, the one's born in the '50's and '60's, who came up with it.
  6. Sorry, thought it was you. And I like the 10m and sign ideas.
  7. Oh no you WON'T! Oh no you WON'T! I'm putting you on my ban list! NO CANDY FOR YOU! (JK lolz)
  8. Thank you. No one is banned from any of my parcels. Not even people on my List of Forum @#$%'s Who Aren't Worth Talking To lol
  9. You seem to have issues with those with mental health issues. And right after Mental Health Awareness Day. That's sad.
  10. It's not my allegation. @Polenth Yue mentioned it in another thread, with several affirming having the same experiences. And oh, as for what's sad: When people discourage people from being critical of the world around them. #ToxicPositivity
  11. Thanks! It was neat seeing you in-world! And I stand corrected: I thought you had to be a Belli citizen to get candy. You don't. It's open to everyone afterall.
  12. Cuz it's not even a crappy contest. It's a sales gimmick disguised as a crappy contest. You have to be a Premium member to be a Belli citizen. A PAYING Premium member. It's just a way to incentivize people to open up their wallets for things that ultimately don't even exist, instead of going to buy some groceries.
  13. The problem is, Second Life is made in America, where it's so ingrained in the culture that you can't have winners unless you have losers. "Where's the fun in having a sooper-dooper glow-in-the-dark teddy bear if everyone can get one?" It simply HAS to be a competition, like everything else in Western Civilization. So, as in real life, some people try to game the system -- in our case that would be using lists; some people try to make things super-exclusionary -- that would be the folks who added 50+ names to their parcel ban lists, based entirely on names of Forum posters who are more likely to know about the bucket contest than others; and some get fed up with the system -- those who've decided to opt out of this nonsense.
  14. In another thread: So maybe THAT'S where the Campbell Coast folks should all move to? Since both spots are on multi-regional mountainous terrain?
  15. That's a GREAT analogy. 🙂 And here's the pin-tracker thingy: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/DS-BelliFindBelliPin-Package/22266375
  16. Hmmmmmmmm...just brainstorming...maybe the concerned citizens of Campbell Coast could form their own group, abandon or sell their parcels en masse, donate their tier to the group, find an entire region for sale (or a huge tract of Abandoned Land), have someone buy the land for the group, then figure out how to divy it up among the members. That would at least keep the community together. I dunno...again, just brainstorming.
  17. It's really not hidden. All folks need to do is walk around a 512 parcel, at ground level, which should take about five to ten seconds. Within that time, I hope people see enough interesting things to spark their interest, and they'll stick around a bit longer. And it wasn't the fact that 200 people were hiding buckets that led me to find none; I wound up using Firestorm's Area Search to confirm that each region I went to was indeed empty of buckets -- other than the one region where I found one. I agree with you: My time is worth more than what amounts to a gatcha bear. I don't want the hassle of trying to keep track of a no-copy item anyway, especially one I can't go to the Marketplace and get redelivered. I have plenty of teddies (even one dressed in leather lol) in SL, know where the Linden Teddy Bear Castle is (or at least have it landmarked), and get much more enjoyment out of my real-life collection of stuffed animals anyway. So I got my one piece of "candy" (which not even my avatar can eat, let alone the real-life me), and that's enough for the Everybody-Gets-One teddy. I also don't want a "kayn ayin hara" (look it up) issue with winning something that others really really want. Been there, done that, got the game memorabilia signed by the dev team (of another game) and the nastiness of jealous players (of another game) to prove it. So. For those looking for my bucket, don't say "f@#& it" lol. It's in the back. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Purtis/220/111/44 I don't have any free attach-to-your-avatar candy to give out, but there are enough food options, from hot peppers that make you run around with a burning mouth to robot-delivered pizza to satisfy any palate. Plus, I've got a gift for those that take the time to explore a bit to find it: Free mesh clothes!
  18. Been to ten regions, only found one bucket. I quit.

  20. Thanks, that's what I thought. That said, I've seen it used to describe regions that are not the original sixteen. For example, "Land and water, legacy sim Icewater (176, 26) 2048m" is the name of a parcel for sale at http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Icewater/174/28/24 Now, this might just be a sales technique, calling it a legacy sim. Or the seller could be confused, thinking it is a legacy sim -- I've certainly made some mistakes in my own parcel sale descriptions, such as thinking I had a 4x protected parcel when it was really just surrounded by Abandoned Land. Or they could be using the term differently, hence my starting this thread.
