  1. It's my opinion, that you were bullied. Just because a Resident is Old, doesn't mean that they are nice. Granny only looks innocent If the photos are appropriate to the Region's Maturity Rating, I would guess that any Linden judgment, would be made upon "who was there first", rez dates of the objects. From the events as you have described, I suspect that the un-named resident, Disturbed your Peaceful enjoyment of Second Life.
  2. A Sim Sweeper, turned on it's side, might stop them, I believe that it is scripted, to prevent objects from passing through. I could send you one... (if i still have it) If it works, you might be able to put the script in a larger prim. It's a shame, that this has not been taken care of sooner.
  3. You may be a Member in a SL Group, that shares the Group's Liability fee. You may have to leave the Group, or request for the Group Founder, to Not share Liabilities with general Members. If you Own land, selecting to show Land in Search, may cause a L$ to be deducted. At your Dashboard, in the Account History, is a transaction log, that list will show where the L$ were applied.
  4. How much is a lot? If I was desperate, and lost all my class, I might beg. Not Here; unless you enjoy being yelled at, and possibly banned. Why should a Resident part with their hard earned money? What is your cause? Have you ever watched the Movie the Big Lebowski? It's ok to have a mission of self enjoyment, to ensure that at least 1 person, is having a good time for the rest of us. FB, Twitter, Wordpress... if you have a story, people need to read it. If that is too much work, I know of a few freebie stores. -0- L$
  5. hmm... you could rez a Mega Prim in the sky as a barrier, possibly sweep them off sim if you have and edge in the region.
  6. I don't know about Open Sim. Most people I know, use the Preview Grid for testing, Aditi. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Preview_Grid
  7. You can use a search engine on the web to find 3rd party L$ exchange, or Linden Dollar Exchanges. Look to see who, or what Group is running the exchange. Login Inworld, and look for that Resident's / Group Profile, confirm that the Resident appears to be active, and provided instruction on how to receive help if you need it. If the residents is online, and you have questions, you should ask. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Archive/Third_Party_Linden_Dollar_Exchanges
  8. Of all the prepaid cards I have researched, None will work for SL. SL requires a Card type that allows Reoccurring Charges. The green dot Card does allow those charges, but the Card is Only good for use in the Country of Origin. You would need to live in Australia. Options could be to purchase L$ from a RL friend who has an SL Account. Set up a Pay Pal account (3-5 days) :smileyindifferent:
  9. I would like to start a Production Company, to make Movies in SL. The Studio could also produce, and broadcast, MP Video product tours (commercials, you tube, or SL tv) Create a Builders Group, and sponsor a Regional Sandbox, to scout for new talent, and to stay up to date on the latest builds. Create several additional Groups, and a few Advocacy Groups. Start a land-Advert company, begin purchasing mainland micros. Create several Co-op Web based initiatives, which may compliment SL, and generate revenue in SL. Create an Inworld Store / MP Store, offering a Builders product listing service. (profit share) Create a Charitable Group, to support other favorable Groups in SL. Create a few more Groups. (lol, can't tell you all my ideas) Ask,... beg, a certain Company to join SL. Finish the things left undone. That's about enough, to get started. Oh yeah, the Hub idea..., add 1 more Region. A Build team, in each Time Zone, would also be helpful. and a couple bilingual people. and some shirts, and online indicators.. ok I'm done. for now
  10. The Account may be on an Administrative Hold, for a variety of reasons. The majority of instances, are due to an LL request for updated payment information, or because a Resident selected various Account Options. It could also be lag, or the web based profile system.
  11. You could create a new thread here: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Answers/qac-p/Answers List all the data you have here, or, copy and paste the http link to this thread. Check to see if the Drivers for your Computer's Graphic Card, are up to date. A positive with Windows 8, is Microsoft Support. Windows 8 is moving forward, like it or not.
  12. Did you read the previous thread in this Category? http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Second-Life-Viewer/DNS-problems-at-login-a-request-for-information/td-p/1862703 In my opinion, Windows 8 is still very new. It is going to have problems until all the bugs are worked out, and all the World's servers are updated. I will install windows 8, when they start bragging about windows 9, by that time, windows 8 should be working pretty good.
  13. Um novo Avatar, para teste? (Alt account) Usando o Windows 8?
  14. Residents are not permitted to build on, or over, Linden Protected Land. You may report the activity, in an Abuse Report. Select a category, which best matches the type of abuse. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Filing-an-abuse-report/ta-p/700065
  15. We are still waiting for an update, at the Second Life Grid Status. Restarts have not been completed atm. You should wait until the status page reports Resolved. If you have a problem at that time, check back here. [updated 6:50AM PST, 28 January 2013] We are currently undergoing rolling restarts on our main Second Life Server. http://status.secondlifegrid.net/
  16. You should wait until the all clear is given, at the Second Life Grid Status page. [updated 6:50AM PST, 28 January 2013] We are currently undergoing rolling restarts on our main Second Life Server. http://status.secondlifegrid.net/
  17. I cannot recall the exact height, I believe it's under 400 meters if you want the object to be shown on the World Map. 250 Meters might be a good height. You can use prims, or, I believe, a textured panel. It may take a day or two, for the World map to refresh, and for your message to appear.

There's renewed land-splitting extortion happening, and not only the abandoned microparcel problem. There's also a douchebag "network advertiser" whose ads are cropping up in volume, but Arbor Project no longer has resources to counter the threat -- nor even to count the damned things to make sure they exceed the 50 grid-wide limit. They do sometimes screw up and drop more than one on the same sim: a violation we could report--if only there were enough of us left to have an effect.) I think this was inevitable. We have seen a much more lax response to griefing this past year and it's clear that LL have taken their eye off of the ball. They don't seem able/willing to devote enough resources to maintaining order on the mainland and in my experience, the AR process is failing badly as a result. I suspect that a great deal of LL resources are spent supporting Merchants who want to make Money at MP. The second greatest allocation is in hand holding Zindra, followed by Private Region owners. The Mainland, and those Residents, are last in line.
  19. If you witness, or experience Abuse in SL, you may Report that activity to Linden Lab, in an Abuse Report. You do not need any Resident's permission to do so. The Second Life Terms of Service, applies to All areas in SL.
  20. Follow the Shopping link near the top of this page to Market Place. Avatars / complete avatars
  21. Hello pinkdazzie, You can find products at Market Place, follow the Shopping link, near the top of this page. You change outfits by selecting the outfit or clothing from your Inventory folder, and then choosing to wear, or add. I recommend spending some time in Second Life, familiarize yourself with the basic controls, notice on the top tool bar Inworld, that you have many options to choose from. Open the World Map, notice large Continents, and thousands of separated Private Regions. The Mainlands are Linden Owned (Second Life), the Private Regions are owned by Residents like you. You have a Profile in which you may share information. Use Web-safe practices, when deciding how much information you wish to share with the Public. I didn't know what I was doing in SL, for at least a month. All I knew, is that I wanted to build things. That is why I joined SL.
