  1. (i) Users 13 to 15. If you are at least 13 years of age but less than 16 years of age, you may only use the Service if you are affiliated with a Sponsoring Organization, and your Account in Second Life is referred to as an “Affiliated Account.” A “Sponsoring Organization” means a User Organization (as defined in Section 2.4 below) that (i) maintains on the Service a “Teen Estate,” which is Virtual Land and Content that is appropriate for users between 13 and 16 and complies with the General Maturity Rating; (ii) has been approved by Linden Lab, in our sole discretion, to register Affiliated Accounts using our "Registration API" tool; (iii) limits the access of all Affiliated Accounts of users between 13 and 16 to the Sponsoring Organization’s Teen Estate; and (iv) requires all visitors to the Teen Estate to comply with the General Maturity Rating and any other rules that the Sponsoring Organization may impose as long as they are consistent with this Agreement. By accepting this Agreement in connection with an Affiliated Account, you represent that in addition to the representations of section 2.1, you are at least 13 years of age and less than 16 years of age, you agree that you will at all times comply with your Sponsoring Organization’s rules for the Teen Estate, and you acknowledge that you are only permitted to access your Sponsoring Organization’s Teen Estate and no other areas of the Service. http://secondlife.com/corporate/tos.php#tos2
  2. Hi Knowl, that happened to me when I had shadows and antialiasing enabled. If she wants shadows, disable antialiasing, if she wants antialiasing, disable shadows. It was fixed in 2.7.1 though. Here's the thread for anyone else: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Foro-en-espa%C3%B1ol/Problemas-al-iniciar/m-p/943755#M861 oh, also make sure if they are using two monitors that sl is on the primary...
  3. Thanks Ormand! No, no space navigator, but I am starting to think I need to look into one, I just have a simple wireless mouse that was way cramping my little arm just trying to hold it still while I was recording to keep the camera from bouncing all over the place. Thanks for the burlesque show locations, I love Christina and the video she did for Moulin Rouge. You do know I was making a joke about the lack of dancing videos, right? Regardless, thanks for the positive feedback and the tips and hints!
  4. Love: flying, running, shopping dislike: forgetting to hide my huds when filming
  5. Open your people tab. Open my groups. At the bottom is a plus sign. Choose new group. It costs 100 linden dollars. Here's some more info but its looking kinda dated: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Creating-and-disbanding-groups/ta-p/700053
  6. You may still have an alpha layer attached. Open your wearing tab and take off anything that looks like a white checkered tshirt icon.
  7. I have found many cool places by doing hunts. One of the coolest ways I ever found a place, was by tping to a sandbox when I was a slbaby and I fell off of it, I know, right? The sim owner gave me a tour of the place and I climbed ropes, went through underwater tunnels, grabbed onto a rocket that exploded and learned that wearing hats isn't so easy.
  8. In addition, you will want to be logged in in advanced mode, not basic. It is on the log in screen under mode.
  9. I hope you have a copy saved of the hair. What appears to have happened is that you unlinked all the hair prims. The hair is made up of several pieces, called prims. Each prim is attached to each other, or linked, to form one whole object, the hair. If you unlink those prims, the one object becomes many and you get what you have here. No amount of cache clearing will help as it is not an issue with your inventory loading, but rather it is the fact that your hair has been separated into several different pieces. The longest difficultest thing to do would be to move all those pieces back together and link them back into one whole piece. If you are able to do that, then great. The easiest simplest solution would be to start over with a new hair or hopefully a copy of the hair you disassembled. When you do go to edit your hair again, if you do unlink the prims to edit each piece, make sure to link them back.
  10. In Viewer 2 in your sidebar there is a people tab. Click that and go to Groups. Find your group and hover over it and choose the view profile option. In the middle now, under the general tab, you will see Me My Title. There should be a dropdown option with the titles that are available to you. Choose the one you want and click save at the bottom right.

  13. according to the link that is in my answer up above, the third paragraph down says: "Back when, when I organised the third anniversary celebration for Second Life, I made the error then. I somehow got it into my head that it was Second Life’s birthday, rather than its anniversary, and I organised a lot of the signage and promotion that way. How I got that all mixed up, I have no idea." I dont know if any of it is true or not. heres the link again: http://dwellonit.taterunino.net/2011/03/15/second-lifes-ninth-birthday-remember-steller/
  14. I suppose you could say the beginning of second life happened when existence first came to be, as everything in theory either has a beginning or always was. The 23 of June it seems is the day it was made open to the public and is the anniversary date now called birthday. As far as the first rezzed person, I think that blog explained that, but I have heard different names in my short existence. Here might be some of what you are wondering, there are some timeliness in there, but while it says second life began as a thought in the shower, it doesn't give a date http://secondlife.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline
  15. Here's an interesting read that claims march 13 is the actual birthday and June 23 the anniversary. http://dwellonit.taterunino.net/2011/03/15/second-lifes-ninth-birthday-remember-steller/
  16. June 23 2003 was the day it was launched into public status.
