  2. You must be inworld to edit your appearance. The link that I gave you explains how to do it once you are inworld. So, log into SL and then right click your avatar. You will see a pie open on yourself and select 'edit appearance'. A box will open next to your avatar where several body parts will have buttons and sliders that you can use to change the way that you look. I would suggest that you have the webpage available behind your viewer so you can tab to it to read instructions as you go along. Patience will get you a long way here. That and kindness to others who are attempting to assist you.
  3. Welcome to SL! This KB article and links may be helpful to you. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Editing-your-appearance/ta-p/700709 My understanding from your other posts is that your avie is female and you wish it to be male. There should be several 'outfits' which would include skin, hair, shape, clothing in folders within your My Outfits folder in your inventory. Look there for several starter avies. There should be both male and female available. Good luck!
  4. Cali Souther wrote: Hippiestock was awesome!!! When's the next great party planned for???? :smileytongue: I believe that it is considered an annual event. Welcome back Cali!
  5. Wildcat Furse wrote: I will attend next year ;o) *meows* Yay Wildcat! It was lots of fun and I am sure next year will be even better!
  6. Your quote button can be found once you go into the Post Message box. It is on the upper right corner next to Spell Check. Lovely avatar!
  7. My hope is that RIC will just highlight a concern to a live moderator who has the requisite intelligence to see if it truly violates a guideline and would be able to point to said guideline for the 'offender'. There is nothing more irritating than being 'reported' and not knowing why you were reported.
  8. Hello Ags! Welcome to the newest subforum! Those of us who asked for a place such as this yesterday got our wish! YAY!
  9. rotpaulette Carter wrote: Remembering Hippiestock? erm, no, not at all, i just know we will have one, but just next year.:womanvery-happy: /me waves at rot Twas a wonderful event!
  10. Hippiestock would not have *been* had not all those awesome looking avatars showed up! /me gives another shoutout to Hippiestock
  11. Ok here's another one...in a bit colder clime...
  12. As Quinn has suggested with her posting of Strengthening the SL Community (revisited), reminding ourselves of pleasant times can help to draw us back together in this new incarnation. While the SL forum was offline, a wonderful, complimentary article was published in The Alphaville Herald. In a couple of long threads after the event, one featuring tireless efforts at getting more (and MORE) avatars into a giant photo, there was such good feeling and will coming from that event. It was great to see it reflected in this article. Prokofy may not have liked it, but so many others who attended enjoyed themselves. /me gives a shoutout to Hippiestock!! (imagine multiple dancing emoticons here)
  13. Chocolate..the darker the better...dribbled over strawberries. Washed down with a lovely California cabernet sauvignon.
  14. Kylie Jaxxon wrote: I agree, it should be moved over there...really surprised Suspiria didn't start one. :smileysurprised: btw...these smileys are awful :smileysad: Excuse me, but she is not the only one capable of starting such a thread! (btw, photo coming Mr. OP)
  15. Most establishments will not hire someone until you are 30 days old. I know, it sounds unfair. There are many many freebie places around that will provide you with decent skins, hair, clothing to help you get buy if you do not desire to exchange your currency for Lindens. Exchanging, however, is the fastest way to get what you want. Especially if you want to rent or purchase a home/parcel. Welcome to SL and good luck!
  16. Maureen Boccaccio wrote: well...just in case it is: /me whips off her pants in salute Careful! There is a 'Pants' on another forum who might have something to say about whipping her off.
  17. Your best bet is to join the Phoenix Support Group and send them a group IM.
  18. Thank you for listening! Now, can we also have an adult-only subforum?
  19. Cato Badger wrote: Now all we have to do is convince them that the Off Topic Forum should be allowed to be self-moderating. And, adult-rated. /me smiles wickedly
  20. I tend to agree with the moderation bit..but for the spam. There are programs that ought to spot that crap.
  21. Perhaps a starter would be to provide them with one card that has links to the 'non-English' forums here. There are many on those forums that are well-equipped to help a newbie who speaks their language.
  22. /me waves to everyone and blows a sigh of relief
