  1. Oops! Missed that, sorry. Thank you @LittleMe
  2. Pretty much as the title - I've just moved to a New Babbage rental and don't want to let the side down. Boots & corset from Eudora3D - check. Which suppliers would you recommend for good quality period skirts and trimmings?
  3. Four minutes to go here in Blighty, and I'm celebrating by feeding the cat
  4. Is there a way to carry a music stream around with you, Walkman-stylee? I've figured how to set the audio stream for my Linden home but WLT be able to have my own music while I go shopping travel to important business meetings...
  5. Just for my education.... is it technically possible for a designer to make an alpha hud specifically for a piece of clothing? Not to hide the whole thing in one click, but with selectable areas, like for bodies? I mean I get that's probably way too much work for each and every piece of clothing, just wondered if it was technically feasible?
  6. What's really starting to yank my chain is why stretch isn't automatically enabled for EVERYTHING in the edit menu. Why aren't ALL clothes resizeable FGS? Reams and reams of different versions for each body.... why?? All those gorgeous boots that just won't fit over jeans, or jackets that can't be worn, becuz bleed-thru. Just WHY???? Is it more work for the designer to enable it or something? Some technical reason? *bursts into tears as she walks out of Eudora 3D empty-handed AGAIN
  7. I'm having the exact same issues with Raven, I thought it was just down to my inexperience. I just *cannot* get her looking reasonably natural.
  8. I'm running out of email addresses for new accounts *looks at Ayashe
  9. Ooooh, there's some motivation right there to put some work into Akeruka. Problem is, I've got the Genus looking absolutely where I want it.... *sigh here we go again!
  10. Right! So that's why I can't use ExoX stuff on my Genus Free head!! Do other actual head manufacturers use the EvoX map too? Akeruka for eg?
  11. Just for my education - is EvoX the UV map itself? When they say 'EvoX enabled' is that what they mean? Mornin', btw. *waves
  12. Ya riiiight!! I bet you've forgotten more about SL than most of us will ever know
  13. Is there *anything* about SL you don't know, Ceka?! Honestly, you're a walking SL Wikipedia!
  14. That slow, sinking feeling you get when you realised you totally overshared and made a humungus horse's fundament of yourself *looks around for a suitably-sized rock to crawl under...
  15. It's gonna take til Black Friday just to tidy everything away, never mind try it on!
  16. Thank you so much. Just couldn't see the wood for the trees there *facepalm
  17. What's the easiest way of getting the textual content of an external web page into an LSL variable? Just a small, text-only webpage, no parameters required, no server-side PHP. For some reason my brain is bouncing off the docs and I'm just not getting it. TIA
  18. OK, that's an interesting approach. But as you say, a bit too easy to pirate.
  19. Thanks for responding So how do people do it then? I mean, I see lots of just heads for sale with different faces? Or are they just meshes cunningly designed to look ok on the default base avatar settings?
  20. I'm new to Second Life and am finding I'm actually not bad at creating good face shapes. I would like to sell these face shapes, customised for different heads. I'm a reasonably competent coder and LSL looks accessible. My immediate thought is to distribute face shape scripts which automatically update the required Appearance Editor slider values. However, I cannot find an API for the Appearance Editor, not in the standard API docs nor in the RLV. Maybe there isn't one. So, option two is to save out a shape object and distribute that. Two problems with this: First, if I create my shape on, say, a Genus head, the original creator remains Genus and the properties are locked. I could maybe get round this by creating my face, noting the slider numbers, manually applying them to a default avatar, then saving that out as the shape object. Which leads to the second problem: I only want to change the shape of the face, but the shape object contains dimensions for the whole body. I can't script something that reads the end-user's existing rest-of-body dimensions at runtime because.... there's no Appearance Editor API. But people do sell face shapes. How are they doing it? TIA
