I can appreciate and understand others having interest in the new body. Finally having had a chance to try it out, I still don't. It is great to hear others wanting to go back and forth between the two. I think that is a positive thing! Maitreya deserves continued success. If people like the new LaraX, if they like both or if they will be sticking with the original. It is all acceptable and great. I've never understood why some get so upset about a personal choice they have nothing to do with.

All anyone can do at this point is speculate how things are going to go. It is really early days for the LaraX so there is really no telling at the moment which way things will go. Of course a new body is going to be popular right at its release along with clothing and accessories to fit that body.

I've been following this thread off and on since its creation. I've not responded before this because I didn't quite know how to express my opinion about LaraX. I will begin by saying that I've not had the chance of taking a look at the new LaraX and I'm not certain I will look at it even when I get the chance to. Not because of anything negative. I feel quite the opposite. I think it was wonderful that LaraX came out, but that the original Maitreya Lara was still being supported, updated and encouraged from the creator. From what I've seen, I gather they always intended them to exist side by side. Choices are always a nice thing to have. I don't have any real interest in the LaraX body personally. I doubt I will. I like the original Maitreya Lara. I spent a long time getting my shape just so over the years besides the fact I just gave my main and all my alts makeovers including new head and skin. I'm not someone who does this often. That is just me. I'm not particularly thrilled some of the creators I've been a customer of for years have decided they will stop creating for the original Maitreya Lara. It seems like a really foolish decision, but that of course is just my opinion on the matter. I would never get rude or complain to a creator about my own view on this matter. It simply means I stop supporting those particular creators who stopped supporting some of their customer base. It happens. I would say it is all part of business. Nothing personal. Now I truly hope that LaraX takes off as big as the original Maitreya Lara, but I also hope that creators realize in future still creating for the original will also be lucrative for them. Completely up to them, but I can still hope. It has been interesting to read the differing views and outlooks here. It is also fun to see so many excited about the new Maitreya body. That is pretty much all I wish to say. Have a good evening all.

Delight: It's snowing finally! I love the colder weather, rain and especially snow! I've been having a difficult time finding holiday spirit this year, but this has helped get me in the mood to start decorating.

First Days of Snow

I've only heard of of the site here on the forums. Never actually cared enough to go take a look. Idle gossip from those with too much time on their hands has never been interesting to me.

My OCD. My twin sis and I decided to update our avis recently so we had fun doing that. The downside to anything I start is I have very bad OCD that can get fixated on a project. Now my OCD is fixated on updating all of my alts too. So yea...a bit annoyed with it at the moment and fighting it every step of the way. I'm losing that fight though since I have updated one of my alts already. I mean sure it is fun, but it is also a lot of work too. Sometimes stressful as well. Oh well. Looks like everyone is getting makeovers I guess. 🙄😑

It just takes time. It took us several months to agree on a new head we both liked. So we search until we find what both of us likes. Our styles are different at times. Different colors. She loves purple and I pretty much love anything but purple. At times when we want to be the same especially with more fantasy oriented photos, we compromise. It really isn't that difficult. 🤷‍♀️

My head is pounding after reading this entire thread. First I thought the OP was discussing how not enough creators make things for GenX. Now I really have no idea what the point was. I'm not going to claim to know. Mainly I just wanted to point out that the sl community are fortunate because we have creators making different mesh bodies, heads, skin, eyes, and etc. It gives up options to create a look for our avi we love. Diversity and all that. I've purchased a lot of mesh bodies and heads in my time in sl, and Maitreya is still the one I use. Others simply aren't the look I'm going for. Constructive criticism on a product with problemed areas, I completely understand. Calling a body cheap looking because it may not of been as expensive as another is just strange. Expensive doesn't always mean better. It just means one has spent more for that item. The entire point in creating our avi is to do it to our own specifications. If we are happy with our own avi, that is all that matters at the end of the day. We always have the choice to choose whether we support and use a product or not. Now time for me to go have my morning cup of tea.
