What does "behind closed doors" mean?

Adult activity on Moderate land must be conducted "behind closed doors," meaning that you must make every reasonable effort to ensure that the parcel is private. This means:

Allow only a group or specific individuals access to the parcel. If it is group-access only, the group must not be freely open to join.

Hide avatars (turn off avatar visibility) for the parcel.

Enclose the area behind walls or other visual barriers.

Thank you. 75% of groups on M rated land that has adult furniture in it is able to be AR'd then. lol

adult furniture is allowed on M land as long as 3 conditions are met

1: adult furniture must be inside behind closed doors

2: the land is restricted to an invite onlygroup

3: Parcel must be set so that people cannot see in from outside

Theresa this has been discussed a thousand times before, i’m really not sure why you are pretending ignorance on this matter.

I've never heard of #2. Can you link to where it says that?

This is still an issue, @Linden Lab

Found a store today with 17 pages of various items, all with identical keywords. Eyes and shapes and tattoos.

17 pages. That's several days of work to flag all of those listings.

What would be helpful is that if something is flagged LL AND the seller is notified with a note to fix it. If it gets flagged again their store is disabled until they do fix it. :) Automation is the way to get someone's attention. Take LL out of the equation.

LL knows because they make it quite clear if i have adult rated furniture in the yard of my Belli house. I can be ARed and punished.

People worry way too much about stuff. A friend of a friend of a friend has had adult furniture in their beli yard the entire 5 years it's been open.  They don't use the adult animations outside but they do use the sits and  cuddles.

  5. In order for you to register an account with Second Life you have to be at least 16 years old. If I make an avatar that looks 16 Is that considered a child avatar or an adult avatar? I would say that if an avatar came in looking 16 most people would considered them a child avatar,  yet why would you be banned from certain activities since that is the RL age you have to be to have an account.

My question is, It's been a while since i played Second Life I am researching renting billboards spaces for a future plot of land to earn some extra money and I am just wondering what is the average rate going for that people willing to pay for these days?

I agree with @Stephanie Misfit How would you drive traffic to your land for people to see the advertising billboards?

I need to move on....stuffs to do...and I've said all I can say.

If it can't be comprehended (by many anyway) that it's good to overcome challenges in any world, to honor ourselves when we manage to do so, I don't know what else I can say....

Just the last couple of pages the way you explain "winning" and mansplaining in your heart menders group, and this post specifically, I highly suspect that you have had ANY real training in psychology.

The way you gaslight, can't see others points of view, only your own and the way you throw a tantrum when you don't get your way tells volumes that you are just pulling stuff out of your butt.

I would warn anyone to stay far away because you do WAY more harm than good.

If you managed to cope with the adverse condition you developed resilience!

Wrong. If someone gets shot in the head *adverse condition* and recovers they learned survival not resilience.

Me....go off-topic?  Never!  I'm just adding greater detail and depth...lol.

Well you have fun Luna. I'm no longer engaging in your attention seeking behavior. I should have bowed out when love did. Have fun with your thread.

I set the topic -- please read my opening paragraph.  People need to stick to the topic. The topic is, how do we utilize SL to cope with stresses (building resiliency in the process). Do you think Kipling was wanting people to know how to be griefers and stalkers with his poem? lol

You can post a topic and hope it stays on topic.  A normal thread will have twists and curves otherwise every thread would be boring.

You very often go on a tangent and go off topic on a thread. Shall we point that out when you do it?

A person who chooses to bother others (griefing or stalking), manifesting discord and destruction in the world as opposed to behaving in a constructive manner, is unhealthy. From what I've read about their psychological make up they lack purpose due to believing they can't fulfill positive life goals. Often they've felt thwarted in some way and don't know how to deal with that pain, so they act out in a destructive manner, often punishing people they think are responsible for their pain (even symbolically, as often the person in the present they punish is a stand-in for someone who hurt them in the past).

OR they are just having fun in a game they don't take seriously.

But in any case, again, I want to know the ways people utilize SL in healthy ways (so this doesn't include being an addict, a griefer, or a troll).  What next, are we going to validate serial killers and stalkers here?  lol

You again, are discrediting people's responses and attempting to make people post what you want and the way you want. That's not how forums work.

A griefer does not have healthy self-esteem though, so no resiliency would be built.  You might read up on positive vs negative coping mechanisms. Negative ones don't further self-growth -- they do the opposite.

I would disagree with you. A griefer in SL usually does it for fun and games. It's only negative to the one being griefed if they see it that way.  YOU might read up on that.

but others don't seem to understand that simply enjoying activities in SL is a great stress reliever,

Did you read any of our answers or just re-read your posts? That's ALL we've been saying in the entire thread!

Found a good summary of how to increase resilience...and I can think of various activities in SL I've participated in that encompass the points:

    Tips to improve your resilience
    • Get connected. Building strong, healthy relationships with loved ones and friends can give you needed support and help guide you in good and bad times. ...
    • Make every day have meaning. ...
    • Learn from the past. ...
    • Stay hopeful. ...
    • Take care of yourself. ...
    • Take action.

I'm not sure you know what the definition of resilience is.

    re·sil·ience

    /rəˈzilēəns/

    noun

    1.

the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.

"the remarkable resilience of so many institutions"

    2.

the ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape; elasticity.

"nylon is excellent in wearability and resilience"

Yeah I spend time in SL...am at Fantasy Fairre!  Unlike you, Love, who appears to spend all their time on the forum, yet pretends to be an expert about SL.  Hmmmm...

We are resorting to personal attacks now? Great.

I've been in SL all day since 6am yet I'm on the forum as well.  I guess some of us can multi task.

I agree with the Linden that came to the forum once (well 2 of them did actually)...and said the forum is negative.

Oh yeah. I missed it. Who was it? I mean if they said it on the forum it's ok to say right? Since you brought it up.

IWhat makes you feel better about being in SL?

Well now we have a direct question. Nothing because everything I do in SL makes me feel better. Even what you might call stressful I just laugh off and click the X and go watch Forensic Files.
