Now I can't wait for the stilt homes, because maybe that makes more people leave their houseboats. 😁

From my observation today, I see that Log Homes and Traditionals come up fairly frequently and every now and then a Victorian and Camper. Houseboats never or gone in seconds.

Sorry I’m hanging onto my houseboat, it took me too long to get!  Won’t give it up now for the stilt houses 🤗

Good looking mesh, although less flexible when it comes to sliders than some other heads. Tons of skins, especially for classic and babyface. And millions of makeup, probably even more than for catwa now, for some reason. And that's probably all good I can say about it.

Animations are awful, like "turn them off completely" awful, probably even worse than on Catwa's v1 Bento release (those were quite bad, but got completely redone in 2.x update). There's a reason why most people with genus heads that you will see in world have completely static faces - it's because of this. 3rd part animations can help to mitigate it a bit, there's a face AO (or two now?) from Vista and some more, but can't say I was all impressed by any of them. Besides when it's a premium priced head, then you shouldn't need to buy 3rd party AOs to make it work. I personally would rate animations for mesh heads in that order: Lelutka>Catwa>LAQ>no animations>Genus. I didn't bothered to test Logo or GA.EG bento heads, since I don't like how they look at all, so can't say much about theirs. Eyes are very bad too, which was already mentioned.

HUD is clunky and most unintuitive one I've seen in a while, not just when it comes to mesh heads, but for all HUDs. You can still get used to it, it works, but doesn't makes it any better.

My personal opinion on them: if you love the way they look and either fine with having a static face or mostly intend to use it to take pictures (for blogs, flickr etc), then go for it. But if you are mostly after "everyday usage", then I would look for something else, at least until/if they update them. I personally decided against getting it even for half price during blackfriday sales, when I gave their demos another go.

Yes! I think I will look at Lelutka instead of Genus now 👍

  3. I have been an avid Catwa fan since I started SL 3 years ago, I like my avatars look, but am itching for a change. I am interested in the Genus Heads.  I would love some advice/feedback on the Pros & Cons of this Head and is the $5500 worth switching.
    thank you ☺️ 🤗

I don't know if this style is feasible considering how regions are laid out but I'd dearly love to live in one. I remember traveling from San Diego to Santa Barbara and seeing these terraced down the mountain sides looking out at the Pacific.

    Love this idea 😍

Finally got around to visiting. The pictures actually don't do it justice, it's very well done and captures the festive spirit so well. Fantastic job @TessaPaige Jupiter!

As well as introducing her to her first Reindeer (to her first animal that isn't a cat, actually)...

And taking Riley on her first merry-go-round ride! (I love this pic, more for getting photo-bombed by Dancer! That expression says it all...)

A cute and fun little destination that was well worth the visit. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas from Riley and I. 🎄❤️😊

EDIT: And a huge thanks too to @Christhiana for the wonderful gift! That's so very thoughtful of you (and OMG a necessity!!) 😍 ❤️🤯

And here in Outback Australia. *waves to geographical neighbour*

The way I see it, those who wanted to celebrate Halloween were free to celebrate Halloween provided they stayed within parcel boundaries and of course ToS. Why should Christmas or any other seasonal festivity be different? Personally I don't associate snow with Christmas as it happens to be summer that time of year here (unless Santa is wearing board shorts) but I don't bemoan those that do associate or enjoy it. If you want to decorate with snow, do it. I'll just derender if you happen to live near me. The same as I do anything I find offensive, triggering, or unsightly according to my personal tastes. And none have to be the wiser. While there are those who say we shouldn't have to, the fact is we can. Surely that's easier and quicker and more proactive on our part than initiating an AR, or confrontation with our neighbours if it can at all be avoided.

As much as I love the look of snow (as I don't have to live with it, ever) I don't expect (or want) LL to go changing the terrain to suit. It would be visually nice, yes, but far too much work for far too little gain beyond our enjoyment which could just as easily be gained with no effort on LL's part by decorating a mainland parcel that doesn't share the same restrictions as Bellisseria.

Say snow was allowed, where does it end? What about those who expect monsoon rains? Or spring showers? Or falling leaves and all orange/bare trees? Or how about dust storms and dry cracked earth as that's MY reality and a good percentage of my country for Christmas?

Keep Bellisseria the way it is and utilize mainland for anything else. Simple.

...non reason... ask Australians.. the Middle East, no snow at all
or middle/south west europe...  mostly rain, wind, grey, wet, stormy....again no snow at all.

Exactly lol we manage to live without snow in New Zealand for Christmas! 😂

    That's my fault

The yellow thingies are parcel markers we lay out when we set up and build the region.    They're both a visual guide for the builders and decorators and (because of the scripts they contain) an essential tool in building the systems whereby the websites, the land store, the house controllers, the trailers, the main rezzer and the remote servers that deliver content packs and notecards all talk to each other.

Most of the time they're almost invisible.   However, when I'm making sure the individual parcels and house controllers are all responding and have correctly registered themselves, the parcel markers briefly become highly visible for up to 30 seconds or a minute, before hiding themselves again after successfully updating the details of the parcels whose boundaries they mark, so that if any don't successfully complete the process I can see at a glance which parcels are affected.

So if you see parcel markers behaving like that, it means I'm testing communications systems, or doing something that makes communications systems run self-diagnostic routines to check nothing's broken after something that's happened (a script update or something).

Love it when you talk all technical @Quartz Mole 😏😍
