So what changed in the Terms of Service?
Coffee Pancake replied to Lucia Nightfire's topic in General Discussion Forum
Is not sound advice and not a risk anyone here is prepared to take. Not to mention that in your example the punishment is a fine, here the punishment is summary execution of you and everyone else in the car. -
So what changed in the Terms of Service?

The difficulty is that changing to a none child avatar before going to an adult region requires the person to KNOW they are going to one before they go. The Linden viewer does not show ratings on the map, neither does the SLURL web map. It's really easy to go direct from the market place "view inworld" to an adult location - there are lots of stores on adult land that don't sell explicitly adult content. So, that option in the viewer becomes a toggle that gets flipped on and off as needed even for owners of child avatars. An option that needs to be constantly changed is an option that leads to mistakes. It is now against the ToS to arrive at an adult location as a child avatar. Adult verified avatars are also automatically teleported to Adult info hubs under certain conditions, so it's entirely possible that child avatars will inadvertently end up on adult land. Visible and report-able to all, long before they can even see or interact with SL - This was partially why the original rules did not explicitly ban child avatars from A land. There are lots of gotchas and edge cases. -

Setting the limit in teleport preferences is not seen as a suitable safety alone. There are times when an the owner of an account that is typically a child will need to enter an adult region ( not least of all shopping). This means that setting will end up toggled back and forth as need dictates. Constant setting and resetting that option is how accidents happen. -

This breaks a considerable amount of clothing, not least of all swim suits. -

Toddler avatars (and some bigs kids) use RLVa based control attachments, so could be force teleported into adult regions. We will be looking at adding some protections for this, but it could be some time before it's live in everyone's TPV of choice. -

I would presume this doesn't only apply to male genitalia or additional parts. -

Actually .. this has just been brought to my attention, Maitreya (and other adult bodies) have geometry based sexual characteristics. Making a child avatar with that body isn't possible as the body itself violates the rules. Does this mean that anyone wearing Maitreya could not be considered an child avatar and is therefore .. safe ? -

You are not allowed to make a child avatar with Maitreya as there is no possibility for a modesty layer that can't be removed. -

This interpretation breaks BOM entirely for all child avatars. There could be no BOM clothing at all. -

All existing child avatars are in violation. Every single one of them. BOM is not sufficient. They ALL will have content that will open them up to abuse reports if used by mistake (as part of an existing outfit) or they do not see or understand the new rules. Only a tiny fraction of this content will get updates. -

This is not sufficient. Please define where the line is. One reasonable person is another's raving lunatic. The punishment for not knowing where governance draw the line is an all accounts perma ban. This is worse than secret ratings for marketplace words. If someone gets that wrong they don't lose everything. Are babyfurs and furry cubs child avatars ? They are not "children". Are anime avatars automatically children? Are anime avatars in sailor fuku automatically children? How does this affect the ABDL community? (who are, by definition, adults) -

When the punishment for them getting it wrong is an all accounts perma ban. I’m glad to see the appeal process remains unchanged. -

This bans child avatars. It’s just region owners acting out of fear rather than LL. -

I can see that needing to be addressed, it's not uncommon to hold a USD balance for paying Teir or membership fees. if this is held by an external company then does that incur fees when passed from thunes to Linden Lab. If I leave US$ on my account, that should be held by @Linden Lab not a 3rd party. -

If that's how little Tilia went for ... we have about 2 years to come up with an alternative for the SL economy -

Gatekeeping who can participate in the SL economy is probably the dumbest idea I've heard on these forums, and I was here for covid.
