@Talligurl Newbie question: What actually are "sims"? Are they just areas of the map / continents or are they completely separate servers (or whatever the right term is). Could you actually get to them by walking if you were patient enough, or is it only possible to teleport? Also interested in making friends (preferably f) and not interested in voice chat. I like adult things *some* of the time but just like in RL it gets boring eventually so would like to broaden my horizons and spend some time away from men. LOVING your screenshots btw @Violetress !!

Is the maximum password length officially 16 characters? This forum topic is the only reference I can find about it. I thought I had a longer password from when i set up the account but my SL viewer is only letting me enter the first 16. I think what must have happened when i set up the account is that I copied the new password from my password manager software and pasted it into the password box, which limited it to 16. 16 characters is quite short by modern standards. There should be no reason to limit passwords to that length if SL are storing them securely. Most of my passwords for websites and things are over 25 characters each. ~Z

I've been a member only for about two weeks and have found a small number of friends by chatting in groups and going to a couple of group events. Regarding: Some of the time, yes. Having found a few friends, much like might happen in real life I've since been invited back to their homes. Which is cool because I only have a tiny rented Skybox. Actually, being new in SL reminds me a lot of when I first moved to London in RL and didn't know many people (and rented a tiny studio flat)

@angeoco @ChinRey Oh wow I had no Idea. I've only ever bought things in the MP so far (I'm only like 2 weeks old). I'll go and explore the IW stores then!

Are they generally not available on the Marketplace website? Why would they not sell everything there too? This has had me very confused!

Hi there - did you persevere with Nauha? I love her shape and animation but so far I have not had much luck with applier layers. I only use mesh clothing with her and I have found a lot of outfits that fit well. Mesh is fine. But I have not had much luck with texture-based clothing for Nauha Because... when I wear the body I have to remove both the tattoo and clothing layers because otherwise they look semi-opaque white. Maybe I'm not understanding the Nauha HUD! The skin layers just don't seem to look right. Can anyone help? Thx

@angeoco She's nice isn't she? I like the shape - a bit more realistic and curvy than others I have found. Yes - I have had most luck with hiding the feet and attaching other ones.

Hiya Zoe here Having looked at lots of reviews I ended up getting the "Orange Nova Human mesh - Nauha" avatar / body. I'm really happy with it and want to stick with it. It is my understanding that this is a 'mesh' avatar, which is the newer type, and that clothes should automatically fit to it (to an extent, although body parts might need to be adjusted to stop them showing through - am I correct here?) However I have found that with some clothing I have bought - when I click "wear" it replaces my WHOLE body with one that seems to be bundled with the clothing. Other items have just worked fine. Yesterday I tried on some shoes and it replaced the rest of my body and outfit. The shoes when unpacked were a single item, not a big list of sub-items. - What is going on here? - How can I tell which clothes will do this? - Can I avoid the problem? e.g. By doing something other than "wear", like "attach to..."? Maybe related: Some items such as dresses have maybe 3 sub-options one of which is usually "Maitreya". Are these different sizes or styles? Or are they intended for specific body designs? If so then I thought that the mesh system made this unnecessary. Confused about this. How can I tell if something is designed to work with my 'Nauha' body? Just trial and error? Thanks, sorry for sort of 2 questions in one but it's sort of the same problem (confused about clothes!) Zxx
