  1. I haven't tested this, but it would seem to me if the land tab options has allow group to build set, then that would allow any group member to build.  As you want to control rezzing by group role, I would turn off the group ability to build at the land level, and just rely on the group roles to control who can rez/build.   I think the message shown in your image above that says "Members in this role with this Ability can create objects on a group-owned parcel, even if it's turned off in About Land -> Options" supports turning it off at the group level and relying on group role abilities instead.

I think you will need to have the land deeded to the group (if it isn't already).

  2. To follow up on the group bonus for land that Persephone mentioned above, it really is worth considering at the amounts of land you are considering.  If you create a group and have tier donated to it, you get a 10% bonus in the amount of land you can own without an increase in tier level.   For example, if you donated 17,408 sqm to your land group (1/4 region + 1024 free tier), you would be able to own an additional 1728 sqm* of land and still pay at the 1/4 region tier level.

You could create a group with your premium account as the owner and a basic account alt as a member - a minimum of 2 members are needed to keep a group alive, but they don't all need to be premium accounts.

It's been a long day - hopefully I've got all the calculations correct.

    * Even though 10% of 17,408 is 1740, the smallest increment of land is 16 sqm, so I think 1728 is the largest amount of full 16 sqm's you could get out of 1740.

lol, probably not, but not sure what SMB stands for, just see it mentioned as the base body for a lot of apparel in the store

If the store that you were in was a store for child/teen clothing, it probably refers to the SMB mesh body for kids/tweens.  I don't know where the SMB is available at (or if it's still available) but if you ask in one of the store groups that sell SMB clothes perhaps someone in the group will know.

  4. Once you purchase a mainland parcel, the only on-going monthly charge is the tier fee.

It's automatically charged each month against your payment method, so your payment won't be late unless you removed your payment method or there was some type of issue with your payment method.

There aren't any zoning restrictions on mainland - you can do what you please with the land (as long as you stay within the TOS, of course).

If you have an unused LH, the free 1024 wouldn't necessarily reduce your monthly tier at the 1/4 or 1/2 region levels, but it would let you add an additional 1024 sqm to your holdings without moving you up to the next tier level.  For example, you could own 17,408 sqm meters for the tier cost of 1/4 region.

One thing, I couldn't find avatar health under avatar, so I couldn't check my complexity. Is there another place I can look? I'm using the regular second life viewer.

Go to the "Advanced" menu, then Performance Tools -> Show Avatar Complexity Information.

(If you don't see the "Advanced" menu, it can be turned on through Preferences -> Advanced -> Show Advanced Menu)

... but it ended up not fitting correctly.

Just out of curiosity, which mesh body do you wear? and in what way did it not end up fitting correctly?  Sometimes you need to use the mesh body alpha cuts (or wear alphas if your body doesn't have alpha cut functionality).

  7. I've gotten more familiar with the idea of experiences, so I am likely to accept it, if it is from a store or venue that I have some familiarity with, or at a location where I feel comfortable with what I know about the owner.

A sign indicating that an experience is suggested or needed for auto TP's, or a sign stating click to receive a NC about the experience is helpful - I do like to have some information about why accepting the experience is a good idea.

  8. What surprises me is how quick people are to jump to the worst conclusion, both for what the consequences of the request might be, and also on the intent of the request.  It's good to look at situations in their own context, and perhaps allow some different or new perspectives to take shape.

The context for the situation in the OP request had nothing to do with changing posts to retract things that had been said, or making an error, or regret about what they posted, or being too hasty.

Even if a thread has gone multi-pages and people don't want to read through all of the pages, I've found that at least reading the OP and perhaps the first page of responses can really be helpful as to what the post initially started out to be about, before everyone jumps in with the worst conclusions, sometimes turning the thread into an issue that was not the original problem to begin with.

I look at this page https://community.secondlife.com/online/?filter=filter_loggedin and see that really there isn't that many following this thread anyway as most are reading something in other parts of the forum which must be more exciting and then begs the question of why the Lab and various critics posting in the thread, have an issue with some of us entertaining ourselves with a more political or other controversial sort of topic. For those of us who are not builders, creators or developers, this is our entertainment and if they would stop shutting threads down before we have had our say, they wouldn't get restarted elsewhere :)

Unless you have that page of who's online up all the time, and are checking it every few minutes, I don't think that gives an accurate indication of how many people have been reading a particular thread (or threads in a particular section of the forum).  I tend to read through most of the threads from most of the forum sections via the 'unread content' function.

I had what I assume was my signup bonus for Premium Plus hit my account sometime last night. It was only 2000L. I was under the impression that it was supposed to be 3000L. Was there some prorated amount due to the fact that I upgraded from regular Premium?

I had wondered the same thing, if there was some type of proration of the bonus amount occurring.

Contact Live Chat and let them know.  When I did that earlier today they acknowledged some of the bonus amounts were incorrect and they added the additional amount to my account right away, during the Live Chat conversation.

  11. I agree with @Aethelwine that for certain types of posts - such as the one she referenced as an example - it would be beneficial to be able to add on to an existing post past the 24-hour limit for editing.  For posts that are an informational list of entries I can see the benefit of having all the items in the same post as opposed to needing to create a new post further down in the thread with additional entries when those entries would be best grouped with entries in an earlier post.

For those Forumites who feel obliged to quote someone's post when responding to it in case of later edits, you can continue to do so - just like you currently are doing.

and after purging the thing from the trash, the links seem to get deleted.

I suppose that's the "if you delete this item, it's links will permanently stop working" bit.  I do think it's best for the system to delete the links when the item gets deleted rather than leave broken links in the inventory.

I was pretty sure that I saw warnings when trying to delete something that had links.  I was going to experiment when I got in-world, but then I got distracted and forgot, so I'm glad you posted the warning messages.

in many TPVs (I dunno if it's in the main viewer that I can't really use) there's a "replace all links" function: right click on a thing that's in a lot of outfits, and then 'replace all links' and you cna select another object to get used in its place. useful for updating all your outfits with a new version of a thing.

The "replace links" function is available in the LL viewer.

Also not blacklisted, not in spam.
First thought it might been the gmail accounts, but it's the same at hotmail, outlook and live accounts.
I gave up after a few changes.

I don't normally get emails about the houses, but I do get emails about premium sign ups, and I did get an email after upgrading to premium plus though it was a couple of days after the upgrade.

i know selling lindens is illegal, why would i wanna risk asking around if anyone wants some lindens? like i just don't understand it, it doesn't make sense

You sell them through the Lindex on your account dashboard - that is the only legal way to sell them.

  16. Are you sure the others aren't selling their linden $'s first?  The only way one can get a USD balance on their account is by selling linden $'s.  They may just do it automatically and didn't think about mentioning it when talking about the cashing out part.

"If you do not wish to apply your Linden Dollar sales proceeds to your fees, you may withdraw this portion of your account credit through a real-world credit process. (See Process Credit)

This is referring to the proceeds from your Linden Dollar sales - so you need to sell your Linden Dollars first.

  17. You would need to sell your linden $'s every time you want to do a process credit to send your USD balance to your paypal account.

If your USD balance is $0.00 (because you haven't sold any linden $'s) then it's true that there is not enough funds.

  18. You can't cash out (process credit) unless you first sell your linden dollars (that's what turns them into USD, which is what you need for doing a process credit).  There are fees involved with both steps of the process, so I would suggest not doing it unless you have reason other than just wanting to test the process.

You might want to take a look at the Account Balance knowledge base article which covers what is required and has some links to related articles:
