  1. If you're trying to buy the lindens via the marketplace,  I'd suggest trying a different browser or at least clear your browser cache.  There was some scheduled billing system maintenance yesterday between 11 am - noon PDT - if your first attempt was during that time, perhaps that affected your transaction attempt and what the browser's cache kept.

I thought at first glance the Virtual Archaeology one was about unearthing ancient prims! actually an archaeological /anthropological study of SL would be rather cool, since our "civilisation" has now existed for almost 2 decades. That's like Bronze Age in digital terms.

I joined SL in 2014, so there was a lot of history already by then.  That this was a world that had years of history - just like a RL place - was one of the things that fascinated me.  I came across old maps, I read a lot of the geography pages in the Wiki (and related links from those pages), I read old threads in the forum archives, I traveled around on mainland trying to find things and places that I read about - it was the virtual equivalent of things I like to do when I travel to new RL places, and it was something that really gave me a sense of place when inworld.

Thank you! I will do just that.

I was just thinking that perhaps an abuse report might get looked at quicker than a support case.  If you've already done a support case, you could reference the support case number in the abuse report.   I would probably list Govenor Linden as the one you're filing the report against (that's like a default when you don't know the specific person  - because right now you just have a lot of suspicions about accounts).  Sorry I didn't think about that in my first response, but I'm getting a little on the sleepy side and not thinking very quickly.

Hi, I run a store that resells old gacha items. Within the past 2 weeks I have observed random accounts with no prior purchase history spending tons of money on items in my store and leaving bad reviews in broken english. Since their profile descriptions are usually written in fluent english, the accounts are sometimes >5 years old, and they have all been following this same pattern, I have come to the conclusion that the accounts are being stolen. Maybe I am being paranoid, but I would really rather be safe than sorry given that some of these accounts are spending thousands of L$. What is the best action that I can take given the situation?

EDIT: In case this is not taken seriously, one of the people was able to get their account back and contacted me about her missing money, amounting to about L$100,000 (yes, that much, no extra zeros.) I gave it all back to her, and told her I would try to figure out what was going on.

Hopefully the lady who was able to get her account back filed a compromised account support ticket.

I would suggest that you file a support case explaining your concerns and whatever information you have about the suspicious transactions/account.

I would also suspect that the accounts were probably victims of phishing.  This last week or so there have been messages in a lot of groups with a link for claiming a gift card, most likely with the intent of stealing account credentials.

  5. Yes, it's the ones that go past normal argument/debate of each position, and go into mud-slinging and other toxicity that I am glad finally are closed.  Though it seems to me, a lot of times it is the politically motivated or human rights related ones that tend to veer off past the point of return.

For the most part, I've become much better about being able to skip over - or at least quickly skim through - posts that I don't want to engage in or become otherwise involved with.

My assumptions to a large degree are based on the reactions to a mod closed thread. When I see a large number of Like and Thank responses to the post notifying of a thread closure, I am of the opinion that some those responses are a thank you for an actual AR/Report filed and at the very least an agreement in principle. So though I do somewhat assume, it is based on reasonable circumstantial evidence.

I have never reported a post just because I don't agree with a poster's point of view.   I think in all my time here I have only reported a handful of posts, and those have been when it is clear that the first post (and usually the only post) in the thread is clearly a spam post.

I have 'thanked' closures of threads though, when a thread has become basically just an argument between opposing points of views, especially when it was not a SL related topic to begin with.   Often those are ones that have reached a point where I no longer want to read them when they appear in my unread list, so the 'thanks' is just me being glad that the thread is done so I don't have to keep skipping over it.

Patch did say the idea of Premium Plus concierge is for friends to live together, so wouldn't facilitating an abandon that happens to be next door be consider part of that perk? The way Concierge requests are handled now, most people have no idea what regions are available that would be a candidate to request tickets for. It would be helpful if a list was published and updated frequently. I thought PPlus was meant to reduce the random nature of Linden Homes and give residents the illusion of 'choose' your linden home.

There are a lot of residents who follow what's happening with new regions very closely and people who often have explored regions new regions once they are accessible but not released yet.  Once the parcel names in a region are appearing as "Linden Home" they are eligible to be requested.

If you follow some of the threads here, especially the SSP thread, you'll often see posts about new regions being sighted on the map.  I've also seen posts where someone has scoped out new regions and has posted about finding a perfect home and waiting for that particular region to be released, so that they can hope to get the parcel that they like there once the region is released.  This is the situation I think that is behind this PP+ perk of being able to choose your home.

I think the idea about friends living together was not so much about being able to get a recent abandon close to a friend's existing home, but a group of friends finding an unreleased region that they like and all requesting a home there.

  8. If you are currently a premium member, you can upgrade to premium plus without losing any home or land that you currently have.   For premium members upgrading now, the premium plus cost is pro-rated based on how much of your premium membership term is left.  At the next renewal of your membership, it would be done at the premium plus level at $249 USD. (The pro-rated price is calculated during the upgrade processing, and you will have a chance to back-out after seeing the pro-rated cost, if you change your mind and decide not to upgrade after all).

It's not possible, on the same account, to have both a premium membership and a premium plus membership as separate memberships.  The premium plus contains the benefits from premium, plus some increased amounts for some of the benefits (increased stipend, more groups, more tier included, etc).

why does there need to be moderate linden homes if thats the case

Where were you when they developed the first version of the Linden Homes, asking for adult homes back then?  If they had created adult Linden Homes originally, then they'd have to do that now, as Bellisseria Linden Homes are a replacement for the original Linden Homes (which will be going away at some point in the future).

There is no shortage of adult furniture, adult activity groups or people wearing risque or very little clothing (or no clothing) in Bellisseria.  To think that Bellisseria is just filled with 'prudes' because it's rated moderate is not correct. (I remember not long after Bellisseria opened that one of the forum posters was talking about creating a Bellisseria BDSM group).

Patch has said multiple times since the introduction of the new Linden Homes, that they are basically 'starter' homes and LL knows that they won't satisfy every resident's desires and that there will be residents will not be happy with the restrictions and limitations of the Linden Homes - and that's fine because they can purchase mainland or rent from a private estate that fits their needs better. It seems to me that only being rated moderate is one of those restrictions/limitations.

Only premium members could access those places..

While only premium members can obtain a Linden Home, you do not have to be a premium member to visit any of the Linden home regions.

You can't open a business in a linden home  or anything like one can you?

No commercial activity (not even tip jars) is allowed in Linden homes.

  11. If you would rather have a 1024 sqm plot on mainland, rather than have one of the Linden Homes, you can look for and purchase a 1024 sqm parcel on mainland, and after the initial land purchase price, there would not be a maintenance/monthly tier fee (as long as you don't exceed owning more land than 1024 sqm and as long as you do not also own a Linden home).

You can look in the Parcels for Sale: Mainland - Second Life Community topic here in the land forum, to see information/link to some of the mainland parcels that are for sale.

Another way to find parcels for sale is by using the map - check the box for showing parcels for sale, and they will show up on the map as yellow parcels.  If you're not sure how to find one of the mainland continents on the map, you can always TP to one of the parcels for sale form the "Parcels for Sale: Mainland" thread, and then your map will be positioned over part of one of the mainland continents and you can move it around looking for parcels marked as being for sale.

Be sure to look at a number of parcels and compare location, terrain, and price.  There can be a lot of variety in parcel prices, even for the same size parcel, because of its location (along a roadway or waterway) or just because of what the resident owning it decides to charge.

    much obliged ladies

it was the stilt ones in particular

The stilt homes are very popular, and there is a selection option for stilts on water and a selection option for stilts on land.  The best advice is still to be persisent about checking the home page, looking for one or both of the selection options.  If there are more new stilts released as various LH areas get further built out, there would not be an official announcement (as the theme has already been released) but once ready, the new stilt releases would automatically just go into the available queue and be available through the home page.

There are a few threads here in the Linden Homes section of the forum where people do keep a lookout on new LH regions being added and speculate / discuss what types of homes they think will be in those regions, and when they think the regions look like they'll be ready to be released.

  13. I don't know if there will be future additional releases of traditional homes or not.  The traditional homes were the first theme to be released of the new Linden homes.  If you want a traditional home, you just need to be persistent in checking the homes page - people do abandon Traditional homes, and if you happen to check the homes page at the right time, it's still possible to get a traditional.

There is an entire section of the Forums dedicated to the new Linden Homes   -   Linden Homes - Second Life Community   and one thread you might want to look at there (but start at the last page or so, as it's a thread that has been around for a long time) is

When did you last see a Bellisserian home available? Starting afresh. - Linden Homes - Second Life Community

There are people who post information there about homes that they will be abandoning.

  14. Are you talking about the situation where you stand from some type of sitting animation and your avatar appears to run in place for a few seconds?  Or are you referring to a situation where the avatar continues to run until you relog?  Have you tried other viewers to see if the problem happens across viewers or if it just happens with the BD viewer.

It looks like, from the BD web site, that they have a Discord channel where you could look to see if other users are experiencing this and/or report this as an issue with BD.

I have payment info entered but cant buy lindens

What happens when you try to purchase them?  Do you get any type of message?

If you're trying to purchase them from the Buy L$ page on your web dashboard, are you choosing Instant Buy or Best Rate Buy?

If you're not trying to purchase them from your web dashboard, are you trying to buy them through the viewer? or when processing a marketplace order?

  16. 1.  I would say yes and no - I think there are several factors involved - how full the region is,  how full your parcels are, and how well optimized all that content is that is in your draw distance.  Other factors that might also impact whether you feel the region is laggy or not could be your viewer graphical settings and/or your connection / ping time to the region (and how stable that connection is).

    2. If parcels are in the same region, with the same owner (either individual or same group) they can share LI between them.

  17. It would be helpful if you turned on the parcel boundaries and took a picture that included the boundary lines.  If you're using the Firestorm viewer, there is an option somewhere in the preferences where you can turn on highlighting the parcel boundaries all the way up to maximum height.  This can be helpful for checking if anything crosses the boundary, because you'll be able to visually see it "poke" though the parcel boundary highlighting.

If you're certain that nothing you have linked to the root prim you mentioned is over the boundary, yet she still returns your items, I would suggest filing a support ticket so that you can have it looked at by a Linden Support person.  There's not much else anyone here in the forums will be able to suggest or explain other than what has already been said here.

Edit to add:  I just noticed that it sounds like you found the issue and have fixed it. My advice (along with LittleMe's about displaying the bounding boxes) still stands though for others who may have issues and read this in the future, or if you should have issues again in the future (though I hope you won't).
