  1. I've noticed the palm trees. Makes me think more of Florida than Egypt. Unless they're "date palms", I suppose.
  2. Hard to find "normal, day-to-day" buffets the last few years since Piccadilly and Luby's left or closed (pre-pandemic even).
  3. That's what I thought until I saw Scylla's picture of protesters INSIDE the casino. Protesters inside a "business" would definitely dissuade normal business activities. Like "griefers".
  4. At least one "dealer" needs to be a Shark Avatar!!!
  5. The Grand Opening of the Social Casino should have some Lindens dressed up in fancy costumes, handing out free Tokens, and balloon animals for the .. kids.. never mind. Anyway, they missed an opportunity for a Grand Opening festival! That darned Victorian Bellissaria Hub took away all the eyeballs!
  6. Ironic, given who has been doing the protesting (and got the suspension). Yes, you got my point! Subtle lion is not-so-subtle.
  7. Hopefully they at least have "Disallow Scripted Agents" set for the Social Casino Private Region!
  8. I bet this "Social" RP Casino won't even let you "blow" or "spit" on your sugar-daddy's dice for good luck! (That's a thing, if you watch enough TV / movies, even ST:TNG I think)
  9. It's actually single-threaded, unless you consider each independent script a different "thread". I was going to say..but didn't want to argue the point. I've learned over the years, that script "clarity" is more about your own "code patterns" than anything else. In my case, I use my own "code patterns" that leverage certain conventions - which make it pretty easy to tell what I am doing. Because same convention is used in multiple scripts. Plus I add lots of comments. It peeves me when people say, "XXX language is self-documenting", then they use things like "while (~--x)". IMHO, you can't both "use compact, extra efficient coding styles" with C-style languages, and still expect most people to understand what you are trying to do, without verbose comments.
  10. Sorry, missed this earlier - did not realize they were protesting INSIDE. Yeah.
  11. Still never heard of it until your other recent post! (It's not like I don't read the Forums..)
  12. "But I want a Social Casino!" - Veruca Salt
  13. That specific instance does not surprise me. It does make you wonder how and why protesting is a violation of the ToS. Unless the protesters are rowdy, exhibiting "griefing" behavior. "Sad!" <= Open interpretation! ETA: Now I see from Scylla's picture (oops, missed it) that they were protesting INSIDE the casino. lulz.
  14. Interesting if the OP already got "caught" in the Spring Cleaning, but it would not explain why they can't create (etc.) a new store. ..Unless that's a bug related to the Spring Cleaning!
  15. That's seeing these places as casinos, despite there being no money at stake. That's the same as thinking of SL dance clubs as clubs where dancing happens, when that's just the excuse, the surface performance ritual for a social engagement. Agreed, plus: I know "for certain" that in RL, old folks who play "nickle slots" are probably also into it for the social aspects.
  16. I guess in terms of the "actual meaning" of the idiom: "someone who gives a lot of wrong answers is occasionally correct", yes. There would need to be someone to judge "is the answer correct?". The "normal" idiom is for a non-digital clock or watch with "hands", but this being the 21st Century I updated it with the VCR flashing "12:00". A "mixed-metaphor" version of the old idiom. A similar idiom is, "It's 5:00 somewhere" (used as an excuse for drinking) - which is patently false. It is NOT "exactly" 5:00 somewhere! (On the other hand, it is definitely "past 5:00" somewhere.) The idiom does work great for "gambling" though, for instance with dice: eventually you will get a specific combination if you roll the dice enough times.
  17. I was trying different old Paradise Blanket builds and saw a couple had sit targets shifted so far away from the "seats" that they were unusable for photographs, etc. What could cause this shifting of sit targets? Both of the "thrones" in the Castle build have the "sit" shifted over by a few feet. I rez my Paradise Blanket at ground level (so it shouldn't be an "alttitude" problem), and only noticed it for this particular build so far. I rez Paradise Blanket builds every few days, for pictures, a change of scenery, etc. so would notice if this was "normal". I don't see any "fix" since the Paradise Blankets are generally "no mod", and you can't set the "sit target". The only way I see to "override" the Sit Target for this particular build is: - Extract the Animation / Sit pose from the build - Add the animation to a poseball, put the poseball in the right spot for the "seat". - Sit on the poseball instead of the "seat". This was for "Thrones" in the Castle build, so of course it is worth my time. (Neko Lion=>Lion=>King of Beasts=>Throne=>Picture of Neko Lion on Throne) Note: The creators of the Paradise Blanket are long gone. (Other build rezzers support adding PB's to their own systems, but that is not relevant to the issue with sit targets.)
  18. It could also draw "sales" of the special "Social Casino" Private Regions! Users would run these much, much better than the example provided, with employees, shops, entertainment, etc. ETA: Sorry, missed this part of your resply:
  19. I heard this perhaps almost a month ago, but it did not sound so "official". ETA: Second Life is only mentioned in the context of "2003", once. No mention of it still existing and thriving. Instead: "Decentraland, the most well-funded, decentralized, crypto-based Metaverse product (effectively a wonky online world you can "walk" around), only had around 38 daily active users in its "$1.3 billion ecosystem." Decentraland would dispute this number, claiming that it had 8,000 daily active users — but that's still only a fraction of the number of people playing large online games like "Fortnite." Meta's much-heralded efforts similarly struggled: By October 2022, Mashable reported that Horizon Worlds had less than 200,000 monthly active users — dramatically short of the 500,000 target Meta had set for the end of 2022. The Wall Street Journal reported that only about 9% of user-created worlds were visited by more than 50 players, and The Verge said that it was so buggy that even Meta employees eschewed it. Despite the might of a then-trillion-dollar company, Meta could not convince people to use the product it had staked its future on."
  20. I may be a broken clock, even an old VCR flashing "12:00" is right twice a day!
  21. Speaking of "tells", do they have "Poker"? Blackjack? (Card games with betting are the most usual context of the word "tell" in gambling, I'm sure you know that.) I only saw machines in posts so far, and did not go yet. (Plus saw that someone said they should have Roulette, but don't.) ATA: "I'd tell ya, but then I'd have to ____."
  22. Gotta catchem all! Maybe it would be OK if they didn't actually say "Pokemon"!!
  23. Great minds think alike! I just posted this in the "other thread":
