  1. Are you using an official Xbox controller? Or a generic version (recognized by your PC as "Generic/Gamepad"). I find this makes a huge difference. The Generic gamepads tend to be "wired" slightly different sometimes. The mappings I posted are specifically for official Xbox controllers.
  2. I'm so glad this is helping so many people! It baffled me for the longest time. So, when I finally figured it all out, I felt the best thing I could do, is share it with everyone in SL. My little way of "giving back".
  3. I appreciate while having Premium Plus...Textures, Animations and Sounds are uploaded for free. But I really think with the pricing of the Premium Plus plan (and how rough things are in the Real world Economy), perhaps Mesh Uploads should also be included in the Free Perks for Premium Plus. Those upload costs are what keep me from really diving into the world of Mesh. Just my humble opinion.
  4. When you sell, for example, a "Full Perm" HUD Builders System... It is NOT "Full Perm" if the included scripts for the buyer to use in their own HUD builds, are set to No Mod. That makes the entire listing, NOT truly "Full Perm". And should not be allowed to be listed as such on the Marketplace. Yet everyone does this and some Merchants (not all) may include a little note buried at the bottom of the listing Description, telling the potential buyer that the scripts are "No Mod, oops sorry". I believe they do so, in hopes of tricking the Customer into buying it, thinking even the scripts are indeed, Full Perm as well, when they are not. That is wrong. And it shouldn't be allowed. Honesty FIRST. You can't change my mind on this one.
  5. Now to be serious.... If you want to have a decent experience on SL and have good visual quality.... You need at LEAST 8GB RAM And at minimum, an Intel i3 (9th Gen) or greater with a Geforce GTX 1650 Card or better. (or some AMD/Ryzen equivalent) And remember: SL hates WiFi.
  6. Sounds like you upgraded from a potato to a Tater Tot... 🤷‍♀️ The Lindens aren't in the Produce business. 🥔
  7. 😆 Yeah I haven't figured out how to remap the buttons yet. That's just how SL chose to map them automatically.
  8. Xbox Controller Settings (PC) After tons of trial and error, I have finally "perfected" all the settings under "Preferences > Move and View > Joystick". Using the Xbox Controller, it's actually much easier to move your Avatar, but the best part is what it can do for Flycam. Avatar Movement: Left Joystick: Forward, Backward, Walk Left, Walk Right Right Joystick: Turn Camera Left, Right, Up, Down A Button: Flycam Mode B Button: Jump Left Trigger: Fly Down Right Trigger: Fly Up ** "Dead Zone" numbers can be slightly modified to properly respond to your Controller. Make small changes (in steps of 0.10 values at a time). FLYCAM MODE: Left/Right Joysticks control Pitch and Direction just like a real life Drone. INSTRUCTIONS: Match your Settings to those in the attached photo. ** Do NOT remove any of the Negative ( - ) Settings. They control True Direction in relation to the Analog Joysticks. *** Screenshot is from inside the Firestorm Viewer
  9. I see this as excellent news, actually. I always preferred Casper over Hippo through the years. And as others have stated, as long as Vendor Systems competition is still allowed in a "free" marketplace without "corporate" oppression, I can only see this as a good thing. Journey forth with open minds, my friends.
  10. Linden Lab just announced, at least it seems, that Tilia will no longer be part of SecondLife? The message was a bit shadowed in the recent "An Update About Second Life" Blog. To Quote the Blog: Excerpt: IF Tilia will cease to exist, will we be returning to the old system for Linden Exchanges? Or? I'm sure many Residents would love a better explanation of this.
  11. I highly doubt those pesky "foreign meddlers" care any least bit about Second Life, nor does the US election offer any dangers to users of SL, lol.
  12. Firestorm Disables older versions per every other new version. Which means at some point, the agreement between LL and Firestorm, will cause Firestorm developers to eventually block the final remaining Windows 7 compatible viewer. That day will happen now. As a Creator, I can't stand the LL viewer. Many others feel the same way. And that will be the day we will be forced off of SL.
  13. For MANY years after V2 appeared, LL allowed the Legacy Version 1 Viewer to function on the SL servers. Why not allow Windows 7 Viewers to exist for as long as they function? Not hard to do.
  14. From the Blog Post: "Linden Lab is updating our system requirements to remove Windows 7 from the versions we support. This does not mean that Second Life will stop working on Windows 7 immediately; existing viewers, and possibly some new viewers, should run as well as they did before. However, we will not be testing any viewers on Windows 7, so it is likely that compatibility problems will develop and increase over time." That is a watered down way to say "Eventually as viewers advance in versions, those that work from Windows 7 will cease to function over time." So, yes, they will eventually graduate viewer code base to simply stop working for Windows 7 in the future.
  15. Many people, as mentioned above, simply can't afford to nor even WANT to upgrade to that junk called Windows 10. Technically, there is no reason LL needs to stop allowing Windows 7 machines to connect to SL. Nothing in that connection will change. And as previously posted, many older Residents simply won't upgrade. So, this means, Linden Lab is basically prepared to lose many THOUSANDS of Long-Time Residents, over one incredibly STUPID decision. This, will indeed, lead to Second Life's fast approaching demise. And this is simply UNFAIR of LL to do. There's NO REASON Windows 7 Users should be excluded from SL in the near future. Windows 7 based Viewers will do NO HARM to SL or it's servers! ALLOW Firestorm to leave a Legacy Windows 7 Version of their viewer for us "Senior" Residents to use.... PLEASE!. After almost 12 years as a successful Resident, I really can't deal with or imagine being forced off SL because of something like this. It is beyond sad and hurtful.
  16. When I was getting my start in learning LSL years ago, I found a great website with worlds of great information, examples and detailed script usage. Yesterday, I for some reason, had one of those brain farts while working on a new script, so I turned to that trusty website to reference a few snippets. To my absolute horror, a big red button popped up and said "Website is Offline". Today, it is still offline. I, of course, speak of LSLWiki.Net. Does anyone know the actual status of this website? I wonder if this is just temporary...or if it's gone forever. It was a truly great tool for scripters.
  17. Not a problem. Thank you.
  18. I submitted a ticket on your website for a Refund Request. I give up. Obviously Avastar just isn't for me. I've already deleted and Uninstalled it from Blender. Much respect to those who can grasp it and have success with it. I'm not saying it's a bad product. It's just not for the occasional dabbler in Blender.
  19. No matter whether I use my custom human meshes or a primitive stick person, I get the same results. When it DOES decide to rig, I get errors saying "No Vertices are weighted", or something to that effect. The only problem, is the meshes ARE properly weight painted. Another issue, is Avastar just won't copy bone weights from the "from Avastar" setting. Nothing happens. Period. I took an awful chance making a large purchase like this. (To me, this was expensive. L$ doesn't come easy for me these days). I pondered on it for over 2 weeks before I even posted about it here. Maybe others have no issues with Avastar. Great for them. It was just a wasteful purchase for me. Lesson learned on my part. I'll just stick with what I do best...HUDs.
  20. Well I took a chance and bought AVASTAR. I messed around with it for a couple days. And....I feel even DUMBER now than before I had AVASTAR. Why isn't there BETTER and CLEARER documentation on how to make that dang armature WORK on custom human meshes? Doesn't matter what human model I use, AVASTAR just breaks, period. It refuses to weight any custom mesh. And the Armature refuses to Parent any custom mesh. So, I guess there's L$6,500 down the drain for me. Wish I had followed my gut and NOT bought it. That was VERY hard earned money for me to waste. :smileymad:
  21. My main concern, was/is the learning curve of AVASTAR. At least compared to performing the same functions in Blender without AVASTAR. I lost count of how many blood vessels I herniated in my brain and of how many mini-strokes I've had; learning Blender for SL. And I still have trouble getting the rigging to work every time. (*POP*, there goes another one just thinking about it). At this point, easier is the direction I need to go.

    AVASTAR

AVASTAR....... Is it a worthwile Investment for a serious Creator that wants/needs to move in to the Mesh Market? I do "OK" in Blender, except when it comes to SL rigging. It's always a hit or miss for me. Will AVASTAR fill that gap for me and make me glad I spent the money for it? I currently use Blender 2.76 and DAZ Studio for various other Mesh Projects. I'm looking for serious opinions here, not snide remarks.
  23. I actually see several in Search inworld, matching the OP's genres. And that sucks for me...cause I'd rather listen to Classic Rock or Hard Rock. Those are the Clubs that are truly declining in number.
  24. Laika Ravikumar wrote: I am about to buy a new PC. They mostly come with Windows 10 pre installed. I have seen conflicting stories as to whether it works with SL. I know at least one of my friends has it and says it works perfectly for him. Can anyone clarify matters am very confused, reluctant to lose my SL as have lots of time and Lindens invested in it. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Not sure about the Official SL Viewer, but IF you intend to run the Firestorm Viewer, and IF that new PC has an Intel Graphics card....might want to read here first: http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_intel_fix_32bit
  25. I'm looking to downsize my inworld presence and want to make it look like a RL "Mom and Pop" type of store. Ya know, do business downstairs, live upstairs. Are there any decent sims that offer that at reasonable L$/Prim ratio?
