  1. I think there is a minimum price tho on items before you can use distribution of profits. I think it is 10L or something
  2. You don't protect your ideas. Unless you have a million USD to pursue someone across borders - and even then it won't work out probably. I would advise you modularise your scripts between different scripters so they don't have all the pieces of the puzzle. Either that or strike up a relationship with a scripter and build a give-take relationship that works
  3. Yes bots get frowned upon and rightly so....
  4. I run a number of businesses in SL which have what you might call Intellectual Property. I don't protect any of them. The reason why I don't protect my ideas is because Intellectual Property does not extend across borders unless I have a million USD to pursue someone internationally. My recommendation if you are working with scripts is to divide it up into modules and get separate scripters to work on different functions. Then you can bring all the elements together without them having the full puzzle available to them. The alternative is to strike up a strong partnership with a scripter (like I do) who appreciates your own talents and work in a sort of symbiotic relationship. You'll find scripters have their shortcomings!
  5. As well as templates you can get sculpt maps from marketplace for various clothing shapes...make more interesting clothes that way.
  6. Ask them to "redeliver" it. It should display as failed delivery though from their marketplace store controls.
  7. How do I get my forum avatar to look bigger? Everyone has bigger ones and I only have a tiny one ;(
  8. Make sure you don't have something typed into the search bar by accident. It filters out things. That might be causing it.
  9. I want to be objective here. It IS AN IMPROVEMENT. It is faster to use and more intuitive. However, to me there seems to be more bells and whistles but just as little real substance in terms of finding the right locations. For example, I run a jobs agency which most would consider to be a very useful resource for new players. Everything is easy to navigate, there's guides and categories for new players and plenty of genuine jobs. I'm about 20th in the new search probably. Then there's Nachtigal who have 3 identical listings in the first 10 results. Nachtigal is a skybox and when I say box I mean BOX. Inside it's dark and there's hardly any genuine jobs and certainly no help or assistance for new players to speak of. Someone find the light switch yet? He is gaming the search to monetize it.... If I really wanted to manipulate it I could buy a full sim and have the top 20 results...all identical... in search. You'd have to scroll through pages and pages of my stuff to get to anything. So it's a thumbs down from me frankly. There's an idea.....thumbs up and thumbs down voting - let players decide what they want to be highest in search....Robots are stupid and eventually humans always figure out how to make them sing and dance they way they want.
  10. Hmmm. Well lets see. We're experts in inworld marketting. Via SecondAds we provide advertising in over 1000 locations at once. Via Gold Hunt you can drive massive traffic from our 5000 hunters. Oh - you could put up an adboard in your shop window maybe also...or pay one of those 500L$ adboards
  11. Pretty cool idea 50LF ;D We just launched a discount scheme for our Gold Hunters on the Gold Hunt. We have about 5000 players currently. Might be an idea also ;D
  12. If you can select "show store" from your merchant menu and it comes up then your listed. You're probably just so low down in search it pretends you don't exist.
  13. Classified are useless. period.
  14. I've noticed a lot of failed deliveries on my store recently. Worse than normal
  15. You could always try the JobsFox agency. They have tons of jobs on offer for people such as yourself! http://slurl.com/secondlife/Business%20Park/167/102/21/

  17. You can always press ESC on your keyboard to reset camera when it goes crazy. Also you can buy custom camera controls from the marketplace that will give you more functionality than the standard ones. :matte-motes-kiss:
  18. Sometimes people think they have been refused because when its 0L$ it requires that you scroll down to the bottom of the screen and press "place order". :matte-motes-kiss: Personally I don't understand the need for this feature because it confuses people, but I assume it's for anti-bot purposes.
  19. You need to rebake your textures CTRL-ALT-D :matte-motes-kiss: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Rebaking_textures
  20. Contact the seller and ask for them to "redeliver". If it has not been delivered they should see the message "failed delivery" in their inventory management system. However, sometimes sellers can get a bit funny about redelivering items, particularly if they are expensive no copy items, transferable items.

  22. I am a CEO of several very successful businesses. The company me and my business partner started recently IPO'd on the capital exchange for 20,000USD. We make a monthly income in the 1,000s of USD. The way to make money in SL is not to compete with the masses. Find a niche. To do that you need to bring together a team with a range of talents (usually scripting, marketting AND design) and come up with something that is genuinly new and not easy to emulate. :matte-motes-sunglasses-3: Don't try to compete with the masses. In SL theres 1000 people competing for one viable market spot. You'll fail. :matte-motes-sour:
  23. Send an IM or notecard to the person selling the item and ask them politely to "redeliver". :matte-motes-smitten: I have noticed a lot of items failing to deliver from my store and I'm quite fast to redeliver, but most merchants will not be.
  24. Jobsfox is the top jobs agency http://slurl.com/secondlife/Business%20Park/167/102/21/
